Kioko strikes the giant with her magically growing katana. Rakka's bespelled arrow sinks into the giant's shoulder. Meanwhile, Humble strategically repositions and heals himself.
Not one to shy from battle, Kyrie steps forward and slams her shield into the giant's knee. The giant buckles and bows in pain. She takes advantage and slams her shield into the now within reach head of the giant, which topples the titan.
Humble notices the empress clapping as the knight defeats the enemy. The lava, heat, and the dome of force containing them vanish along with the fallen giant. "Well done!" Hao Jin says. "Let us relax and rest before the next event of the night."
Humble blinks slowly with his hand in the air palm up, waiting for whatever treasures await them as a reward for surely they did put this level of effort into something so impractical as glory or — more useless still — accolades.
Kioko exhales. "The heat was more punishing than I expected."
After another hour of refreshments and relaxing--or perhaps, in your case, tending to your wounds--Hao Jin rises from her seat and speaks once more across the courtyard. "I think it is time to end tonight's expositions with one more match," the sage says. "I would like to see Summary Judgement face one of the other teams of whom I took note over the past three days. The Lightkeepers!" With a wave of her hand, the Ruby Phoenix transforms the courtyard into another fighting arena (without the additional challenge of lava).
The Lightkeepers have been relatively quiet all evening. They have made no notable outbursts, cheers, or efforts to gain anyone's attention. However, you remember them as the team that watched callously and walked away without aid as the ancient dinosaur nearly devoured Kioko. While that is certainly not unexpected behavior in a qualifier with stakes as high as this, they left an impression.
The albino goblin and the ysoki leap off of their seats and approach the arena with sadistic grins. The white-haired Tian-Hwan woman in purple robes follows with a cold expression and dead eyes. The Tian-Shu woman with no weapons except for a few shuriken tucked into bandolier hurries to catch up with the goblin and ysoki. Her expression is bloodthirsty.
Once you have arrayed yourself upon the arena floor, the Ruby Phoenix gives the signal to begin!
Immediately, the ysoki darts forward with a malicious grin. He stops several yards in front of you where he draws and drains a vial before any of you can react. He then sprays the contents out in a wide, fine mist of spittle that falls down over Kioko and Kyrie.

Humble weaves an enchantment in the air, recounting the situation with the dinosaur but in the mind of each recipient, they are the one being devoured by the dinosaur while their teammates turn callously away.

Kioko learns the painful way that the expectorated mist is a neurotoxin that causes erratic spasms in her muscles. While her body wrestles with the toxin, Humble sews doubt in the minds of his opponents. It finds fertile ground in most of them, especially the ysoki.
The goblin, however, appears unaffected as his wide, feral grin grows wider and he suddenly leaps the distance between himself and Kyrie. He lands not on the ground but upon the knight, herself, with arms and legs wrapped tightly around her. He twists his body forcefully, causing Kyrie to lose her balance and then kicks off of her with powerful legs. She slams face first into the ground while the goblin backflips in the air and lands gracefully.

Rakka quickly dashes away from the pack, seeking a little breathing room, before he wheels around and fires an arrow at the black-haired woman in the back. When it arrives, it explodes into a fiery bloom, enveloping the two humans and the ysoki.
The dark-haired assassin dodges Rakka's arrow just before it explodes. She continues her roll, avoiding some of the power of the flame. So too does the white-haired sorceress. The ysoki is too busy wondering where an imaginary attack will come to see the flames coming and is engulfed.
Determined to win at any price and suffering mental anguish for it, the Tian-Shu woman moves after Rakka with remarkable speed. She makes a sign with two fingers and then thrusts those fingers toward the center of Rakka's chest.
After looking around to make sure nobody is nearby to stab him in the back after that terrible, fiery onslaught, he whips a clay flask at Humble and hits the aasimar in the face. Cloudy sap drips down his face, burning and stinging. Kyrie and Kioko feel a nauseating energy radiate from Humble's location.
The ysoki whips a glass bottle at Humble, which shatters against his arm and explodes with a flare of lightning.

At Humble's command, the ysoki turns to run and the goblin releases Kyrie. The goblin scurries toward the white-haired witch as fast as his short legs can carry him. Once the enchantment ends, he turns around and glares balefully at Humble. Like a bouncing ball, he flings himself back toward Summary Judgement. Much to Humble's probable horror, the goblin soars past Kyrie to land upon the aasimar Kalistocrat. Goblin arms and legs wrap around the priest like steel bands.

The white-haired woman moves forward and begins to chant. Her long, white tresses begin to float and weave on their own as she casts her magic. With a final gesture toward the albino goblin, she completes her spell.

Rakka steps away from the approaching black-haired woman, then dashes farther away before miming the action of firing a bow. As he does, a spectral arrow of pure force streaks into the goblin clinging onto Humble.
Despite the spasming muscles, Rakka manages to make the gestures required to summon his arrows of force. Humble can feel them slam into the goblin, but the rascal remains tenaciously fixed.
The dark-haired woman continues her pursuit of Rakka despite her anxious anguish, catching up to him as he finishes his magic. She jabs him in the chest, nearly knocking the wind out of him, and then lands an upper cut on his beaked jaw.
The ysoki runs away for a moment before cursing in his native language and then jogging back while looking around for hidden enemies.

Humble struggles in vain against the goblin's iron grip. However, he is soon freed, if not necessarily in a manner he would prefer.
The goblin releases his legs and pulls Humble down with a kick. The brawny wrestler then spins and lifts Humble. "Mwa ha ha ha ha!" he cackles as the pair spin. The brawler clocks Kyrie and Kioko with the aasimar cleric's feet before tossing him away. Magically accelerated, he then moves away to stand guard between Summary Judgement and the ysoki.

Kyrie just barely, drawing upon heroic resolve, is able to avoid an unlucky full hit. She maneuvers up into a flank with Kioko to continue pounding the goblin.
Kyrie steps in and slams the goblin in his shoulder while he is ducking Kioko's fan, interrupting his grin. The wary goblin is expecting the second strike, though, and bends backward out of the way. "Hya!"
The white-haired woman begins a long, involved incantation with intricate gestures. Out of Kioko's shadow rises an identical--most likely evil--duplicate of the tengu ranger. The duplicate Kioko immediately strikes at the original with katana and fan. The duplicate proves inept, and the original Kioko strikes at the opening. However, as inept with the weapons as the duplicate may be, they are just as agile and parry Kioko's riposte.

Wanting to improve the numbers, Rakka steps away from the black-haired woman and fires off a spell-wreathed arrow at the goblin, hoping to take him down.
The goblin leans out of the way and can feel the wake of the arrow .
The dark-haired human follows Rakka and dances around him, making it hard for him to keep track of her movements. The distraction gives her an opening, and she strikes. The blow does not feel good, but it could have been worse. The woman then breaks away to loom over Humble.
With everyone all spread out, the ysoki opts for a different tactic. He looks over both of his shoulders twice before drawing a sword. He coats the blade with something as it emerges. Then he advances toward the harried Kioko.

Just before she slams into Kyrie, the goblin sticks out his foot and trips her to the floor . He tries to strike her with his fist but miscalculates how quickly she can respond .

The goblin spares a glance over his shoulder to grin toothily at her. "You thank me later!"

As Kioko pushes herself to her feet, the goblin reaches out. The albino grabs hold of her wrist and twists her into a lock. Kioko struggles against the goblin's preternatural strength. It first seems as though she will be as trapped as Humble was. However, her strength surges. She elbows the goblin in the ribs and throws off his lock.

”I’ll be there in a moment, Humble! I just need to finish.” She gives the goblin a serious stare. ”Sorry, but I need to wrap this up.”
The goblin twists out of the way as Kyrie swings her shield at him. He is not so lucky a moment later. The blow dazes him slightly, and the knight presses the opportunity to smash his nose flat . The albino goblin is breathing hard, now.
The white-haired woman cackles. Kioko's clone follows her and swings her katana. Kioko is forced to step back as the blade passes within an inch of her neck. The woman then glares at Kyrie balefully before beginning an incantation.

Rakka snaps off another ethereal arrow at the goblin, his eyes glowing. Just as quickly, he draws a physical arrow and fires it, wreathed in a spectral claw, at the black-haired woman.
Humble grits his teeth. He raises his shield then lays on hands himself.
Rakka flings mystical energy into the resilient goblin wrestler. He then turns his attention toward the dark-haired woman and fires a bespelled arrow. The woman tries to flip out of the way, but the arrow catches her in the leg. The magics shreds her pant leg and bloodies her flesh.
Humble rises from the ground and raises his shield before calling upon Abadar to restore his strength. The woman focuses on Humble despite the physical and mental pain. She manages to thrust a two-finger jab into the aasimar's solar plexus, which sends pain through his body. Then she punches down on his knee.
Looking over his shoulder for trouble, the ysoki steps out from behind the goblin. He stabs at Kioko. Confounded by the enemies on so many sides, she fails to defend herself, and the blade heads for her heart. Fortunately, Kyrie is ready to interpose her shield to defend her ally. The maneuver turns a deadly blow into a glancing one. The poison on the blade only needs a slight scratch to do its work, though.
The goblin embraces Kioko in a crushing grip before leveraging her size against her and slamming her to the ground. Kyrie attempts to punish the goblin for his assault, but he twists out of the way as he releases the tengu. "Gar nah nah!" he growls at Kyrie before wresting her shield out of her grasp. He then punches her in the chest, but her armor absorbs all of the energy.

The Kioko clone dissolves like smoke. The white-haired woman invokes a malign power that threatens to overwhelm Kyrie's senses. Then she speaks a single word.

Rakka drags an arrow along the floor, gathering energy from the arena that he then uses to charge said arrow, sending it streaking toward the goblin.

An arrow from Rakka's bow sinks into the goblin's shoulder. The goblin glowers at the tengu magus with his pink eyes before the spectral claws crash into him. He falls to the ground in a bloody mess, finally overcome.

Humble breathes a sigh of relief as the goblin falls. Perhaops he can stabilize him but first things first: he must take care of himself!
He heals himself, then moves closer to Kyrie.
Pain spasms through Humble's body from the woman's strike. He tries to complete his prayer to Abadar, but his muscles spasm at the wrong time and the prayer is lost. He manages to escape toward Kyrie, though.
The black-haired woman lets the aasimar withdraw and steps toward Kioko instead. She stomps at Kioko's bruised shoulder. On the ground, the ranger is an easy target. Kyrie invokes divine retribution and slams her shield into the assassin, which softens the blow. However, the assassin recovers and stomps on Kioko's injured shoulder again.
The ysoki looks over his shoulder to make sure nobody is sneaking toward him. He draws a black vial and applies it to his blade before he stabs Kioko in the leg. A burning cold stings the wound.
