Galtorr Maplefang |
Laughing with glee Galtorr swings once again at the wolf. Power Greatsword: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 142d6 + 9 ⇒ (2, 2) + 9 = 13
Firewarden Yanda |
Try to aid the goblin again.
Aid vs AC: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (4) + 0 = 4
"Your time is running out. Better make it work now or you can forget it."
Chyrone |
Yanda's attempt to distract the wolf isn't going so well now.
Inu shakes his head, but doesn't comment.
Since he hadn't said otherwise, this will be his angle.
Wartnose beats Scar-lip to the wolf, mocking him at his failure.
AoO: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 141d4 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2
Trip?: 1d20 ⇒ 6
The wolf manages to bite him in return again, but again doesn't get tripped.
The other goblins now try to hamper Galtorr's attempt at slaying the last wolf.
Scar-lip disarm, flank: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
You get an aoo, if you want, he doesn't have improved disarm.
Rude trip, flank: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Lurker dirty trick: 1d20 ⇒ 2
All of them fail their attempts.
Why, Erlathan? :P
1d20 + 1 - 10 ⇒ (13) + 1 - 10 = 4
1d20 + 1 - 6 ⇒ (8) + 1 - 6 = 3
====================
Wolves, round 6

Goblins
Erlathan |
Didn't peek this time, I promise.
"Come on, you hairy beast. Quit moving and eat some acid!" Another acid blob emerges from Erlathan's palm.
Acid into melee: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (19) + 3 - 4 = 181d3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Braxen "Brax" Dravensams |
Brax steps into a flanking position with Galtorr, hoping to knock out the wolf before the might warrior can cleave it in two.
Hammer Attack (non lethal): 1d20 + 2 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (13) + 2 + 2 - 4 = 13
Hammer Damage (non lethal): 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Chyrone |
If Galtorr doesn't want an aoo against a goblin, he's welcome to say so. Given his lack of sympathy and no nonsense mentality thus far, i reckon he takes it on Scar-lip.
Galtorr aoo, DON'T TOUCH MY SWORD!: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10Dmg: 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (1, 3) + 9 = 13
Seems his rolls even come play at my court.
With the aoo taken, and having missed, Erlathan ends the feeble threat of the young wolf.
Combat over.
Firewarden Yanda |
Yanda quickly moves to stop the bleeding on any of the injured. If someone else does so she will just aid. This includes the wolves if their lives are not ended by a sword or ax.
Heal rolls when needed:
heal: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (1) + 0 = 1
heal: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (6) + 0 = 6
heal: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (10) + 0 = 10
heal: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (18) + 0 = 18
heal: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (3) + 0 = 3
Erlathan |
"Whew. Glad that's over! I still don't see a point in keeping these wolves alive. The goblins, however... Suppose we should arrive with one or two less than expected. The Society will probably not reward us as handsomely, and after spending so much time with these smelly creatures, I think we more than deserve a full reward." Erlathan moves to the two goblins and attempts first aid.
Heal: 1d20 ⇒ 3
Heal: 1d20 ⇒ 19
Firewarden Yanda |
Yanda too. I assumed she would prepare extracts in the morning.
Any of the wolves or goblins die?
Boldren The Tarnished |
Boldren smiles at the thought that someone feels similar to him about escorting an uncontrollable group of goblins across the winter front.
"I agree Inu. On the bright side, if they keep running uncontrollably into harms way, soon we will have less goblins to worry about."
Braxen "Brax" Dravensams |
"And we'll not complete our mission if we don't bring 'em ALL in. I don't like playin' the babysitter either, but we signed up for this job. Might as well complete it."
Brax sets to dragging the wolf corpses away from the camp.
Chyrone |
With 1st aid being a standard action, we'll deal this in rounds. I'm going by your aid rolls.
Round 5 goblins rolls.
Pinkey: 1d20 + 1 - 10 ⇒ (6) + 1 - 10 = -3 Bleeds 1, is at -11 when 1st aid is applied.
Big eyes: 1d20 + 1 - 6 ⇒ (20) + 1 - 6 = 15 Stabilizes.
=====================
People trying 1st aid 1st round: Braxen, Erlathan & Yanda on Pinky.
On Pinkey, no success at 1st aid.
Pinkey bled to death. -1 goblin.
-----------------
Since both wolves were at -1 when they fell, and fell in round 3 & 4, -1 for their respective rounds. Leftover 1st aid rolls will go to the wolves.
Yanda is doing 1st aid, tending to blue 1st.
3 misses, then she succeeds.
Blue (-7) Stable
Red (-7) Unstable
Yanda, do you still want to roll for the 2nd wolf?
Firewarden Yanda |
Heal: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (2) + 0 = 2
Heal: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (9) + 0 = 9
Heal: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (19) + 0 = 19
Heal: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (6) + 0 = 6
Here you go. Trying to save the wolf...
Anyone else want to help? We may be losing fame points here.
Boldren The Tarnished |
As Yanda points out the severity of Pinkey's situation, Boldren pulls out his wand of infernal healing and uses a charge to stabilize the goblin.
Wand of infernal healing: 10 = 10 (+10 HP to Pinkey Over 10 rds.)
After apply the magic to the goblion, Boldren shakes his head and goes back to studying his spell book.
Firewarden Yanda |
So we have 1 dead goblin, but how many conscious and unconscious ones do we have? And wolves. How many alive but unconscious? Just want to take inventory.
Chyrone |
Anyway.....:)
Have a prep at whatever you want, prior to the following.

Your journey proceeds slowly with the goblins in fetters.
You can get them to cooperate and move not even slower for 1d4 ⇒ 3 hours with a DC 13 diplomacy, from the ones they are indifferent to.
DC 18 for those they are unfriendly towards.
Boldren (Unfriendly)
Braxen (Indifferent)
Erlathan (Unfriendly)
Firewarden Yanda (Indifferent)
Galtorr (Unfriendly)

The village of Harvest’s End is a quiet place. Traveling merchants in colorful garb are easily distinguished from the locals, who dress in woolen clothes of drab browns, greens, and grays.
There are no sounds of laughter or play here. Fishermen put their catch out for display, while others congregate in small groups and whispered conversations.
Smoke rises from the chimneys of uniform but wellconstructed buildings, most of which are surrounded by small white picket fences.
Boldren The Tarnished |
Bigeyes is pretty fair in the negative, but stable.
I just caught this, so my apologies for a slow response. Unless Boldren is told that Pinky is to fare gone to be healed, he will still attempt to revive the goblin with the wand. If someone tells Boldren that Pinky is out right dead, he will save the charge. As for Bigeyes, Boldren can probably visually see that the goblin is injured, so he will use one charge from the wand to give the goblin +10 HP. Even if this doesn't bring the goblin conscious, it may avoid an incidental death.
After working with those in the group that are proficient in healing, Boldren discharges a couple uses of his wand in an attempt to stabilize what goblins he can.
"With consideration of the wands limitations, do we want to heal these guys up, or keep them unconscious? It seems that they are able to find their way into the center of any hazard we come across, regardless of rope or chain. I will leave it up to the group to decide. Keep in mind, if these guys keep charging into hazards, and we keep healing them, then the wand will become depleted rather quickly. As fare as I can tell, it is the only source of healing we currently have. If healing them is what we decide to do, then we need to discourage things like climbing onto the backs of wild wolves that intend to bit anyone attempting such a thing. This kind of activity will undoubtedly put a strain on our remaining healing resources."

As the group enters the city, Boldren observes the town's populace and their reaction to the remaining goblins that are currently in our care.
Braxen "Brax" Dravensams |
Brax makes some attempts at small talk with the remaining goblins as we saunter into town. He is definitely NOT interested in doing anything with the wolves as far as helping the goblins get mounts. He is not opposed to the idea of stabilizing them, but doesn't think we should waste our healing magic on them.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
Firewarden Yanda |
No problem. :)
Speaking of the wolves, how will you guys deal with them? Yanda proposed to try and get them for the goblins to ride on for the journey, seems she's the only one?
Yanda would like to try with at least one wolf, but has no ability to heal it. So, really it is up to Boldren who may have the only wand of healing.
Boldren The Tarnished |

Healing the wolf so it can continue to attack the goblins as they attempts to mount the wild, aggressive, out of control animal, is a NO! Even if we managed to hit the lottery, and the goblins find a way to successfully mount the wild animal. The wolf would be no less aggressive, and it would likely continue to try and attack the goblins and (or) anyone else standing around.
Just imagine the group making its way through the current city. The wolf decides that one of the little children, who happens to be playing in the street, looks appetizing. HANDLE ANIMAL, which the goblins have displayed no ability to perform, is now required to prevent the wolf from attacking the child. Good by little Johnny! That's not even mentioning the increased amount problems the stooped goblins could get into if they where mounted. We can't seem to control the little wretches now! How are we going to have better control over them when they are mounted on a wild animal? Then there is the the whole problem of how are you going to feed the animal as we make our way through the blizzard. I VOTE FOR WOLF PELTS!
I'm getting dizzy thinking about all the reasons why attempting to mount the goblins on an uncontrollable, aggressive, wild wolf IS A BAD IDEA!
Firewarden Yanda |
Your choice. I considered the idea flawed myself, but it would be cool if they were mounted and I guess the metagaming got the better of me since I figure it will play into things later. The GM has been dropping hints that improving the goblins attitude towards us will be helpful. Speaking of which...
diplomacy: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (6) + 0 = 6
Yanda snarls at the goblins in an attempt to get them to move a bit quicker, to no avail. It's like herding cats. It bugs her further since it was she that attempted to help them get wolves but the goblins show no gratitude, no gratitude at all. But what should one expect from goblins anyway?
Chyrone |
@ Boldren, great post. :)
Yanda's snarl seems to worsen the goblins' moody mindset, they snarl back with more teeth bared.
Worsened disposition. If a diplomacy fails by 5+.
The few villagers paying attention give you odd looks, and some whisper between each other, pointing at the group.
In particular the goblins in manacles & fetters you escort.
That, and you're total strangers of course.
Any buildings you'd like to visit?
Firewarden Yanda |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
sense motive: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (1) + 0 = 1
Yep. Yanda is in a bit of a funk. Not paying attention to much and brooding a lot. She goes off into the bushes more than usual too. You think it may be her time of the month.
Erlathan |
Sense motive: 1d20 ⇒ 13
"They don't seem to like us. The goblins in particular are drawing attention. No surprise there!" Erlathan whispers to Yanda and Boldren.
What buildings are there to visit? What is of interest here?
Boldren The Tarnished |
After taking heed to Erlathan's warning, Boldren begins evaluating the mood of the locals.
Sense Motive: 1d20 ⇒ 5
Responding to the elf's concern, Boldren whispers, "We are not going to be viewed as inviting to anyone who has a resentment towards goblins. We should move through this place as quickly as possible."
Looks like one of the merchants sales miscellaneous stuff. We could check to see if he has any Golarion-Midol.
The origins of this small wonder, the tampon, reach far back into recorded history. The ancient Egyptians fashioned disposable tampons from softened papyrus. The Greek physician Hippocrates, writing in the fifth century B.C., described another type of tampon, which was made of lint wrapped around lightweight wood.
This could be a solution to the adventuring menstruation!
Chyrone |
This just went silly, with you going along with Yanda's 'problem'.
:)
------
Speaking of the topic, years ago my folks got me a little book for X-mas.
It was titled - The strange and terrible English of business people and politicians -. Now we're not native in English, but this....
There was apparently a female secretary of state internal affairs.
* What she meant to say was: I'm the state secretary of internal affairs, and i am in my first term for this position.
!! What she actually said was: I'm the state secretary of the inside, and i am in my first period.
.......cracked me up.
Boldren checks the scene, and seemingly heads over to the merchant's shop.
As he steps inside, the decoration of the place leaves little to question where the owner is from. The man is dressed in Chelish attire, and looks up from his register as Boldren steps inside.
"Ah, a customer? And an out of towner at that. Please do tell, who is my customer, and how can i help you."
Erlathan |
Bluff: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (18) - 2 = 16
Erlathan jumps in front. "We are nobles from Absalom, of course. My friend Yanda here is the Hormonal Dutchess, she's really quite delicate as a flower these days so do be gentle, yes?" He grins sarcastically. "Right, given our rank and stature, perhaps a discount would be in order, friend?"
Boldren The Tarnished |
This just went silly, with you going along with Yanda's 'problem'.:)
Comment was said OOC, but in the sprite of fun, I am OK with it adding immersion to the woman's situation. LoL
As the wizard enters the shop, he begins looking around for some papyrus or lint.
Chyrone |
And the award for bad puns goes to.......(drums).... Erlathan!
"Only my actual business friends and regular customers get discount from me. And nobles you say? Tell me, how fares lady DeSilva these days?
Has her daughter been wed yet?"
There are no noble houses by the name of DeSilva in Absalom.
He's not buying Erlathan's lie.
If anybody remains outside, they will notice a larger house, likely where the mayor, or whatever goes for a ruler here, resides.
