Darius Swiftblade |
Im all good. I've got one teleport to get us to Absalom and Kurik is going to teleport us back I believe. I will be casting some buff spells before reentering the Groto of Death though..
GM Ilmakis |
It took several hours to the small group of surviving Pathfinder to get back from the Grand Lodge after Darius teleport them directly to his lodge.
There, powerful spellcasters from the Society were able to get back Kurik from the dead. Thanks to the powerful spell used, he seems as if he had just wake up from a diffcult night after having discolored nightmare...
With Kurik spell, the group came back on the island and when they question the savant they left on it, they don't seems to remember anything from their first encounter nor the reason for being on this remote island far from their home!
The came back in the silent complex where no one dare to enter after they left a few hours back.
They walk to the blank wall hoping to find the hidding entrance for the hidden lab.
You can rebuff, and do what you want. We are now in normal mode.
Darius Swiftblade |
Darius casts Extended Heroism, Shield, and Cat's Grace. Stoneskin as well before entering..
We have to clear all that stuff again GM?
GM Ilmakis |
You are back to the small, unadorned chamber that is made of interlocking natural stone blocks and who has a low, claustrophobic ceiling, as if to discourage individuals from lingering here.
You need to find a way to "open" something and/or use the levers.
Kurik Grandhelm |
Kurik casts his remaining long term blessings, Air Walk and Freedom of Movement. Looking around the bare room, he holds up the scroll. "Do you want this enhanced sight, Darius, or shall I take it up?"
Darius Swiftblade |
"Faldoc, come in here and see if you can find something!"
Use the scroll we found on Faldoc, he has the best chance at finding something I think..
GM Ilmakis |
Faldoc Tisbane |
Faldoc will attempt to describe or even draw the ethereal runes on six panels that he sees. Perhaps one of you will know what these mean?
Faldoc Tisbane |
Faldoc will also cast Longstrider, Feather Step and Freedom of Movement on himself. He will be willing to share the time on his Life Bubble spell with others also.
GM Ilmakis |
Faldoc tries to describe and draw the etheral runes for his comrades.
Panel 1: at the;
Panel 2: threshold;
Panel 3: mine;
Panel 4: shall;
Panel 5: be;
Panel 6: the lurker;
Kurik Grandhelm |
"Bah, and me without my blessing of tongues today." the dwarf grumbles, studying Faldoc's depiction of what he sees. "Best mark down which is which before the magic fades as well."
Kurik does not need any Life Bubble, so everyone else can have longer durations. Take 10 gives 20 with Aklo.
"It's a jumbled mishmash. They need rearranging." Kurik observes as he writes out the phrases in Taldane.
Darius Swiftblade |
"Well that could be arranged a lot of ways.. What about The Lurker shall be at the mine threshold? Let's try that."
Kurik Grandhelm |
"Wasn't there something about that in the notes we researched?"
Kurik Grandhelm |
"Alright Faldoc, you've got the pass phrase. Let's see what new horrors await."
GM Ilmakis |
Faldoc arranges the movable stone panels to spell out the passphrase. Once arranged, the stones on the room’s floor blink out of existence, revealing a permanent teleportation circle that instantly transports all Pathfinders into another room!
GM Ilmakis |
An acrid tang flls the air in this tall, lightless chamber. A series of metal rebar platforms connected by steel staircases descend in a counterclockwise spiral from corner to corner. A faint circle of amber light glows on the surface of the uppermost platform.
The stairways are 5 feet wide, have railings, and descend at a steep angle; they are considered difcult terrain. Each platform is approximately 30 feet lower than the last, is suspended by several metal supports from the adjoining walls, and lack safety railings. The PCs’ starting point on the largest platform is about 100 feet above the surface of greenish waters
Darius Swiftblade |
"Well this looking inviting.. I would suggest not falling into that water."
Darius casts extended Mirror Image and Displacement on himself..
Images: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Kurik Grandhelm |
"It does not look like a pleasant swim." Kurik agrees. Stepping forward, he walks up off the platform. "Can't say I much trust the scaffold either. Do you want me to lead the way?" Touching his holy symbol, divine energy charges his shield once more. Forgot to mention Kurik was resetting his Vindicator's Shield.
Kurik Grandhelm |
"Right. Follow a little bit behind, however you can." Kurik begins to walk down the empty air to the right of the platform, axe at the ready for anything that might leap from the walls.
GM Ilmakis |
Nothing jump out of the wall nor from the "water".
The only sounds heard are the acrid water lapping on the wall and the noise made by the four pathfinders.
I let you move your character on the map
Kurik Grandhelm |
"Best we move quickly while Faldoc still has the sight." the dwarf opines as he crosses over the stairs and leads the way down to the next landing.
Faldoc Tisbane |
Indeed... hopefully this sight will be able to show us safely down. Faldoc will follow Kurik, having Boomer come in behind him.
I will have Boomer try to detect the presence of anything that we cannot see with his scent as we go.
GM Ilmakis |
Boomer was not teleported. He stayed behind. You must go back and get him here.
As Kurik walks the air toward the second platform nothing happend.
Kurik Grandhelm |
Kurik waits for his party to catch up before heading down to the lowest platform. "The path leads down into the acid, as far as I can see. Look for any controls that might drain the room."
GM Ilmakis |
When Kurik reaches the third station, something happend.
Perception Kurik: 1d20 + 10 - 3 ⇒ (20) + 10 - 3 = 27

Despite being the farthest Faldoc is able to see something moving inside the acridic water!
Surprise Round (bold may act)
Faldoc
Something in the water
Faldoc Tisbane |
Faldoc, believing that he may not have a viable shot at whatever may lie beneath the water, instead alerts his friends of the presence, indicating its location!
GM Ilmakis |
The something lurking under the acridic water swims out, letting an appendage out of the water and immediately after a bank of thin mist wraps around the three pathfinders on the last platform. the mist doesn't amper your vision

Immunities: acid, bludgeoning damage, electricity, piercing damage, mindaffecting effects, ooze traits;
You can all act
Darius Swiftblade |
"Do you have slashing arrows Faldoc? If not pull a sword!"
Darius enchants his weapon to +5 as a swift action and casts Haste targeting his party members.. He then moves 5' down the stairs to give himself an unobstructed line of sight to the creature.
Kurik Grandhelm |
"Slashing arrows? That some sort of elf trick?" Kurik grumbles incredulously as he exits the fog with the assistance of Darius' acceleration.
Move and ready to strike the creature if it approaches. Kurik has some buffs for those who need it, either on their weapon or a +3 deflection from Shield of Faith.
Dudley Benfare |
Good thing chackrams are slashing.
Dudley will start chucking his chakram at it.
looks to be within 30', haste , rapid shot, point blank shot, adamantine

Faldoc Tisbane |
Slashing arrows? Is that a thing?
Faldoc sighs and draws his longsword, wondering if it will do any good. He then starts to move down the steps in order to get closer to the combat. Double move on difficult terrain.
Darius Swiftblade |
Knowing the difficulty of the fights we have had down here I think I woulda just wasted one of my 6 smite evils for the day and found out lol.. No matter. And no I don't think slashing arrows are a thing, but I'm not sure Darius would know that.
GM Ilmakis |
sorry, I forgot to say that usually Imortal Ichor are Neutral Evil (you don't know if this one is). If you want to use your smite evil I'm ok with that Dudley. (Working or not)
GM Ilmakis |
Four of Dudley's attacks find their way into the creature who screeches in pain.
He concentrates and the stairs connecting the last platform falls into the acridic waters then tries to frighten Dudley but without effect! Dudley is immune to fear effect
Petty mortal, you are nothing, but I offer you a one and only chance to abjure your false god and pray ME, a true being and your TRUE GOD.
Abjure your faith! Praise ME!
You think that acknowledging the divinity of this creature will give you a temporary advantage at the cost of your paladinate.
