Looking at the corridor filled with Morlocks Torvald sighs a little, this is going to hurt.

He invokes Erastils blessing twice before urging Ka forward, I bloody well hope there is some more space down there or this might go badly

With a shriek Ka surges forward over the heads of the morlocks. As they fly over Torvald draws his morning star, securing his longspear over his back.

As they reach the end of the corridor Ka snaps out at one of the Morlocks.

Bite, DF, Haste: 1d20 + 13 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 13 + 3 + 1 = 35
Damage: 1d8 + 8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 8 + 3 = 16

Torvald casts Grace on himself as a swift action. He follows it up with a spell shared shield of faith. Ka then flies over the heads of the morlocks. With haste he has a flight speed of 110' which should get us to the end of the passage even moving at half speed due to squeezing in a single move action for him. Grace means Torvald does not provoke. Ka provokes from everything I assume. With haste and shield of faith he has AC36. He has narrow frame and so takes no penalties to attack or AC from squeezing. He has DR5/bludgeoning

Bauble pokes one of the dead bodies to make sure its really dead, then zips into the next room over the big pit peering into it as he flies over.


Naur finds nothing magical among the fallen morlocks.

Moving through the irregular corridors you finally reach a larger room and disbatch the trio of morlocks lurking there.

Further east, the broken ruins spread out into a larger space. The floor is clear of rubble, as if deliberately swept clean. In the center of the chamber stands a silver bubble that rises up to touch the ceiling of broken stone 30 feet above. It appears to be formed from liquid silver, with ripples and eddies continually flowing across its surface. All manner of animal and humanoid bones—each picked clean—are stacked around the base of the dome.

Torvald casts freedom of movement, spell sharing it with Ka. I assume Haste will have run out. What about shield of faith? It lasts 4.5 minutes on me and Ka. If it has run out he will recover it with a pearl of power.

Bauble also fires up a detect magic to check it out, though he gets little more than Vladek.

Bauble barely resists walking up to the beautiful, but dangerous 'bauble', flitting forward and pulling himself back again. But even he isn't impulsive enough to touch an magical object with mounds of bones around it.

"Someone summon? Maybe send summon thingie to touch?"

I'm also curious as to the state of our buffs.


Torvald's sweep of the large room yields nothing apart from the obvious.

Naur recalls an obscure text he skimmed through some time ago theorizing on the esoteric capabilities of the pre-Earthfall aboleth empire. If the silvery bubble is of aboleth make, then it's perhaps a form of stasis field. Why it also emits powerful divination magic, he has no clue.

I've removed any buffs from the sheet that have run out. Any rounds/level spells are also long gone.

Once the group was ready, and at a safe distance, Shel decided to be the guinea pig, and she reaches out and touches the strange object.

Touching the silvery artifact causes Shel to be painfully sucked in.

Shel:
The interior of the bubble is a hollow dome, magically illuminated by an unknown source. The interior surface of this silver liquid is completely covered with various images depicting scenes of forests, plains, seas, and cities. All are extremely realistic and filled with moving creatures, flora, and weather. Standing at the center of this hemispherical diorama, like a lone sentinel, is a tall pillar of rock. A single eye stares out from the center of this column, just above a fang-filled mouth, and shifts from scene to scene as it takes in all the images being portrayed on the interior of the silver dome. A perfectly preserved woman’s corpse lies on the side of the one-eyed pillar, partially absorbed into its stony hide.
The sentinel reacts with rage at the intrusion.

All are extremely realistic and filled with moving creatures, flora, and weather. Standing at the center of this hemispherical diorama, like a lone sentinel, is a tall pillar of rock. A single eye stares out from the center of this column, just above a fang-filled mouth, and shifts from scene to scene as it takes in all the images being portrayed on the interior of the silver dome. A perfectly preserved woman’s corpse lies on the side of the one-eyed pillar, partially absorbed into its stony hide. A plain silver ring adorns one of the corpse's fingers.

The sentinel speaks, albeit in a confusing blend of archaic and modern Taldan.
