“It is truly a pleasure to be back.” Venture Captain Drandle Dreng takes a seat at the head of the table and leafs through the papers set before him. “Some of you might have worked with me before my… furlough. And I look forward to reminiscing, but first it seems we need to spend the next few hours tidying up the paperwork you’ve accumulated overt the course of your adventures.” He wets his cracked lips. “First, we have this extradition order from Cheliax for... Oh my. Well, I’m sure the Society can—“ A blue-grey shape crashes through the window and lands on the oak table with a metallic schwak! The tangle of wings and claws eventually stands, a gleaming silver raven, and opens its mouth. “G—gods help me, Dreng, I’m dying,” a distant male voice sputters from the bird. “Men in black—came for… Numeria exhibits. It’s Nigel... I’ve been shot! You owe me, you old bastard!” Dreng’s lips crack and pop as they tighten. “Well… Sounds like you lot need to head to the Wise District. That sounds like Nigel Aldain, so go to the Blakros Museum. If he lives through the night, I might be able to make something of this—” he waves a hand over the mound of parchment, “disappear.”
You may describe and introduce your character at this point, as well as ask the Venture-Captain any questions you may have. Finally, you may roll a Knowledge (local or nobility check) to see what you've heard about the Blakros museum and what dark events happened there. If your character has already played any Blakros scenario, you may of course already know and share some of this information.
Another check may be attempted, Knowledge (engineering or geography), regarding what your character may know about Numeria.

Kalendir |
Kalendir listens intently to the Venture Captain, completely caught off guard as the raven bursts through the window. The elf quickly grasps his longbow and has an arrow at the ready before the creature even has a breath out.
Easing his bow back down to the ground when he realizes what is going on he looks to the rest of his party for guidance. I am afraid that I know very little of this Blakro's museum or the outlying area, but this man Nigel sounds to be in dire trouble.
Sad Rock |
Sad stands dumbly in the back of the room, listening to the evil, mean VC Drenchy Dingy speak. The man has terrorize the young oread pathfinder in the past, and Sad is not anxious to repeat the experience.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 Know (Geog)
If Sad knows anything of Numeria, Nigel Aldain, or the Blackros family, he does not share it now...or risk speaking in front of Dringle Draino.
Sad, a dutiful Pathfinder, answered the summons (Sad likes his work, in general) when they came. He is always anxious about finding his next assignment.
Outside of looking anxious and wanting to leave, Sad says nothing.
* * *
To those who do notice Sad, standing in the back quietly: Sad is a somber, almost sad looking Oread. He wears fine dragonhide...that he often gets tangled about his stubby legs. He is quite proud of his dull club that he keeps at his waist.
Professor F |
In what appears to be simply a set of white pajamas and pink fuzzy slippers, a tiny wisp of a gnome snores rather meekly as Dreng begins introductions. At first, it appears the mission might be to arouse the sleeping elder...
The sudden arrival of the clockwork buzzard stirs the tiny old man slightly, who bobs his head eagerly as if he were resuming a thought mid-sentence.
"... today you have the luck of being in the company of the most well-trained, studied Pathfind---"
As if suddenly exhausted by his introduction, the small man's head slumps forward, chin-to-chest and an exceptionally loud snore escapes his withered lips.
"Zzzzz....."
"Quantium... *mumble mumble*..."
"Nex..."
Once again his eyes dart open, and he somehow seems to have absorbed the details regarding Nigel's imminent danger.
"The Blakros Museum! In danger you say? Well, what are we waiting for? If this undersized avian is any indicator, there may be space-widgety-gizmo-thingeys that need studying!"
Tywin-RK |
"W-W-Well it seems we certainly have to hurry right over there right?" A small halfling stammers. He's dressed in a slaves outfit with a nice looking piece of armor over it. His only identifying mark is a red glowing stone on his forehead.
Graxus |
Besides him a strange creature lies on the floor, looking bored at the group. It appears to be a centaur like being with two arms and four legs, though his face is as animalistic as the rest of him. If you didn't have any better idea he would appear to be a demon or devil. Red bony scales cover his body and his face appears to be that of a horned and armored dragon. On his back you see a trio of greatswords of different metals.
"Sounds like something fun is going on...heh heh heh."
It laughs with a low scrapy voice that appears to come from somewhere else altogether. When it speaks little flames exude from his mouth.

A lovely Keleshite woman sits beside the aged Venture-Captain, the veil of her hijab hanging loose to reveal a lovely face with large brown eyes accented with a heavy application of the finest kohl. She holds an elaborate pen, ready for the extensive paperwork, and you may note that her calligraphy is quite outstanding for even the most mundane of writing tasks. As the various Packminders Pathfinders arrive, she greets with them with a slight bow of her head, "As-salamu alaykum, I am known as Shahrazad and it is a pleasure to meet you. I delight in tales of all sorts and would love to hear yours as we work on these tasks."
Unfortunately, her wish to hear the story of each of her companions is disrupted by the arrival of the bird. "It seems I will have to hear of your tales later," she sighs, "but it may be that we will make our own in rescuing Nigel. We should make haste, it sounded like he was in much trouble."
As she says these last words, she draws a magnificent flute from her backpack and leads the way out into Absalom. Along the way, she plays a bright and spirtely tune that mimics the sound of human feet, slowly building to a steady, ground-eating pace.
Using 1 round of performance for Triple Time; takes 1 minute to perform and grants up to four allies +10' base land speed for 1 hour. Assume I do this as we're approaching the Museum. I'll go ahead and grant this to Sad Rock, Graxus, Tarquin, and George.
Graxus |
Graxus and tywin are instead of Tarquin, who is needed elsewhere.
Whilst underway Tywin sits on a saddle on Graxus' back along for the ride.
"Useful ability descendent of the fire plane. I like you already." Graxus grins as his step is increased.
Shahrazad, Teller of Tales |
Ah, ok, I missed that. Instead of Tarquin I'll give it to Professor F then. Trying to think of who will get the most use out of more mobility. I only get one/level so I can't cover everyone yet.
"Thank you, friend. I have always found that music and tales carry more than just metaphorical magic if you know how to use them."
Professor F |
The professor taps one of his slippered feet in loose rhythm to the fluting.
"Oh! This tune! I'll have you know I used to be quite the dancer in the Age of Enthronement. With the right medicine, I'm sure I could be again... now was it the red or blue pill for dancing?"
The professors lower lip quivers and he scratches his temple, heavily weathered with age spots, as he tries to recollect.
"I wouldn't want to take them both now, mind you... the other one is for intentional suicides, and I have no desires to tickle Zyphus's fancy this day!"
The professor begins rummaging around in the pockets of his bathrobe.
"Oh bother, perhaps one of you would be kind enough to carry me along to the museum."
The professor's eyes bulge from behind his thick-rimmed glasses (he's wearing smoke goggles, complete with the whopping Perception penalty at the moment)
"You there, young lady! You look strapping and like you could carry a dozen barrels of pickled yams to the harvest feast!"
The professor hobbles up to Sad Rock.
"How about a little liftsy-poo to this museum? I'll give you a lollipop once we're all done?"
The tiny gnome opens his arms like a toddler waiting for his mommy to carry him.
GM Lithrac |
When you leave the Grand Lodge in haste, another Pathfinder clumsily stumbles into Tywin. "Sorry, Sir, beg your pardon!" Moments later, he's gone in the labyrinthine halls of Skyreach.
Greetings, my moldable little mind,
In light of our recent reorganization, knowing the right people is quite vital. A pet of mine couldn’t help but overhear your conversation with Dreng and Nigel Aldain’s pathetic cry for help. Sad though he is, the elf controls access to a wealth of knowledge I want access to, and he would make a delightful addition to the Dark Archive’s ranks. Persuade him to join us. It shouldn’t pose much of a challenge with his ego, but he is a fickle and self-important little man. If you can find any way to ensure his true and lasting loyalty know that I will owe you a favor.
— Zarta Dralneen
A half-hour later, you arrive at the museum. The dark, blocky architecture of the Blakros Museum squats stubbornly between the more impressive government buildings of the Wise Quarter. One of the older buildings in Absalom, it remains unchanged and lacks the ornamentation of its newer neighbors. Imposing statues of armored men flank the entrance ahead, one partially obscured by a half-fallen banner reading “Grand New Exhibition!” A blue flicker intermittently tints the dark windows, casting long, dull shadows over the groomed gardens and fountain. A crumpled figure in bloodstained robes lies against the fountain’s edge. He is, of course, Nigel Aldain.
The curator of the Blakros museum lies in shock, oblivious of his surroundings until you come closer. He waves at you weakly and stammers: "Keep your heads down, fools! They could be everywhere! Are you Pathfinders? Did Dreng send you? It was... it was... it was in no way my fault! We took every precaution! Tomorrow was going to be such an event, unveiling the new museum, and absolutely nothing could go wrong! I personally inspected every artifact that came in, as both a scholar and a wizard. Everything was harmless as a newborn lamb! And anything the least bit suspicious went right into the lockbox! We even made sure those bizarre “robots” of theirs were neutralized!" At that moment, Aldain starts to faint.
You may try to rouse him with a Heal or Intimidate check, or leave him be if you prefer.
Sad Rock |
Sad Rock runs along, his dragonhide armor tangling his gait as he struggles to keep up with the others...that is, until he learns to keep pace with Shahrazad's music. And while he is still the slowest of the group, her music propels him. He marvels as how his stocky feet move along with the music.
"Sad like music," Sad says to Shahrazad in halting Common. It is clear that the Common tongue is not Sad's first, nor even second, language and he frequently gets confused by both definition and pronunciation.
"Me Sad Rock, but *not* monster. Sad good Packminder," Sad says defiantly, in case anyone was confused or had forgotten.
* * *
Sad looks at Nigel, thinking to draw his wand, then does so. He reaches over to touch Nigel.
"Iumdae sucks!" Sad says, invoking the power of his wand of CLW that he purchased from the Church of Asmodeus.
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 Healing (17/50 left)
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11 Heal check, if necessary
GM Lithrac |
Sad finds out that even though Nigel's injury to his hip is obviously painful, the wound has been cauterized and isn’t a threat to the elf ’s life. After the Oread has tended to the wound with his magical wand, Nigel barely thanks him but regains his strength and continues with a desperate tone.
"It was those vile cultists! They struck in the night like cowards! Oh, Abadar preserve my poor staff! None of us know how to fight. I went to find help and those Numerian monsters shot me in the back! I blacked out. Thought I’d gone on to the Boneyard, but when I awoke I called for assistance. I don’t know how many of my workers are still alive! Pendleton was in there! You have to do something. They could destroy the entire museum! Half of that exhibit belongs to you people!"
Sad Rock |
"Sad *not* monster," Sad iterates to Nigel, in case the man was confused. "Sad work for Drindle Dringle."
Sad looks around for any obvious danger, drawing his club and a whetstone. He spends a few moments rubbing out any sharp areas, making sure the clubby surface is clubby.
"Which way Sad go?" Sad asks Nigel. "What Pelletdown look like?"
Shahrazad, Teller of Tales |
Shahrazad keeps her flute in hand but pulls her veil over her face as she bends down to look at Nigel's wounds. "I am Shahrazad of the Pathfinder Society and you have already met Sad Rock, who is indeed not a monster. These are our companions."
After listening to the curator, she asks, "Who is Pendleton and who are these cultists who 'struck in the night'? And I am ashamed to admit that I do not know what a robot is; perhaps you can tell us more about exactly what went wrong."
GM Lithrac |
"Pendleton is my nephew—my wife’s sister’s middle son. Nice enough lad. Head in the clouds. Dhrami thought a season or two working in the museum might teach him a bit about foreign cultures before they actually let him roam the world and embarrass us all abroad."
"As for the cultists, I believe they are called the Technic League, some secret society out of Numeria. Clearly they did not like my acquisition of their artifacts. I assure you, almost no one told me how fanatically devoted they were to keeping their technology a secret. Especially robots. What, you don't know what that is? It’s one of those Numerian machines, sort of a golem, but it runs on lightning and needs little nodules in its head to think and obey. So we pulled those nodules out and threw them in the hazard crate. What? What's a hazard crate? Another gadget from Numeria, a large metal box painted in black and yellow. Doesn’t affect most magic, but it shuts down any Numerian relics placed inside. When the cultists attacked, I think the crate was damaged, but then it was utter chaos, and I was forced to fl... err, to operate a strategic fallback, of course. Please find Pendleton, or my in-laws will have my head!"
Graxus |
would like to interact but sleepy time. Please don't advance too far. Post in the morning :). Dratting wayfinder
Shahrazad, Teller of Tales |
Shahrazad looks to each of her companions in turn as she stands back up. "Do we need anything more from him? It seems we have a rescue mission on our hands, with the potential of dangerous technology and its cultist-like adopters."
Shahrazad then pulls Sad aside, "My dear, we are Pathfinders, not Packminders. Can you repeat it with me a few times? I just don't want other people you meet to get the wrong impression." Shahrazad is very patient with Sad and decides not to bring up the name of the Venture-Captain or anything else at this time, guessing that small steps will work best for the lumbering but lovable oread.
Kalendir |
Kalendir grasps his bow and makes sure that he arrows are ready to go.
We had better be on our guard. It looks like this group is a shoot first and no talk
Looking to Nigel Which way are these Numerian's?
Professor F |
After being set down at Nigel's feet, the professor wobbles for a bit before gaining some semblence of balance and squints at the others as they converse regarding matters inside the museum.
"Hogwash! The Technic League are a bunch of upstart radicals! All they need is a good clubbing to knock some sense into them!"
The professor gives the blurry form of the oread applying a whetstone to a club a curt nod.
Rolling up the sleeves of his pajamas, he turns and takes a half dozen steps away from the museum and back towards the Grand Lodge.
"The museum... it used to be right here, didn't it?"
Removing his glasses, he rubs them against his now folded sleeve before returning them to his face.
"Unless you mean to say they've stolen the entire museum?? Or perhaps dis-integrated it with some sort of massive disintegration ray?"
Tywin-RK |
"Ah you must be the knowledgeable master Aldain we heard so much about. Friends of ours say you are quite the researcher. And a powerful wizard to boot!" Tywin says with a timid voice after being told to keep his head down. Looking around anxiously for an incoming attack
"Yes, my masters say they are quite impressed with your work here...master...Aldain." Graxus adds with his raspy voice
--------------------------------
"Of course we will go rescue your nephew master Aldain. We wouldn't want you to lose your head over it eh? ha ha ha...." Tywin says making a bad attempt at a joke.
--------------------------------
When the team starts to head towards the building, Tywin and Graxus linger for a moment longer.
Tywin whispers to Aldain
"Our master the great Zarta Dralneen of the Dark Archives herself(!) would love to learn from you master Aldain. I was asked personally by her to invite you to join us."
diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
"Yes, We believe you and the Dark Archives share...similar...goals, no? You are sure that we will work extra hard recovering your blood relative if you agree to join our cause." Graxus adds with a grin, letting little flames escape from his fanged mouth.
GM Lithrac |
Rubbing his wounds, Aldain finally nods in recognition of the magical healing provided. He glances at Tywin, then nods again.
The elf keeps his head down, losing his bravado as he replies to Kalendir. "Follow the blood tracks..."
You enter the museum and reach the first gallery. An electric tang overpowers the room’s scent of polish and wax. Walls and pillars of hewn black stone support the heavy ceiling overhead and a lattice of lamps burning with a steady, white flame. Dozens of paintings, both stunning and lackluster, line the walls just beyond the museum’s grand doors. Various statues stand against the walls, while a towering bronze figure, arm outstretched with waves parting beneath him, almost scrapes the fifteen-foot ceiling at the chamber’s far end. Doors to the west are delicately labeled “Facilities,” while a sign over the double doors across the gallery boasts “Histories of the World.” Two sets of double-doors stand at the room’s north end, barely ajar. A banner hanging overhead proclaims “Secret Sorceries of a Savage Land,” while a more subdued sign below that reads “Grand Exhibition Hall.”

Shahrazad continues to weave her magical tale as she backs up and tries to trip one of the gearmen!
whip trip!: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
George Demonspawn |
Apologies for the late arrival! Totally missed this.
George sees that the left flank is unguarded and that Kalendir and Shahrazad are open to attacks.
He quaffs his Barkskin extract and moves to engage the creature. Mr. Chips squeaks at the metal monster and throws a walnut at the beast before scurrying back inside George's cloak.
Sad Rock |
Round 1, Init 18
Sad reacts negatively to the metalmen, having dealt with them before and not enjoyed the experience.
"No fight Sad! Sad like you, but less metal. But *not* monster!" Sad says drawing his club and trying to protect his fellow Pathfinders. His heavy shield was already at the ready.
Sad swings at the close metalman, using extra force as he learned last time.
1d20 + 8 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (16) + 8 + 1 - 1 = 24 to hit; (+bard,-PA)
1d6 + 4 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 1 + 2 = 11 damage.
* * *
Shahrazad then pulls Sad aside, "My dear, we are Pathfinders, not Packminders. Can you repeat it with me a few times? I just don't want other people you meet to get the wrong impression."
Lovable? Lolz.
Sad does his best to repeat after Shahrazad, mimicking her tone and pronunciation as best he can. He seems earnestly trying, his brow furled with effort. After a while, he looks around, worried and concerned.
"Cha-raisin? Maybe we need to go save Pelletdown now? Talky-time later?"
Professor F |
The professor, somewhere about halfway between gawking at the statues and returning to slumber, dribbles a bit on his pajamas before the rush of adrenaline brings him into combat form...
Which is to say, he stands a half-inch taller and adjusts his glasses while waving his arms in a frenzy.
"Wha, who---? Metal monsters are attacking us?! Let me see, here... No, too tall to be oreads... too short to be a golem..."
Holding up a finger as if to suggest the others wait a moment while he puzzles out their foes, the Professor's second hand takes on a life of it's own as it fetches a wand from a pocket.
"Oh, yes! Certainly a good idea..."
Waving the wand about, he prattles on.
"Blessings of MAH-AHM upon you all while I puzzle this out..."
Activate wand of bless (47 charges remain). Everyone acting after the Professor gets +1 on attacks and saves versus fear.
Graxus |
Graxus pulls away from the monsters and moves to a flanking position with Sad rock. From that distance he uses his long muscular arms to swing his greatsword at the construct while Tywin pokes at the construct with his lance.

GM Lithrac |
Kalendir's first arrow fail to break through the robot's metal plates, but the second arrow manages to inflict some damage.
Shahrazad attempts to trip the robot with her whip, but the hulking mass of metal is too massive to be brought down so easily.
George prepares for battle, as does the Professor. I'll apply buffs before anyone else acts, since in tabletop people would delay until the buff goes off.
Sad rock swings, hits, but doesn't manage to inflict much damage to the robot. The eidolon, flanking the machine with him, isn't much more successful.
One of the robots moves behind Sad Rock's back, and both strike the oread with powerful, merciless swings.

Now I can imagine why the other groups had to ran away. Could you please link the map up top?
Graxus again tries to slash at the golem.

dmg: 2d6 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (4, 3) + 6 + 1 = 14
But seeing it not being very effective Graxus thinks of something else and moves away, taking Tywin with him.
Tywin meanwhile greases the floor of the top golem (dc 14 reflex)
"Oh dear, it seems are weapons are not very effective against them. What shall we dooo?" Tywin asks a bit squimish.
George Demonspawn |
George wants to use his bombs, but he realizes that he will undoubtedly hit some of his teammates. He also realizes that his claw attacks will do nothing if the big hitters in this group can't damage the metal.
George uses his innate and augmented abilites to dodge attacks to protect the weaker individuals. If an opportunity presents itself, he will toss a bomb if it can damage only a single person besides the metal construct. Let me try a different tack! Get away from that far metalman!

Fire Damage: 4d6 + 5 ⇒ (4, 5, 5, 6) + 5 = 25
EDIT: It appears that Graxus moved away as I was typing. Thus, I will target the northern construct, after asking Sad Rock to 5' away to avoid damage.
Shahrazad, Teller of Tales |
"Use adamantine if you've got it; this metal is hard!"

Shahrazad continues her tale, "The ghul fell to the ground and professed to Gharib his faith in the forces of good and Gharib granted the ghul leave to spread these religions among his jinn armies. Gharib then returned to his homeland to find that his brother had turned against him and rallied armies to take over the city. . . ."

Shahrazad continues to use her whip against the metalman!

Kalendir |
I am afraid that I do not have any adamantine!
I have a feeling this is going to turn into an expensive season for pathfinder lol.
GM Lithrac |
Kalendir shoots two arrows, one of them chipping away pieces of metal from the robot. Tywin's serpentine servant bites into the other one, severing minor wires. As the eidolon moves away, the robot strikes again, dealing a serious wound to the outsider.
AoO, PA: 1d20 + 10 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 10 - 2 = 28

Damage, PA: 1d8 + 5 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 5 + 6 = 13 plus Electricity damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Once his eidolon is away from the robot's reach, Tywin conjures black grease to make the machine slip and fall on the ground.
Reflex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
The robot falls on the ground with a loud CLANG!
George is ready to lob a bomb at the northern robot the moment Sad Rock moves, whereas Shahrazad finally succeeds in wrapping the lash of her whip around the construct's leg. Moments later, another loud CLANG can be heard, and the robot lies on the ground.
Initiative order - round 2 - the bold may act!
1. Sad Rock, Tywin & eidolon, Professor F, Kalendir, George (R), Shahrazad
2. Robots
George Demonspawn |
EDIT: This should be the proper attributes with the buffs. Bomb - RTA: 1d20 + 11 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 21; Fire Damage: 4d6 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (4, 5, 5, 6) + 6 = 26
Sad Rock |
One of the robots moves behind Sad Rock's back, and both strike the oread with powerful, merciless swings.
Spear, PA, flanking: 1d20 + 10 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 10 - 2 + 2 = 23
Damage, PA: 1d8 + 5 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 5 + 6 = 18 plus Electricity: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Sad can use an immediate action to call his rock friend (the ground) to intercede on his behalf, casting Stone Shield (link).
Sad grunts and prepares for the vicious flanking attacks.
* * *
Round 2, Init 18
Sad knows better than to be flanked, it's not only his Pathfinder training, but he hates being rocked.
Still, he is brave, taking a 5' step, while loosing his shield (move action), and dropping it (free action) so he can grip his club with two hands as he swings.
1d20 + 8 + 1 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (5) + 8 + 1 + 2 - 1 = 15 to hit;
1d8 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 6 + 3 = 16 damage.
AC is 18 now. HP is either 14/35 or 35/35.
Professor F |
Round 2
Depending on Sad's state of HP, the Professor would either heal his ally, or try to contribute to the damage brought to bear on the remaining robot. This post assumes Sad did not take the damage.
The professor rubs his eyes and shakes his head.
He could almost swear he saw the massive machines tear into the oread.
"Blessed Brigh... I'm sorry to have to beg you the favor, but these robots seem to have woken up on the wrong side of their rejuvenation chambers..."
With a minor nod to his deity, the professor summons a fiery bolt that he lobs at the lone remaining machine.
Fire bolt (ranged touch): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14 for 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 (fire damage, 5 of 6 remain today)
Graxus |
Graxus has reach, so unless these also have that, he wouldnt have gotted aoo'd. I kept both of them at 5 ft distance from the metal robots, hugging the west wall. And hes using his greatsword currently :), the reach comes from an evolution and only applies to the greatsword, not the bite.
GM Lithrac |
Pain, the problem is that immediate actions should be called the moment the attack is called but before the results are known. So how do you know against which attack to raise your shield? I suggest the following: roll 1d2, if you roll 1 you raised your shield against the correct attack, if it's a 2 you raised it against the other robot's attack. Does it sound fair to you?
GM Lithrac |
After thinking things over this evening, I decided I'd allow your shield for this round as you played it, but please read the Discussion thread for my take on how to use it henceforth.
Graxus flees to the corner of the room, while the robots strike Sad Rock. The oread instinctively calls upon the earth to protect him and raises a stone shield to protect himself from the impending doom. The wall shatters, but Sad Rock is safe - for now. The oread strikes back with both hands, bu sadly his aim is poor and he misses the hulking mass of metal.
Feeling reassured about his companion's fate, the Professor shoots a firebolt at one of the robots, but again the metal plates protect the machine of death. You hit, but its hardness reduced damage to 0.
Seeing Sad Rock moving away from the northern robot, George lobs a bomb at the machine, but the other robot - right next to him, uses that opportunity to strike at the alchemist. AoO, since you're next to it.
AoO vs George, PA, prone: 1d20 + 10 - 2 - 4 ⇒ (20) + 10 - 2 - 4 = 241d8 + 5 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 5 + 6 = 14 plus Electricity damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Confirmation: 1d20 + 10 - 2 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 10 - 2 - 4 = 202d8 + 10 + 12 ⇒ (4, 8) + 10 + 12 = 34 Luckily not a crit, thanks to its fall earlier this round!
The bomb explodes on the other robot, inflicting some damage to it.
Both robots stand up (the southern robot incurs AoOs from Sad Rock, George (claws) and Shahrazad (whip)) resuming their pincer attack against the oread.
Sad Rock, Two attacks are coming your way, do you wish to use stone shield, provided you have one prepared?
Sad Rock |
Round of AoO
Fighting for his rocky life, Sad takes the opportunity to fight back.
1d20 + 8 + 1 + 2 - 1 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 8 + 1 + 2 - 1 + 1 = 26 to hit; (bard, flank, power attack, bless)
1d6 + 6 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 6 + 1 + 3 = 13 damage. (bard, PA)
Still AC 18.
I think we worked it out on the OOC, two attacks coming Sad's way.
GM Lithrac |
Sad's attack strikes true, and the oread's massive bludgeon crushes the robot's metal plates!
Attack, PA, flank: 1d20 + 10 - 2 ⇒ (2) + 10 - 2 = 101d8 + 5 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 5 + 6 = 16 plus Electricity damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4 *miss*
Attack, PA, flank: 1d20 + 10 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 10 - 2 = 231d8 + 5 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 5 + 6 = 16 plus Electricity damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5 *hit*
Initiative order - round 3 - the bold may act!
1. Sad Rock, Tywin & eidolon, Professor F, Kalendir, George (R), Shahrazad
2. Robots
George and Shahrazad still have an AoO to take against the southern robot.
EDIT: Dreadfully sorry, I forgot the Acrobatics check from the northern robot to exit the greasy area!
Acrobatics DC 10: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12 Alright, no changes.
George Demonspawn |
George claws the robot as a reflex, but realizes that it is very ineffective.
Claw AoO: 1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 11 + 2 = 17
Damage: 1d4 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 Even if it hits it does nothing... :(
George takes the same action as before, stepping out of reach of the beast and tossing a bomb at it. Just keep moving it around so I can lob bombs at it.
Bomb-RTA: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15
Damage: 4d6 + 5 ⇒ (6, 3, 4, 6) + 5 = 24
