As he feels the Dance of Death filling his mind, Kyun shakes his head and lays into the creature, his mace slamming into it and cracking bones (crit confirmed). The blade that follows slips harmlessly between two bones as Gneau swings wildly on the other side.

Gneau strikes lower down, solidly damaging the creature, while Seidr lights it up, charring the bones.

Pasha's spear connects with bone this time, but slides harmlessly to the side, the point leaving a light scratch but no real damage.

Suna frowns as her naginata's solid hit barely cracks a rib on the awful creature. She watches Gneau's flail smash ribs into fragments, and she realizes she needs a different approach. I will destroy you, false snake, she hisses in Nagaji.

"Hmf!" Pasha scowls at the amazing damage she'd done. That is to say - none. Which was the opposite of what she'd wanted, really. A quick look around informs her that using a bomb here could be deadly to her allies, too.
She flips the spear, attempted to smash the creature with the wooden haft of it, a sort of makeshift club.

Kyun comes to just as the creature is distracted by Pasha's improvised attack. Seizing the opportunity, he lands a crushing blow, scattering bones across the floor as the beast loses integrity and falls apart! A few seconds go by before Gneau is once again able to move freely.
Out of combat. If you're curious, that was a necrophidious

Healer's Way #3: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Well, at least the good news is that no one would create something like that if there weren't something interesting to guard.

![]() |

Spinning and settling the butt of her spear back onto the floor, Pasha nods. "Annoying at best." She frowns slightly and then adds, "What was that?"

![]() |

"Thanks be to your healing touch, my dear," Gneau says to Seidr wholeheartedly. "I'm glad that beast's touch of paralysis wasn't permanent. I can finally move again. I think Arshea would be most disappointed if I lost that ability, as would several lady friends of mine, and a few men as well." He winks suggestively, then begins a search, suggested by Seidr's comment.

Searching thoroughly, you find nothing of interest in this magically-shaped cavern but the bones of your fallen foe. You do, however, see the flickering of what appears to be a flame farther ahead. Traveling further into the cavern (I assume) you come to a small alcove of polished stone, containing several desks. A single alexandrite gem rests among the neatly filed papers on one desk, emitting a soft luminescence that brightens the small room.
The notes themselves are mostly written in an unintelligible dialect, even for any of you that speak Azlanti, and seem to be coded as well. However, you can glean enough from the few documents written in Common to realize that these are likely Eylysia's notes, and that the Grand Lodge would likely be very interested to have a chance to decode these.
As you leave the caverns and emerge back into the main chamber, you hear...

![]() |

...nothing. No one seems to be in the hall. As you exit back to the surface, you see the crowd dispersing. A spectator passing by says to a companion "Well, that was disappointing! He didn't even make it halfway across the gorge! What a fool. I do feel bad for the horse, though.".
You take the notes back to the Lodge, where they do indeed create quite a stir. Dreng asks you to write up a full report as soon as possible, while the details are fresh in your mind. Janira is fascinated by your tale and invites you all for drinks a The Wounded Wisp while you tell her all about it.
That's the end of this one. I'll get chronicle sheets up later this afternoon.

![]() |

Pasha nods, moving on to this next task, getting as many of the details down as she can. Once she's finished, she turns it in and takes a moment to examine the others.
She gives them an acknowledging nod and slips away. She'd contributed more in some places and less in others. The nature of teamwork - There's more sense to this whole cooperating thing than I'd thought, she considers as she leaves.
Thank you GM Dennis for the excellent run. c:

Gneau seems satisfied with the results, at least partially so... "Master Dreng, I do hope we will get to learn the results of the research to be done... I'd be interested as to what she recorded here that she failed to report in her lifetime, and even more so, why she did these things. I hope we do get to learn of it in time."
He bids to the others a hearty farewell, and says, "I hope to see you all again in the future! Now, I must go, as a young lady awaits my pleasure... and her own... at home." He heads off whistling happily.
