I don't mean to nag, but you used a spell slot and my swift action and then just stood there. I was a little sad. ;_;
I like the characterization of Wendir. Let us show him the error of his ways.

The Home Office is hiring! We even offer Dental!
Now one may wonder what the Home Office is.
During a three-parter last year (Season Six), in part one there's supposed to be a whole give-and-take investigation scene where the party is supposed to do some tussling with locals, etc, etc. Our halfling bard (along with assists from the party) figuratively NUKED the DC for Diplomacy and Bluff even with the difficulties, by claiming every time we were asked what authority we had by proclaiming we were 'from the Home Office' and 'who's in charge, here?'
As a result, we kind of short-cut around some of the possible encounters, and when we were having our conversation with the
and a key NPC, we continued on this thread, and when we were accused of
When the GM said to clarify how that could work in a plausible way
Because we were *exceptionally well ahead on time because of this* we had a whole side-chatter adventure when we uncovered some crucial information, putting all of it into bureaucratese, with such things as 'Bob from Accounts Receivable has been engaging in harassing behaviour and wants me to take the first watch. I'm documenting this in the event that something happens', etc, etc.
According to our GM, we made

No worries. I'll try to be more clear when I use abilities that affect the party. I tend to forget that not everyone knows my character and spells as well as I do.

So, back to Doom Girl and her alter ego, Doris.
___
A slumped over woman in glasses and a frumpy coat pulls out a clipboard, and says in a nasal voice: "I'm Doris, from accounting. The home office wants me to do an audit of a field operation. This will be so exciting! Last week, I was doing inventory of the barrels full of Cure Light Wounds Wands in the stockroom. This week, I get to see an actual monster-infested ruin!"
Doris does seem to have a backpack, a rapier and a whip handy. "Oh, these? Accounting's a rough business. Best to be prepared."
___
Huh. Either I'll have to actually put a point in 'Profession Accountant' or a lot of points into Bluff or Perform: Acting.

Is Doris joining the Exchange? Or is Doom Girl more interested in supporting the Home Office's Grand Lodge goals?

It's hard to say. I'm thinking Doom Girl might be my first Liberty's Edge character.

The best part of being in Accounting?
You can legitimately set up payroll for your alter ego, if they have to go on a mission without the social cover.

Accountant social identity sounds brilliant! A friend of mine has a vigilante, Twilight Tengu, whose social identity is a clerk--with Profession (clerk)--and it works brilliantly, so I highly recommend it.

It took longer to type that out than my epic ode.
I much prefer rp. MUCH.

Keep your main attacks that you use over and over in a google doc, and cut and paste them, adjusting for buffs.
For example, my combat awesomeness is available with just a ctrl-V:
Powerful Charge: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22
Damage: 4d6 + 20 ⇒ (4, 3, 3, 3) + 20 = 33
Right Talon: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
Damage: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Left Talon: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
Damage: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Bite: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
Damage: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

You can put them on your profile, too. Dice rolls don't get evaluated on that page, so they are ready to copy and paste!

Naw. Bot Buddy only takes you over if you want him to. Otherwise he leaves you alone.

Well, I broke the group who played with me tonight.
Group: "What are you bringing?"
Me [nasal voice]: "Hi. I'm Doris. From Accounting."
Dervish Dancer Bard: "... You're what?"
Me: [gives Doris spiel] "But that's just my public identity. My Avenger identity is DOOM GIRL!!"
Group: [laughing] "Okay, that's awesome."
I kept the Doris identity going until we saw goblins in the distance, at which point I reversed my reversible cloak and charged into action. I had enormous fun swinging off roof beams with my prehensile whip, parrying and riposting bad guys and being ridiculous.
I am soooo keeping this character!

At my last game of Mummy's Mask, I averaged a 4 on the die over 15 rolls. Less if I took out the one outlying 18.
The Random Number Goddess can be vicious.

I really love how the NPCs have turned out in this game. They all became complex interesting people the moment they started interacting with all of you!
I have the most awesome group of players EVER.

Yes, even Wendir is *someone* He's not just a number! He may even have a last name!

I agree. Hmm does just the best job of adding those little personal touches that make every adventure memorable.
What was the mimic's name, Hmm? And our android friend that we had to dismantle unfortunately? Those two were great! And I think Wendir might make the list!

His name was Maurice. I linked to his intro... Oh man, I think that Maurice the Mimic may have been my favorite NPC ever. I loved that the Risen from the Sands group adopted him.
That was the only saving grace to that turkey of a module... no NPC tactics, so I was free to make Maurice awesomely weird.
And yes, Guy from Galaxy Quest was great. I loved that they included a red shirt and gave him a real personality and backstory...

Excellent day at the convention. And good play here. I usually wake spirits up, but I could put a couple to rest, too. We should rest at some point as well.
| GM Hmm |
Glad you had a good time at your con!
I agree that you all should consider resting. The module assumes that you go back to the Inn and rest between each segment. You do have those rooms free of charge!

The other benefit of going back to town is giving warnings out and getting people to boil/purify water/etc... if it's not too late.

This is why you like to play Paladins, right? That whole immunity to disease thing???
BTW, Evie, you totally made me look up both Korada and Ofudas, and then go off researching prayers... You tempted me with research. Librarians almost always fail their will saves against the chance to look stuff up!
Get well, sweetie.

Does Baaldryn have an opinion either way? Approach the ghosts or go back to town?

I and the Nesher brothers await your group decision!
However with several dedicated divines in your party, I'm expecting that y'all are eventually going to wind up taking care of the old coots.

Just FYI, in incorporeal form and with his buffs, Yojimbo is at 31 AC versus incorporeal touch attacks, and he can attack them for full damage.
Definitely should let him tank this one.

Oh man, these tunnels are nasty!!! I wish they weren't so horrid for all of you.

Thank you for catching that, Kiku! As a GM, alas, I make tons of errors. Fortunately, I'm good about correcting them. Thank you all for being patient with me.

Would just like to point out for the record that Wei isn't expecting his channel to do Kyra-level damage, it's more a 'keep 'em honest' and 'small things add up over time' approach.
So when they easily make their Will saves, that's actually the expected result. :)
Wei Ji

I'm loving this, it's bringing a smile to my face and laughter to my heart.
We all agree we need to rest, but we have so many sleeping options (unlike say, GenCon) that we can't seem to focus on just one, plus NPCs to worry about.

Lol, Wei, I can't imagine why! I went back and corrected to the word I meant to type. Maybe it's more legible now. Shel is just worried about those little spheres. She is figuring they are strongly magical like the one we have.

I enjoy the leisurely pace and opportunity for discussion of this first part. It brings out the horror of what happened.
I'm kind of hoping the action of the module picks up a bit for the climax, but it has be spot on for this discovery phase.
