GM Hmm
So some updates.
I have a fridge.
I have a vacuum.
I have a cast.
Everything with the cast is taking eight times longer these days, but I'm starting to get around, albeit with reduced mobility. I have, however, been approved for biking with the cast, which will really help me start getting around if I can make it work. I'll be doing a trial run on it today, provided I can figure out how to get my tires pumped up with my gimp leg. I plan to drag out the step stool to the garage this morning so that I can sit and pump.
Would you guys be okay with a slightly slow start here? I'm going to try to give you quality posts, but may have to work up to quantity.

As impatient as I am to be playing, I don't mind starting a little slowly.
This game is so much fun because of the high quality posts from everyone playing. Take whatever time you need.

Take your time, Hmmm. Don't stress about us. We'll be here when you are ready.
Azara Emberkin

I'm fine with a later start.
I'm actually trying to cut down on my forum activity, and I'm hoping to finish two of my PbPs soon.
My ideal setup would be 1) GMing one module or scenario (check), 2) playing in one AP (check), and 3) playing in one module or scenario (of which I'm currently in 4).
I still really love PbPs, but between them and the other forums I'm regularly in I've found that I just spend too much time online.

I'm in about the same boat. :)
Plus, it is Spring!
GM Hmm
1 person marked this as a favorite.
Okay, I think I'll hold out until next Tuesday and see if we get a gameday announcement. If not, let's start, but slow to give those of you who are overcommitted with pbp the opportunity to have a couple of your scenarios to close. Does that sound like a fair plan to all? I want us to all play again, but I have to admit that the stupid foot is distracting, and spring is out there for those of you who actually can walk out there and enjoy it.
Hmm

It is so beautiful in Kentucky right now! It was about 75 yesterday and they are calling for about 78 today. I hope spring is here for good now!
GM Hmm
Yeah, it was in the 70's in Minnesota. In March. 33 degrees warmer than average... Whoa.
Azara Emberkin
|
This has been a record-breakingly warm winter for us as well. No frost. Temperatures in the 70s. Super wet January (no complaints; we're in a drought), super dry February (50% of the snowpack from January melted), and in the first week of March we've already had as much rain as we usually get all month!).
Very strange times, here.
GM Hmm
2 people marked this as a favorite.
So I've told that announcements are coming, soon.
What the announcements are, I don't know.
What soon means, I don't know.
But they're coming. Soon!
Why this amuses me so much, I have no idea.
Hmm
GM Hmm
Oh how I wish I was downing margaritas. That sounds very nice. So how are all of you doing? Still overbooked?
Hmm
GM Hmm
2 people marked this as a favorite.
Hmm looks up from her strawberry Margarita. Around her are several empty glasses, assorted painkillers, paper unbrellas and what not. Her broken foot is elevated, and she's waving to the cabana boys for another round.
_____
Oh, you're all still here. Good!
So in absence of the mysterious announcements that are coming (soon!) I've started prepping for all of you. If you notice, I have a new slide (mostly of generic maps of Dustpawn) in my header. If we actually get an actual announcement (or a bolder intimation of one) by Tuesday, we'll hold off until the next game day. If we don't, we'll move forward with this adventure, but slow enough that those of you who are overbooked should have time to finish off their current scenarios / modules.
I find it oddly appropriate that Doom Girl, my GM Alias, shall be running a scenario with "Doom" in the title.
"DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!"

I'll leave it to the rest of you to decide whether she's had one too many of the cocktails she's already imbibed today.

Next week is finals week and half the things are due on Monday, and I still have a big research paper to finish and another final later in the week D:

Concentrate on your papers, and good luck on your tests. I understand that slow = good. I'm trying to put in prepwork so that this can run fairly smoothly when we do get going, but I need a slow start as well.
Slow or not, I'll endeavor to bring you quality if not quantity.

Hmmph. I'll admit that it's not Tuesday yet, but there's not even been a hint of an announcement. I think we'll be starting up on Tuesday after all. S-s-s-lowly.
Hmm
PS Y'all excited about the new Seeker arc? I haven't even got a character up that high yet!
Grigorii

I'm almost there with my Rogue, but I think I'll be doing Eyes with him. Grigorii will be my next highest after that, or my cartomancer witch.

Calling All Seekers!
The Pathfinder Society Roleplaying Guild has produced a huge number of great adventures over the years, but few can compare to series Eyes of the Ten, a four-part extravaganza of high-level play and dire revelations about the Society and its enemies. Just ask any veteran of the campaign. When Eyes of the Ten survivors meet up at conventions, they excitedly swap stories of "Here's how we handled this faction mission," "We saved that NPC by doing this," and "Yeah, that monster nearly ended us—twice." A lot of that excitement comes from the powerful story and wild destinations, but a big share of the exhilaration comes from something we do all too rarely in Pathfinder Society: play high-level characters. In fact, nearly 5 years have passed since the last installment of Eyes of the Ten released. In that time the campaign has included a few higher-level opportunities in interactive specials and sanctioned high-level printed adventures, but the organized play program hasn't really published more high-level content that it can call its own.
In Season 7 we want to change that. We've assembled an all-star team of writers for our new three-part Seeker arc All for Immortality, which debuts this April. As in Eyes of the Ten, this new story takes the PCs to exciting new locations, many of which I've always wanted to visit but could never justify in a lower-level adventure. Likewise, you'll clash with powerful villains we dared not face before and deal a powerful blow to some of the Society's oldest enemies. The action begins in Thuvia with Pathfinder Society Scenario #7-20: All for Immortality, Part 1: First Taste of Eternity by veteran organized play author Thurston Hillman. Now that the secret's out, you'll see the product page appear soon.

Awesome!
I too want to run Eyes of the Ten first. Alie is 10th level, so I am hoping to get her to 12th in a year or so and get in on a game of it.

I've played and GMed Eyes of the Ten. It takes a little adjusting because of its age, and it has Faction Missions that are somewhat required to make sense of the greater plot, so hopefully you have a skilled GM (and a good group).
I have 8 (soon to be 9) characters at level 12+. Not sure who I want to take through the new Seeker arc. I'd probably prefer to play the 14-15 Tier over the 12-13. That leaves me with either my Rogue-15, who I was really saving for Tomb of the Iron Medusa, or my Warpriest-14. My Druid is at 13.2, so I could theoretically use him, too. He's the character that I want to take all the way to 20th. He's a Saurian Shaman, and I can't wait for the ability to summon Colossal-sized dinosaurs!
I even bought 6" acrylic discs and Dollar Store dinosaur toys to use as figurines =D.

You know what? After reading that little blurb and seeing "Goaters" I somewhat wish I could play my Paladin of Rowdrosh, the Divine Herdsman. He uses Handle Animal for his Day Job, and every gold piece I earn through it I spend on livestock trade goods.
He has a large herd of goats, some cattle, and enough chickens to start up a fast food chain.
Guess I know who I'll apply the GM credit to ;-)

Hah! I'm in the same boat.
I have a hunter--Dolph, Son of a Shepherd--who has a goat animal companion named Victor, and he will have to get the credit when I run this :3

Maybe we can arrange for your goatherding characters to have a brief cameo appearance, leaving town just after they a conference event at the Goater co-op.
And now I'm imagining Goat Con!

- Cheesy

I loved Azara's reaction. I do wonder if there are any helpful halflings out there who will aid her diplomacy roll...

Ack! I have been following the Discussion thread, but not the Gameplay thread. Even though I dotted (and deleted), I wasn't getting an alert for new posts. I only just now realized that things are rolling along. I will catch up today (but probably not be able to post until tonight). In the meantime, please feel free to bot Juniper's rolls. I'm so sorry.

Don't feel bad. I lost track of discussion a while back, when you were all congratulating me on my 50 dollar amazon coupon. I didn't realize any posts were happening in here...
We'll see you tonight. Remember... We're posting s-s-slow for the first week or two, until you guys get in a better space. I will roll things forward again tonight. Dustpawn, ho!
Meanwhile, if your characters want to purchase something before you go... Now's the time while you're still in Magnimar. So if you want those +3 goatbane spears, now is the time to pick them up.
<g>
I'm so awful.

All caught up. I'm sad that I missed the introduction, but oh well. It's my own damn fault. And this is the third PbP that I've had that happen in. :(
GM Hmm
Don't worry, Juniper. There is still plenty of introducing and scene-setting in this one.
BTW, if anyone can't move their figures on the slide, that's okay. Just let me know what room your character wants in your post. I'll also be moving you to Dalviss's briefing fairly soon. He just wanted to be kind and give you all places to put your stuff first.
Feel free to ask any other questions you might have about the layout too.

Looks like the share settings are set to view-only. Where I end up will depend on who takes what room and for what reasons.

Fixed it so you all can edit. Try it now.
GM Hmm
If you guys don't want to claim rooms I can assign them randomly so we can move on to the the briefing. This isn't that big a deal. I just figured that Azara would love to explain to all of you why she needs a deluxe room without your dirty luggage in it...

Since it's down to a choice of 2 rooms for Juniper, I just arbitrarily gave her the room with the view.
I'm composing, but I'm a little distracted today because my daughter leaves for France on a school trip tomorrow. Je suis tres exciteé!

Sorry I havne't been following this either.
Hmm - hope your daughter has a great time in France! I wish I could go on a trip there LOL
GM Hmm
So with the google drawing of Leeara's hideaway, can you guys move your figures on it? I normally prefer slides, but I was trying to get this map to a decent size where you guys could move around and such.
Hmm
Grigorii
|
I can move around just fine.
As for approach, I'm expecting Harsk, Kiku, and Shel to prefer some patient observation before we go exploring. Whereas Azara, Juniper, and Grigorii favor a more ...direct... approach not far removed from blundering in and asking for forgiveness after.
I, for one, am open to being persuaded by some IC arguments.

So, crazy morning. I've got a PM to The Fox to let him know that we can be flexible. I don't know whether he'll see it though.
Meanwhile, I've been dealing with my own bit of crazy.
My daughter is in Paris right now for a school trip. She and her classmates passed through the Brussels airport only two days ago. She's fine. I know she's fine. But because humans can be irrational as hell, I'm shaking right now. This was a near miss. I know you have to release children into the world. You cannot keep them rolled in bubble wrap. You need to let them be strong and free, to explore the world and rise and fall and make their own mistakes.
I know this.
But oh it's hard to remember that right now. I'm immersing myself in normal activities and trying to reground. It's hard.
So do me a favor... Show me what you guys can do with giant frogs and make me laugh, okay?
Hmm

UPDATE:
Since initiative hasn't been rolled yet, it sounds like I can let The Fox drop without dinging him with a reduced rewards chronicle sheet.
Juniper has stated she doesn't want botting. She'd rather just drop and play this some other time. Bot Buddy is sad.
I've already got someone asking if he can join this campaign, and I didn't advertise it... It's Wei Ji the Learner. I'm a good enough GM that I can find an in character reason to recall Juniper and introduce a 9th level Eagle Knight. Would you guys be cool if I did this?
For all these reasons...
This encounter is on hiatus until tonight.

I'm fine with a new player. I've gamed with Wei Ji before and I have generally been pleased, best I can recall.
GM Hmm
So here's the thought. Juniper leaves a roleplaying hole, but I think Wei Ji could bounce off Azara and the rest of you equally well. Just in a different manner.
Also, I would love for you guys to have more firepower going into post frog encounters. Let's see what happens here, and what you guys can build together.

That make sense. I love Shel, but when a fight breaks out, she doesn't do much to be honest. Another member could only help.
