After some asking around, Scarlet gets rumours of a man dealing in contraband, called Gilligam. Gilligam is a tall, obese man with a scraggly red chin-beard, currently in a corner of the marketplace.
There's two men approaching Castien, and it looks like they're up to no good, perhaps planning to con the elf.

Oh cool, they steal a purse off a merchant, plant it on us and then we look like nasty Pathfinders - no doubt there is a few guards to dob us in to nearby.
Scarlet and Poppy, used to being the ones stealing the purses from an unsuspecting crowd begin to move towards the men innocently and bumps into the coin carrier. "Oh sorry there!" she pats him down, making sure he is ok.

Scarlet snatches the purse from the con artist, who looks distraught. He hesitates for a moment, casting a glance back at his companion, who shouts something in a stammer worse than Castien's eeh.. T-t-t-thieves! Eh... I've s-s-seen... eh... m-m-molthuni spies! Y-y-yes!, while his companion slashes a dagger at the purse Scarlet is now holding.
The bystanders quickly control the situation, throwing out the two con artists before Scarlet can realize that the purse is filled with Molthuni coins. This could have been quite the hairy framing attempt.

When the party finally locates Gilligam and ask him about narcotics, he answers
“I knew this was going to come back to bite me! You’re here to break my legs or something, right? Well you don’t have to—I’ll tell you everything! Just don’t hurt me! I used to buy from Guaril Karela; now I buy from whoever is stealing from Karela. Hey, what’s it matter to me? When I meet them, it’s always on the north end of town, so I figure they must have a hideout up north somewhere. Please, that’s all I know!”

Adrianna looks at the note and then passes it to the next person who wants to examine it. "We can always arrive a little earlier and scout the place on our own. Pick a good hiding spot to see who comes along. If it's legitimate, we are in the right place int he right time. If it is a trap, perhaps we can turn the tables!"

Bones looks over the note, "I guess we will find out if it is authentic an hour before midnight. It wouldn't hurt if we checked the place out two hours before midnight."

Although Molthune blocks much of the trade to and from Tamran, the city still does brisk business with other Nirmathi settlements up the river, and there’s plenty of shing to be done well before reaching Molthune’s interdictors. As a result, the docks still bustle with activity during the day. At night, however, things are much quieter: A few small lanterns illuminate a rickety stretch of shoreline, and the smell of moldering wood fills the air. Ramshackle buildings line the shore, while short wooden docks protrude into the gently lapping waters of the lake.
It's two hours before midnight, but the place seems mostly abandonded.
