MI, Rasamoro: 1d3 ⇒ 3
MI, Svetlana: 1d2 ⇒ 2
Rasamoro and Svetlana put the pressure on the fiend-in-duplex, but their formidable attacks only serves to strip the last two mirror images off the monster. Castien gives the fiend a taste of its own medicine by conjuring illusory elf-doubles, while Jhalan invokes the Irriseni magic of his black mantle, all under the inspiring song song of Marra. Jhalan misses by the thinnest of margins.

Thanks to the patience and supreme hunting skills of Jhalan, he manages to adjust a wasted blow, and turn it into something more fruitful.

Adrianna launches another javelin at the creature, but more in an effort to distract it and aid her companions' attacks...
Aid Another: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
However, she throws wide to avoid hitting her friends and thus has no impact whatsoever.
DM Kludde |
Adrianna's javelin flies wide as the two-headed creature bear down for another set of strikes on Castien. A powerful slash opens a deep wound in the archer's arm, and the creature cackles with so much infernal glee that the second attack misses completely.

I've also realized that I've forgot to roll the sneak attack dice, but nevermind, that'll teach me! This reminds me of a very similar situation.
Emboldened by his recent success, Jhalan strikes again, this time remembering all his moves.
Silversheen Fauchard, Mantle, Study, Inspire, Flanking, Sneak Attack: 1d20 + 10 + 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 10 + 1 + 1 + 2 = 301d10 + 6 + 1 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (6) + 6 + 1 + 1 + (3) = 17
Rasamoro Kensori |
With mighty weapons striking creature from both sides, Rasamoro decided to try. His blow was totally of target.
Kukri (-defensively, -combat spell): 1d20 + 4 - 4 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 4 - 4 - 2 = 4
Disappointed he stepped away and said several arcane words, using right moment, not to be catched unguarded.
cast defensively: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
His kukri suddenly started to glow and transformed into long whip, which he send around creatures legs. Trip: 1d20 + 2 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 2 + 10 = 19
from spell description I got chance to do trip attempt with spell cast, but I don't know about AoOs.
Due to fighting defensively my AC is 20. Hopefully, I can hold one blow :)
DM Kludde |
Jhalan and Svetlana tag-team the Asura, and start inflicting quite some damage from well-aimed stabs and cuts. Rasamoro tries to stab the Asura as well, but cannot penetrate its defences. He steps out of reach, and tries to trip up the beast, but only barely escapes from entangling his weapon between the legs of the abomination.

Adrianna tries to leverage her expertise in grappling opponents, but the double-headed, dual-torsoed monster is too much for her to handle, and she doesn't manage a grip.
Marra comes in to strike with her scimitar, but its hard to place a good swing in the crowded room, and hers goes wide.

Castien Galondiir |
Sorry for the delay. Rolling to see if the Asura hit Castien or one of his images...
Image (1 for real): 1d5 ⇒ 1 Ah, well...
Determined to dissuade the creature from its continued assault, Castien swings his longsword at the creature.
Standard action: Attack creature
Attack (Longsword, Inspire Courage): 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 5 + 1 = 23
Damage (Longsword, Inspire Courage): 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 2 + 1 = 10
DM Kludde |
Castien retaliates for the painful strike to his person by slashing at the infernal monster. A solid hit causes blood to flow, but the wound closes almost immediately.
The Asura keeps pressing on, but feels the threat of the slayer and the pit fighter, so decides to focus his attack on Jhalan, going all out on him.
Kukri, Jhalan: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 231d4 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Kukri, Jhalan: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 261d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Claw, Jhalan: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
Claw, Jhalan: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Adrianna tries to grapple the creature once more, and almost succeeds at doing so. Jhalan's fauchard misses by a narrow margin, and creates the opening for Svetlana to bring in a masterful slash. Marra's blow, on the other hand, is easily evaded by the dual-headed monster.

Jhalan |
Jhalan takes a careful step back and stands ready to hack the asura the moment someone flanks the creature with him.
Silversheen Fauchard, Combat Expertise, mantle, study, inspire, flanking, sneak attack: 1d20 + 8 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 8 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 2 = 291d10 + 6 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 6 + 1 + 1 + 1 + (1) = 11
Rasamoro Kensori |
Rasamoro understood, that only magic currently can help him to hit this creature. He stepped away from asura, took wand again, waived it to activate power of inner insight.
5ft step, take out wand of true strike, cast
DM Kludde |
Castien fires two arrows at the beast, one for each side, and manages to hit each of them, firmly planting an arrow in each of the torsos.
Rasamoro prepares for his next strike by casting a spell from his wand.
The creature then slashes at Jhalan again. A brief swipe from of demented side misses with the kukri, and causes a small lesion with the claw, which startles Jhalan just enough to get a curved blade between a slit in his breastplate.
Kukri, Jhalan: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (18) + 15 = 331d4 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Kukri, Jhalan: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Claw, Jhalan: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13

Confirm, Jhalan: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (10) + 15 = 251d4 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

Map is messy, probably should be updated by GM.
Jhalan is not in creature's reach, Svetlana is.
Rasamoro finished spell and jumped forward, slashing creature.
Kukri (+true strike, +flank, +inspire, -defensive, -combat spell): 1d20 + 4 + 20 + 2 + 1 - 4 - 2 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 20 + 2 + 1 - 4 - 2 = 24 DMG: 1d4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 1 = 5 cold-iron, slashing
His main target was to get for a keleshite and pull him out of danger, while others distract a beast.
Effective AC:20
DM Kludde |
Yes, the creature should've moved one square to the east, it's done that now.
Svetlana show her anger at the defeat of Jhalan by focussing her strength on the outer planar monstrosity. With a growl, she brings down the bad onto the neck of the unhampered of the two heads, and cleaves it straight through. The demented side looks surprised, but the massive blood loss from the wound quickly causes the creature to faint and start bleeding out.
Combat over!
The monster defeated, there is now more time for the adventurers to search the shrine in the temple. They find a small cabinet in the pedestal below the monkey statue, which holds a richly illuminated copy of the Vigrahin Patitraka (a Vudran holy text) worth 50 gp and a handwritten journal belonging to a priest who accompanied Khiben- Sald on his travels around the Inner Sea.
After exploring the temple at their leisure, the adventurers make their way back to the camp of the expedition, where Baron Rudyahm and Count Falroun await to guide the expedition back to shore.
The rest of the hunting expedition passes without incident, and the adventurers make their way back to Absalom without any difficulty. Though Ambrus Valsin is excited by the items recovered from the the lost temple, he is especially thrilled by the recovery of the journal of Khiben-Sald’s travels. He immediately refers the log to the Society’s Vudran historians for analysis, hoping to glean information about other lost sites the Maharaja may have built or visited during his travels.
That is the end of this scenario! I'll create chronicles and report the game, so we can start 6-11 as quickly as possible!
Jhalan |
Jhalan drops unconscious, almost eviscerated by the asura's deadly blades.
Stabilization check: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (8) + 2 - 4 = 6
Before his companions can react and use the wand he's got tugged in his cloth belt, the Keleshite bleeds on the ground, his state getting worse by the minute.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8 Back to 6/36

'Hellion' Svetlana Irriseni |
Roaring with triumph, Svetlana puts one more blow into the downed creature.
She then looks around, smiling in admiration at the steely resolve of her companions "We fought well, we triumphed", she gets to tending Jhalans wounds.
***
Once home, she thanks Valsin for the opportunity to serve the Society, but stresses her need to return to the Paracountess and attend further training.
Rasamoro Kensori |
Rasamoro spends the last part of the way together with Castien, learning new things about magic and Jhalan, learning how to wield weapon correctly. Both directions seams to interest him.
Thanks for game, that was close. Rasamoro will take time to level up
DM Kludde |
Thanks for the great game! We should do out-of-tier more often :)
