DM Brainiac |

The battle rages on between you and the remaining Lightkeepers. Storm Adder's magic gets Khorash back on his bony feet. Spells and fists fly, and the outcome is uncertain for several long, grueling moments, but in the end, you manage to eke out a victory! Ran-to and Shino join their defeated teammates on the ground.
With the Lightkeepers' defeat, the impossible vistas of the dojo fade away. You find yourselves in a room that contains sixteen one-foot-diameter spheres along the perimeter of a stone disc in the center of the room. Eight of the spheres are shattered, while eight are whole and open, shining with a faint light. A lone door exits the room to the south.
Altogether, the Lightkeepers have: +3 major striking greater shock handwraps of mighty blows, +3 major striking gauntlet, +3 major striking halfling sling staff (20 bullets and 5 greater explosive bullets), +3 greater resilient studded leather, +3 major striking shortsword.
The spheres appear to be containment devices, keeping any creatures within in stasis. A few bits of fur, feathers, and scales remain in the broken spheres, indicating that this where Syndara likely held Tino's Toughest and the Lightkeepers while doing whatever he did to infuse them with monstrous abilities.
The door leads into a series of linked rooms. The first contains a forge, several workbenches, and other crafting accoutrements, each tool and instrument precisely labeled and in its proper place. The next is a makeshift bedchamber with just a few bedrolls.
The next room is small, featuring a luxurious sitting cushion laid out in the exact center of the room. The walls ripple with scenes from around the multiverse, each scene either slowed to a crawl or unfurling in an instant. It appears this chamber is used for meditations.
There is powerful magic here. Anyone sitting on the cushion in the perfect center of this room experiences an entire month of time mentally while just 1 minute passes for anyone not on the cushion. Anyone who meditates like this can use the time to retrain or follow other mental pursuits. It also counts as a full rest for replenishing your HP and abilties. Once a character who has used the cushion leaves the chamber, they can’t use the magic of the room again for 1 month.

Chkirri |

I assume we have time to upgrade my bow with the +3 major striking runes. If no one else wants one, I'll upgrade both bows.
"I never liked them anyway!" Chkirri says as he quickly strips the traitorous combatants of their weapons.
Realizing the pillow's power, his eyes widen. "Excuse me while I meditate for a minute!" he says, doing just that. Oooh, refreshing my spells is sweet!

Lazarus bows to his victorious Team...again. The Fighter also seems to be interested in the +3 major striking greater shock handwraps of mighty blows....
At the meditation center, the Martial Artist takes a ticket and waits in line...

Storm Adder |

I'll take one of the major striking runes.
"I bet they were bespelled. They weren't acting normal," observes Storm Adder. "Or at least, what passes for normal."

DM Brainiac |

Once you have meditated, you move on to the last chamber of the Glass Lighthouse. This final room features a circular opening that punctures the ceiling of the ten-foot-tall rectangular chamber. A single silver thread, as thin as a beam of light, hangs ominously and impossibly from the opening’s center directly above a silver mandala painted on the floor. Beyond, high overhead and far away, a starry sky looms. The whole room is oddly still and silent, and the air is bitingly cold.
You get a feeling of dread looking up to the top of the thread, an inkling that Syndara himself awaits at the other end. You should be sure you are absolutely ready before confronting this final foe...

![]() |

Resisting the urge to throw stones, the Martial Artist walks the corridor of the Glass Light House with an eagerness.
This has been my honor to have fought beside you all. And should one of you fall I will Resuscitate you, so go wild!

Chkirri |

Chkirri whispers to his companions: "This is it! For all the marbles!"
Before going up, he casts heroism on his companions 9th level on Lazarus, 6th on Storm Adder and Khorash, and then casts disappearance on Khorash if he wants; it will let him always get sneak attack -- but I'm not sure from the spell description if we'd be able to see him to heal him if necessary and foresight on Storm Adder.

DM Brainiac |

When you are ready, you begin to climb the silver thread. You experience the strange sensation of standing still, the rest of the plane moving around you with every pull.
The end of the silver thread opens into a series of semitransparent platforms high above Syndara’s Island. The structure forms a jagged spiral pattern, its platforms ragged and torn, with no sign of the meticulous detail or pristine precision of the lower level. Around the floating platforms yawns an endless starry expanse, each point of light a unique color, many utterly impossible to describe.
At the far end of the platform stands a throne of sandstone, on which Syndara sits, perfectly poised, waiting to engage you. On a pedestal to his right rests an hourglass containing a fine ash—all that currently remains of Hao Jin, the Ruby Phoenix.
"So, we come to it at last," Syndara says. "You may have defeated my champions, but now you will suffer the same fate as your precious Hao Jin. I will show you no mercy." He stands up, and his image seems to flicker for a moment before splitting in two, the axiomite conjuring a reflection of himself to fight alongside him.
"Let the final battle BEGIN!"

Lazarus takes the strikes like Mike Tyson did against George Foreman. He grins a mostly toothless grin at
Fort(M) DC 46, Heroism: 1d20 + 32 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 32 + 3 = 48 or become enfeebled 1 for 1 minute.
Lazarus starts breathing again.
Here we go!
The Fighter Strides right up to the actual Syndara.
Melee Stance gorilla slam unarmed attack (L), Heroism: 1d20 + 37 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 37 + 2 = 484d8 + 14 + 1d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 5, 6) + 14 + (6) + (3) = 39
(Traits: backswing, forceful, grapple, nonlethal, and unarmed) Damage 4d8+14/17/20 +1d6+1d6 Traits Greater Shock, Force (Brawling crit spec: The target must succeed at a Fortitude save against your class DC 42 or be slowed 1 until the end of your next turn.)

Lazarus Strikes again!
Melee Stance gorilla slam unarmed attack (L), Heroism, map: 1d20 + 37 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 37 + 2 - 4 = 524d8 + 17 + 1d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 5, 4) + 17 + (6) + (6) = 42
The Medic then Revisits his patient by another Doctors Visitation.
Doctor Visitation Battle Medicine(L) DC 30, Heroism: 1d20 + 33 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 33 + 3 = 404d8 + 40 ⇒ (2, 2, 6, 2) + 40 = 52
We really must stop meeting like this, Stormy. Folks will begin to talk.

Storm Adder |

Storm Adder's magic, and Laz's ministrations, get the gnoll back to consciousness.
He jumps to his feet, quickly heals himself, and smacks the reflection with the power of the tempest that is currently leaking out of him with his blood.
Stand, Quicken Heal IX, Tempest Touch
heal IX: 9d8 + 72 ⇒ (2, 1, 6, 7, 2, 2, 1, 1, 7) + 72 = 101
cold: 10d4 ⇒ (1, 4, 1, 3, 4, 2, 4, 4, 2, 1) = 26 and bludgeoning: 10d4 ⇒ (2, 1, 4, 2, 4, 1, 1, 4, 4, 2) = 25
DC 45 basic Fortitude

Khorash Kassim |

Attack, Pin to the Spot: 1d20 + 34 ⇒ (14) + 34 = 48
Damage, Sneak Attack: 3d6 + 9 + 1d6 + 4d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 3) + 9 + (5) + (2, 4, 2, 4) = 33
Attack 2: 1d20 + 34 - 4 ⇒ (5) + 34 - 4 = 35
The chips were down, and this bastard was putting the whole team on the ropes. Khorash tries to keep Syndara still for a bit so he and Lazarus can really whale on him.
Using Pin to the Spot on Syndara as well as attacking another time. Second probably won't work though.

DM Brainiac |

Uncontrollable dance is a touch spell, so I'll have Chkirri move up to Syndara instead of attack with his bow.
Will vs Uncontrollable Dance: 1d20 + 34 ⇒ (8) + 34 = 42
Fortitude vs Tempest Touch: 1d20 + 37 ⇒ (2) + 37 = 39
Chkirri afflicts Syndara with an uncontrollable urge to dance! "No! Argh, what sort of ridiculous spell is that?" the axiomite complains as he is forced to shake his groove thing, yeah yeah.
Lazarus capitalizes on the distraction, punching Syndara twice before moving back to heal Storm Adder. Khorash attacks as well, pinning Syndara to the spot and preventing him from moving!
Storm Adder heals himself and batters Syndara's reflection with a tempest touch.
Syndara and his reflection are two linked existences. Thus, he shifts the compulsion to dance and his restrained condition to the reflection with a thought, freeing himself! He glowers at Khorash as he attacks the skeleton again.
Palm vs Khorash: 1d20 + 41 ⇒ (14) + 41 = 551d20 + 37 ⇒ (6) + 37 = 431d20 + 33 ⇒ (2) + 33 = 351d20 + 33 ⇒ (14) + 33 = 47
Damage: 6d6 + 18 ⇒ (2, 5, 6, 4, 6, 5) + 18 = 466d6 + 18 ⇒ (4, 3, 4, 2, 2, 3) + 18 = 36
The reflection easily escapes from being pinned. He takes a moment to bust a dance move, then lashes out at Storm Adder to try to bust the gnoll's skull!
Escape: 1d20 + 41 ⇒ (17) + 41 = 58
Palm vs Storm Adder: 1d20 + 37 ⇒ (5) + 37 = 421d20 + 33 ⇒ (14) + 33 = 47
Damage: 6d6 + 18 ⇒ (5, 4, 6, 6, 5, 3) + 18 = 476d6 + 18 ⇒ (3, 5, 3, 4, 2, 4) + 18 = 39
118 bludgeoning damage to Khorash and 76 bludgeoning damage to Storm Adder after resistances.

Storm Adder |

Storm Adder recovers some health and quickly patches himself up. He uses the brief respite to cast a more powerful offensive spell and attack once more.
