Daenerija is up!

Daenerija reaches her pocket and finds a scroll which she reads immediately. Using the power of scroll she targets the yellow with magical ray. Ray of sickening: Yellow must make Fortitude save DC 11 or be sickened. If she can't see the yellow then she stands up instead.

Daenerija steps behind Plague Hunter hoping the beast will intervene should enemies approach her and uses the scroll she planned using.

The lead assassin snatches a vial from her belt and casts it directly into the hunters face, another noxious cloud exploding from the burst of fire, covering them both, as well as nearly everyone else in the room! Beryx strikes as she throws, and the explosion burns her as much as it does him.

Hskomoro does his best to ignore the stench, and starts holding his breath in case what's-her-face had more of those.

Holding his position, he transfers his full attention to the stabby one in front of him. He goes for a feint, followed by a strong cut. Sadly the cloud hides the feint enough to make it completely useless, and the cut isn't much better.

As the smoke clears, the sniper can be seen heavily burned, clearly not expecting a burst of fire! The red assassin steps to set up a flank, but Cladara ignores his movements, leaping over the table to the door before downing a vial, healing her wounds. Cursing, the assassin takes a stab at Hskomoro, somehow managing to strike true again! "Damn it Cladara, I could have had him!"

Berix spits, exposing a terrible mouth. Then he walks around the table and approaches Cladara, raising his sword to strike when the cat walks around her from behind and distracts her attention.

Still holding his breath, Hskomoro backs up a step. You know, it would be really helpful if his protections actually worked. Or if he hadn't used that borrowed potion on Daenerija.

Trusting to fate, he fills Red's mind with rage as his boss for moving away. And draws a minor potion, just in case.

Hskomoro steps around the table and shuffles a little closer to Yellow. His weapon is obviously ready for use, but not immediately threatening.

"Good choicce" he says, since the boss didn't seem to be throwing any more smoke bombs. He carefully kicks the dropped bow away and keeps an eye on the new captive.

Stare Yellow. Kick the dropped bow out of his immediate reach.

Just when Cladara looked to be clear, Plague Hunter manages to snag her with a claw! But still she does not die!

AC23, so one hit with the prone penalty.

Lets see if Khāṇa can finish this with the rest of her inspiration.

"They're all dead now? Have we searched every corner where an assasin could hide? One could pop up any moment. With this in mind we should heal ourselves now so we're prepared." Daenerija says and drinks a healing potion

"There are sstill thosse doorss" offers Hskomoro, gesturing behind him.

"Sshould we bring thiss one back up? I think we sstill have one of the potionss we found. He did try to sssurender," (staring at Akkina) "and leaving one to sspread the warning could help the Ssocciety."

Hskomoro will happily accept Akkina's healing

"He surrendered? hmm... I must have missed that in the heat of battle. Unfortunate. Perhaps one is still on the brink of death and can be revived, hmm?"

Heal to check for a pulse on one of the fallen foes: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Akkina does not find any of the fallen foes with a pulse remaining. The barracks spaces contain personal effects but nothing non-mundane. One of the cots bears a journal with entries signed by Cladara, outlining plans to replace military officers with Ghostknive conspirators in preparation for overthrowing the established guilds with military force.

Goodness, missed out on my own moment of glory! Let's see if I can make up for it....

"I've seen Chattel-zombies with better bedside-manner!" Khāṇa scoffs at Akkina's amateurish efforts before checking the bodies for herself (while a strange look in her eyes suggests she's reminded herself of some fond memory...).

"Mind your tongue, dear investigator. Especially when you use it to glorify the undead. They are a scourge that should be eradicated anywhere it can be found..." replies Akkina matter-of-factly. She then turns to Cladara's journal to uncover her plans.

Khāṇa finds little else of interest among the bodies, save for a tome in Cladara's pack that proves of interest to the alchemically inclined.

I would use my infernal healing wand, spending three charges with it, but someone else has to use it on me - for example, Akkina.

I was focused on the snake's head. If one of them surrendered but died, that's his problem. Let's take a look at this place to the end and get out of here.

To the stairs?

Hskomoro just shrugs. Doesn't matter to him, and the others didn't seem to think a living warning would help.

"We might be able to get preferential treatment from the ccity if we sshow them thesse planss" he points out. "If they already replacced ssome of the officccerss, that iss."

Reading further in the journal, Cladara writes of Venture Captain Bosk witnessing one of the illegal assassinations, invoking one of the River Freedoms in exchange for his life. Cladara accepted his oath of secrecy, until Bosk broke with the vow to save Timinic from assassination after the Ghostknives determined he was too close to discovering their operation.

What do you do now?

"Perhaps we should save the content of this journal for the Grand Lodge's leadership, and not further involve anyone here in Daggermark. This is above my pay grade I think..." offers Akkina.

Is there anyone else in Daggermark in need of our immediate rescuing or assistance?

Then:

"Mind your tongue, dear investigator. Especially when you use it to glorify the undead. They are a scourge that should be eradicated anywhere it can be found..." replies Akkina matter-of-factly. She then turns to Cladara's journal to uncover her plans.

"You're welcome to visit Geb sometime and say that. None there shall deny your freedom to speak as you will; after you speak, on the other hand...."

Now:

"Why don't we take it to Pemak? I've got a good feeling about her, she'll know what to do."

"We can trust Pemak. If we have finished our job in this den, let's stop by her place."

Without saying a word, Hskomoro crosses the room and gestures to the still-unexplored stairs directly behind Daenerija.

Walking up the stairs, the party finds a part of basement doors that open into an alleyway of the city above.

"Convenient!" Khāṇa remarks as she tries to orient herself.

The stairs aren't actually mentioned in the scenario. There's just nothing else in the hideout.
