This simple room of unadorned stone is piled from floor to ceiling with boxes and crates, with barely enough room left to allow the staff to squeeze between the towers of dusty, mothballed exhibits.
As soon as the adventurers step in, an icy howl is heard. An otherworldly shadow hound is chained to a side wall, baying loudly with a sound that chills the blood.

Kelsier follows Kraang as well, but then turns and and runs away, dropping his glaive in the doorway.
Will: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3
DM's discretion how far Kelsier runs. I assume not far since he won't have to move far to be safe from a chained beast.

does the panicked condition occur upon entering the room or as soon as the 1st person entered?
trying to figure out if I move once into the room then drop everything and flee? or before I take any actions, drop everything and full run from current location?

Ajah moves into the room and begins singing again, the invigorating tune fortifying the hearts of her allies.
Use Rallying Cry. Allies can use my Intimidate check as their Will save against the fear effect, including those who already failed, who get a second save with this check. 3/8 Bardic Performance rounds used.

Wow. Well, then Husarq and Mareq make the check!

DM Kludde |

Kelsier and Fronar start to panic at the sound of the hound, but Ajah is quick of mind and manages to turn the tide by rallying her companions. (Since Kelsier and Fronar acted before Ajah, they did drop whatever they were holding, and did spend an action running. Husarq still has to make a first save. )
Olga, undaunted, grabs a hold of the hound, making it easy for Kraang to strike the creature.
Also, it looks like I never moved up Husarq properly - did that now

Will Save DC13: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
The terrible baying strikes some chord deep inside the efreeti. He drops his blade and turns to run!

![]() |

Mareq watches as his efreeti thrall flees like a coward.
After all his talk, all his bravado and immense hubris as the Lord of House Shamir, he cannot handle a simple hound's baying, he thinks to himself, remembering the innumerable times Husarq al-Shamir ridiculed him as a weakling and coward. Who is standing, now?
Mareq looks into the room, seeing Olga throttling the hound. He raises his hands and points at the hound.
"التزم الصمت" commands Mareq.

The Rallying Cry occurs after Husarq's turn. So... he stops being panicked after Ajah went.

A quick search of the room only reveals miscellaneous supplies, and little of value.

Kelsier retrieves his weapon. He keeps his eyes on the ground. His shoulders are slumped as he moves to follow Kraang through the door.

"No time wasted, eh Kraang? You are quite the dynamo."

The last rooms leads to the familiar Blakros pissoirs. Several stalls stand against the east wall of this dank, stone room. A large grate in the floor collects a steady stream of water coming from one of the stalls. The rattle of chains echoes through the chamber and the stench of frightened, unwashed bodies fills the air.
Spread between the four stalls on the eastern wall are five slaves. All are chained to the wall with manacles, and two of them display a rune similar to that of the vivisected man the party rescued.

Kelsier growls and walks up to the leftmost slave. He grabs the chains and tries to rip them from the wall.

Kelsier yanks at the chains, but it takes more strength than that to remove them The slaves do react to his gesture. Wha... what is this? one moans, Who are you?
A splash of water washes away some of the stench, but sends the slaves shivering and quivering.

![]() |

Kelsier looks the slave in the eye. "I'm a Pathfinder and I'm getting you out of here."
If anyone offers to help, Kelsier will take 20 with their aid to try to break the chains. Otherwise he'll pull out weaponry and start trying to break the chains apart that way.

DM Kludde |

Under the concerted efforts of the pathfinders, the chains eventually snap, freeing the slaves. After escorting them out of the museum, the only task remaining is saving the Blakros twins. Still entranced in the northern room, the Wightir device still holds sway over the two debutantes. The end of the nightmare is only a single gemstone away...

After freeing the slaves, Kelsier returns to the main room. "Come on Fronar, do your stuff."

Mareq beckons Husarq to follow as he returns to the main room where the Blakros twins are still entranced.
The ifrit looks over at Kelsier and turns to watch Fronar approach.
"Shall we free them now?"

Fronar struts up to the alter as the rest of the party look to him. Filling himself with confidence... and inflating his ego a bit.
"Watch the master at work here people!"
Fronar manipulated the stones.

Who? What? Are we...? Eleanir asks. Michellia is the quicker to catch on You are not of their kind. Has mother sent you to rescue us?
Congratulations, you have rescued the Blakros twins from a terrible fate, and - in the process - you have earned the gratitude of the most influential family in Absalom. Who knows what this will bring for the society?

DM Kludde |

Thanks for playing, everybody!
