I believe I only have two more sorcerer spells, and two more oracle spells for the day.

"It's always skeletons in the dungeons. Lets get out of here. "We'll cover the rears, lets move quickly."
Vardel and Furrious take up the rear as the party makes its way back to the entrance.
Hearing the commotion, Vardel withdraws his lance ready to engage the intruders. That fighter seems like a bit of an idiot but he can handle himself well atleast.
Vardel rides up to Prothero's prone form to check on him. His voice filled with concern he asks, "Elise, how is he. Does he live?"
Vardel takes no other actions this round.

Prothero moves toward the stairs, intent on doing as much damage to the ape-like invaders as he can. Since he cannot speak to his friends, he ignores them, hoping they can tell he means them no harm.
I'm not sure which statue I am, or where I can get to because of the other PCs in the way, since I can't end my move in an occupied square, and the stairway will count as difficult terrain. I'll move as far as my 20' move and those limitations will allow.

DM Kludde |

Okay, I've updated the combat map - for some reason the update got stuck in the dropbox blue circle.
Justin wrecks his brain trying to come up with some knowledge on the four-armed monster, but this creature is so much a wisp of legend that he knows nothing. Apes, monkey, gorillas, gorilla demons: he can tell you everything about these creatures, but he's never seen the like of this abonimation.
Elise looks for signs of life on Prothero, but finds him in a weird state: all vitals signs are absent, but he is hotter, rather than colder. If anything, it seems like some kind of extreme meditative trance he is in.
The ivory orb in the dig site starts to glow bright.
Delphinia, I've converted that into a move forward and a readied spell-casting action. I assume you wanted to cast burning hands (correct me if it was something else), which only has a 15ft radius)
I've not put up counters for the defenders of the camp. These are the monkey that are not engaged by any of the defenders: there's battle happening all around you.
The Anghazi champion moves from the opening in the palisade, mowing away at the Aspis defenders and tossing them out like rags dolls. In one fell swoop, the entire parade of Aspis fighters that bothered you so much is history.
Champion, Bite: 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (13) + 26 = 392d6 + 9 ⇒ (3, 1) + 9 = 13

Champion, Claw: 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (4) + 26 = 301d8 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
The enraged monkeys move up, one of them getting close to the defensive position of Justin, and smack hims with a piece of wood

In his new, seemingly indestructible form, Prothero charges forward at the great ape-beast. As he reaches the creature and begins to pummel it, a cloud of noxious gas spews forth

DM Kludde |

The lumbering metallic colossus that emerged from the Azlanti vault the previous round (And which I didn't describe, unfortunately) suddenly rushes forward and body slams the huge monkey demon, first delivering a massive punch, then engulfing in a cloud of noxious vapours. The few defender that were still foolish enough to stand in range leave the area coughing and vomiting
Justin, meanwhile, acts as a mini-golem, putting the blade down on a monkey his own size, leaving behind a bloody gash and trickles of blood.

Posting for Vardel, to keep things moving:
Seeing that they can do nothing for Prothero at the moment, Vardel takes action where he can. He rides forward and attacks the pack of apes near Justin.

Vardel's and Furrious' charge leads to very little.

All around the camp, the battle rages. Though the titanic fight between monkey demon and iron golem is paramount to the survival of the pathfinder archaeologists, most of them are too occupied fighting of monkeys to be of any support.
In other words, there's many more charau-ka in this battle - the icons here are just the ones that are attacking you. Luckily, there's only one champion.

DMK - I think you mean 3 damage on Vardel, not 33, right? Sure hope so.

![]() |

Woot, go Prothero!
The monkey next to me is dead, right? Then Justin will take a 5'step toward the one biting Vardel and attack with both weapons
Justin lets out a cry of glee and triumph as the monkey before him goes down... and then cringes inward as he feels the air around him concussing from the massive blows the demon and golem are exchanging. But when he hears Vardel cry out from the bite, he hesitates no longer, leaping to aid that most valiant knight. "GET OFF MY LITTLE BUDDY!"
Lucy: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 dmg: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Ethel: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17 dmg: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Unfortunately, he must have forgotten to pull Lucy free from her last victim because she sticks momentarily, costing Justin precious momentum and the blade swings wide.

DM Kludde |

The massive damage inflicted by the golem proves too much for the champion to handle. With a massive THUD it goes down, and a single kick by the golem yields enough proof that the creature is indeed very much dead. Delphinia's fiery missiles make short work of the final Charau-Ka.
A cheer goes up from the camp’s defenders as the last of the charau-ka are slain or forced back out of the palisade wall’s breach. Haggard yet determined, the defenders quickly begin piling wrecked logs in the breach to prevent the charau-ka from making another easy attack.
A horn sounds from the west side of the camp, and then the east, and then from the tower. The lookouts shout, “They’re coming over the walls!” and the camp’s defenders run to meet the charge.
You have one full round to heal, cast spells, adjust your armour, comb your hair, etc. After the round, two more Charau-Ka appear

The golem lumbers eastward, and with two brutally overpowered punches flattens one of the charau-ka. The remaining monkey steps up to Justin, and immediately gets mauled by both Lucy and Ethel, then a Furrious charge by Vardel.
A ragged, much more muted cheer goes up from the camp’s exhausted defenders. The cheer is short-lived, however; almost immediately the guards in the tower sound their horns, and pointing at the cliff that looms over the south end of the dig.

With the charau-ka and their champion defeated, the remnants of the ape-men flee back into the jungle, giving the excavation site its first relative peace in 10 months. With most of the camp either wounded or sick, Dias fears she may have to bury the site and take the key with her back to Absalom. Regardless, she thanks the PCs profusely for their timely help, promised to report to her venture- captain in Absalom that the success at Azlant Ridge was due in no small part to the efforts of the PCs.
Over the next several days, Dias guides the camp through packing and loading the caravan wagons to head for the coast and catch a vessel bound for Absalom. She packs away the key and the monolith control device and has the camp workers bury all signs of their dig, including triggering a rock fall to rebury the door to the Azlanti complex.
Congratulation to making to the end of the scenarios. I have the chronicles almost ready, so they should be out soon. Thanks for playing all!

With the battle over, Prothero marches his giant form back through the door, though he can't resist raising his mighty arms in the sky, partially to celebrate their victory and partially because he's never before felt like a giant, magical creature made of iron. He returns the statue to its previous location and, just as he does so, he regains consciousness, raising his head off the ground and getting his bearings again.
"That was an incredible experience! I was so strong, so invulnerable! That control box and construct make a powerful addition to the Society's armory - and I would dearly love to fight that way again," says Prothero, his tone both excited and a bit wistful, at the power he's left behind.
Thanks for running, DMK! Nice playing with everyone.
