Grand Lodge

Male Human Empyreal Sorcerer 2 (HP 12/12) (AC 10/10/10) (CMD 11) (Fort +1, Ref +0, Will +9) (Init +0) (Perception +8)

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26.

"Curiouser and curiouser... look - both Kassen and the mercenary leader have similar medallions; perhaps they were siblings, or grew up as part of the same organisation?"

After thoroughly searching the room, Amenhotep continues on down the corridor.

Silver Crusade

Female Human Standard Bearer (Cavalier)2 | AC 18/11/17(+1 Dodge w/Challenge) | F+4, R+1, W+1 | Per +2, Init +1 | HP 22/22

Ellenar looks at the necklaces in the mural thinks. "Have I seen those designs before?"

Master of Gaming and Grognardia Current map

At the end of this corridor you come to another door. This one appears to be designed in such a way you can only open it one way.

Grand Lodge

Male Human Empyreal Sorcerer 2 (HP 12/12) (AC 10/10/10) (CMD 11) (Fort +1, Ref +0, Will +9) (Init +0) (Perception +8)

Amenhotep searches the door for traps, and then gingerly opens it.

Silver Crusade

Halfling Paladin (Oath of Vengeance) 1 | AC: 18 (t 15, ff 14) | HP: 12/12 | Fort +4, Ref +4, Will +0 | CMB +0, CMD 14 | Init +4 | Perc +0

Belina sees if the flame helps open the lock with magic, then moves on with the others.

Master of Gaming and Grognardia Current map

Flame doesn't seem to do anything with the other locked door, but the voice once again says
"Magic is the key" and you notice the pool of water in that room is quite deep and dark so you can't see what's at the bottom

Unless you had a light source that lights up underwater like a sunrod or something.

Grand Lodge

Male Human Empyreal Sorcerer 2 (HP 12/12) (AC 10/10/10) (CMD 11) (Fort +1, Ref +0, Will +9) (Init +0) (Perception +8)

Well, I have darkvision - is the pool 60' or less deep?

Silver Crusade

Halfling Paladin (Oath of Vengeance) 1 | AC: 18 (t 15, ff 14) | HP: 12/12 | Fort +4, Ref +4, Will +0 | CMB +0, CMD 14 | Init +4 | Perc +0

Belina holds out the bright light they were entrusted with.

She shines it into the pool.

Didn't relaise that, lol.

You see about 40ft down at the bottom there appears to be a large pile of identicle, iron keys.

Grand Lodge

Male Human Empyreal Sorcerer 2 (HP 12/12) (AC 10/10/10) (CMD 11) (Fort +1, Ref +0, Will +9) (Init +0) (Perception +8)

Ah-hah!

Amenhotep takes off his armor, and then goes diving, hoping to retrieve the keys, and use them on the door.

Master of Gaming and Grognardia Current map

ALL the keys? There are a LOT of them made from iron...

Grand Lodge

Male Human Empyreal Sorcerer 2 (HP 12/12) (AC 10/10/10) (CMD 11) (Fort +1, Ref +0, Will +9) (Init +0) (Perception +8)

Well, Traflet is the only one with Detect Magic, and as he has a Strength of 8, he isn't exactly good at swimming. I think the long, laborious task of recovering all of the keys is what we need to do, unfortunately - either that, or rope him to Amenhotep's chest, then dive down so he can identify the 'correct' key...

Silver Crusade

Halfling Paladin (Oath of Vengeance) 1 | AC: 18 (t 15, ff 14) | HP: 12/12 | Fort +4, Ref +4, Will +0 | CMB +0, CMD 14 | Init +4 | Perc +0

"Can we keep pulling you up with a rope?"

Master of Gaming and Grognardia Current map

Thought Clerics had it on their list too? Unless you didn't prepare it. Plus it is a 60 cone.

Grand Lodge

Male Human Empyreal Sorcerer 2 (HP 12/12) (AC 10/10/10) (CMD 11) (Fort +1, Ref +0, Will +9) (Init +0) (Perception +8)

It is on the cleric list, but I prepped Create Water, Guidance, and Stabilize.

Master of Gaming and Grognardia Current map

Ok, for clarity we'll say you manage to spend sometime bringing up ALL the keys.

With a pile of identicle iron keys sat there, detect magic is cast and only one of the keys glows brightly. This key fits the lock to the locked door.

Sorry for the late response. Just been doing two 9 hour shifts back-to-back and I've only ever been used to 5 hours in the past :p

Grand Lodge

Male Human Empyreal Sorcerer 2 (HP 12/12) (AC 10/10/10) (CMD 11) (Fort +1, Ref +0, Will +9) (Init +0) (Perception +8)

Amenhotep breathes a sigh of relief when the correct key is finally found.

"Right then. Let's see what is on the other side of that door..."

He then moves to unlock/open the door.

Master of Gaming and Grognardia Current map

As you open the door you peer down a long corridor that is flanked by a row of human statues, set into alcoves on each side. The statues look like Kassen and each one holds a longsword out in front of it. The blades of roughly half the statues are wrapped in leather padding.

Grand Lodge

Male Human Empyreal Sorcerer 2 (HP 12/12) (AC 10/10/10) (CMD 11) (Fort +1, Ref +0, Will +9) (Init +0) (Perception +8)

"Yeah, that doesn't look suspicious, at all..."

Amenhotep carefully moves forward, taking his time to search for the trigger mechanism for the obvious statue-based trap...

Perception 'Take 20' = 28.

Master of Gaming and Grognardia Current map

You come across a single pressure plate near the end of the hallway.

Grand Lodge

Male Human Empyreal Sorcerer 2 (HP 12/12) (AC 10/10/10) (CMD 11) (Fort +1, Ref +0, Will +9) (Init +0) (Perception +8)

Amenhotep carefully points out the location of the pressure plate, then stows his shield, limbers up, and takes a running jump over it.

'Take 10' = 5, which is exactly what I need, as far as I can tell.

He then carefully moves to the end, and whilst waiting for the others to join him, checks the door at the end of the corridor for traps, and then opens it.

Traflet easily hops the pressure plate, following Amenhotep and looking through the now-open door
Take ten on acrobatics gives me 12
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

Silver Crusade

Belina is quite agile, and with no danger pressing, can take a running leap to clear the pressure plate.

Master of Gaming and Grognardia Current map

The door at the end was unlocked as with most in this area and inside you see a massive room. One half of this holy chamber has a lowered floor, with stairs on either side to reach the bottom. Standing opposite the door is a tall wooden statue of Kassen grasping a gigantic wooden shield in each hand. One of the shields is inscribed with the word "home" whilst the other reads "family".

Knowledge Arcana DC 15:
This appears to be a Wood Golem and at the moment is inactivate.

Knowledge Arcana DC 20:
This wooden Golem is weak against fire and will most likely burn very quickly if exposed to flames.

Knowledge Arcana DC 25:
The wooden structure is strong against any attack besides those that slash. Like all constructs it is immune to magic.

Grand Lodge

Male Human Empyreal Sorcerer 2 (HP 12/12) (AC 10/10/10) (CMD 11) (Fort +1, Ref +0, Will +9) (Init +0) (Perception +8)

"Right then. Let's see what horrors this chamber holds for us!"

Amenhotep then cautiously enters the room.

Silver Crusade

Female Human Standard Bearer (Cavalier)2 | AC 18/11/17(+1 Dodge w/Challenge) | F+4, R+1, W+1 | Per +2, Init +1 | HP 22/22

Ellenar follows behind Amen, weapon still ready.

"Does that statue unnerve anyone else? And if this room has been sealed by magic all this time, wouldn't the wood by rotted by now?" No Know: Arana, but common sense does help.

Liberty's Edge

M Gnome Sorcerer(Mongrel Mage)/1 (HP 8/8 | AC:12 | T:12 | FF:10 | CMB:-2 | CMD:10 | Fort:+2 | Ref:+2 | Will:+2/4 vs. fear/despair | Init:+6 | Perc:+7 | Speed 20) Current Bloodline-Elemental(Air)-6/7 Rays Left

Arcana: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Traflet looks at the statue, his eyes narrowing, Careful, that's a golem. It's not activated right now, but those things are scary once they're awake. Stay away from it.

Master of Gaming and Grognardia Current map

The Golem just remains inactive. The door is still opened and nothing appears to have happened.

Grand Lodge

Male Human Empyreal Sorcerer 2 (HP 12/12) (AC 10/10/10) (CMD 11) (Fort +1, Ref +0, Will +9) (Init +0) (Perception +8)

"Well, we need to go into the room to continue on, so chances are, it is going to activate..."

Amenhotep enters the room.

Belina concentrates thoroughly for any evil auras.

Detect evil thoroughly

Master of Gaming and Grognardia Current map

nothing detects evil and the golem doesn't react whilst you're in the room. Do you want to go down the stairs to get the shields?

Grand Lodge

Male Human Empyreal Sorcerer 2 (HP 12/12) (AC 10/10/10) (CMD 11) (Fort +1, Ref +0, Will +9) (Init +0) (Perception +8)

Sure.

Amenhotep cautiously moves forward...

Belina covers him with her bow.

Master of Gaming and Grognardia Current map

anyone else going towards the creature for the shields?

Master of Gaming and Grognardia Current map

Going to say that the others stay away from the thing and stay on the upper area.

Once Amenhotep reaches the bottom steps the creature comes to life and the stairs flatten, turning into slides.

Amenhotep: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Adeah: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

Assuming Ellenar stays at the top of the stairs, Ellenar looks down at the moving statue. "Aw cripes! This is a right mess!" She gives her banner a swish, making sure the colors of Shelyn shine brighter in the dimly lit cave. "All together! Our might is greater than this thing that bars our path!" Lion's Call: +1 to attack and +2 to saves vs Fear for 2 rounds.

As long as you can see my banner, you gain a +2 moral bonus vs fear and +1 to attack as part of a charge.

Ellenar jumps down the slide, trying to stay upright and landing at the bottom on her feet. Acrobatics: 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (6) - 4 = 2 Her footing is not solid, resulting in the cavalier landing on her back at the foot of the stairs with a loud CLANG!!
