Lol, thanks GM. :P
Thessaly gives Maulaxe a weirded-out blink when he wraps his dwarven arms around her but hesitantly pats his shoulder, while looking around as if to say, A dwarf is hugging me, what do I do?

![]() |

Kayde, who'd taken on the duty of keeping Thess alive while she shocks her way through the traps, alternates using her wand and his own. Pocketing his and giving here back, he, too, can't help but be baffles my the dwarf's warm show of support.
"Well, that's new," he mutters as he gives his own clueless shrug in response to Thess's.
Lets split those wand charges for the healing, Thess. You're enduring that on our behalf. I'll take 5; you take 4. :)
Shaking his head, he looks into the room. "So, I guess there's nothing but to take a look inside, huh?"

GM Andrew |

And, just seemingly to spite Thessaly's long hardship with the electric statues, it appears that there is yet another trap to contend with, and Kayde just triggered it. Fortunately, it's not electricity...
Trap Attack (On Kayde): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
Trap Damage (On Kayde): 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
A glaive swings out of the wall and slams into Kayde. It immediately retracts back, as if resetting itself. You hear some clicks... it may only be a few moments before it is done resetting.
I'll call that "succeeding your Perception check" and now you know where the trap it. It's in the entryway. XD

![]() |

"MOTHER F——"
Kayde instinctively rolls away, dropping his weapon to whip out his wand as he steps past the trapped area.
If nothing else immediately attacks, he'll heal up.
Wand of CLW, x2 charges: 2d8 + 2 ⇒ (3, 3) + 2 = 8

GM Andrew |

As Kayde rolls away, it appears it is a pressure plate sort of trap. It may be possible to jump over.
Kayde looks around and detects magic in the room. No magic is found, but he does find a couple of necklaces among the rubble. They probably have some value but aren't exorbitant by any means.
Yup, that's all the treasure in the room lol.

![]() |

Amelie does a little jump and puts a big smile on her face "I'm so happy everyone is getting along. Who would have thought it would just take us getting hurt to do it!"

![]() |

I'll accept that offer, Kayde. ;)
"SEE?!?! Thessaly shouts with an emphatic gesture of both hands when Kayde gets hit. "G#*$#$n! Alright there, buddy?"
She digs out her tools yet again...
Disable Device: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Thessaly makes a show of blowing on her hands cuz she's just that badass. "There, sorted that. Now you know how I felt though. F$~~ing traps."
It's not a matter of them needing to go back into that room.... it's a matter of PRINCIPLE. She's gonna wreck every trap she finds.
"Okay, so. Where next?"

![]() |

"Whats behind this statue?" next one round on our tour of the "And let Thess at least try find the trap before we enter ? They seem to like traps as much as Thess hates them round here" She offers her wineskin to Kayde and Thess

GM Andrew |

Onto the next crypt. This one was guarded a statue of Sorshen, Runelord of Lust.
While this crypt has the dusty, disused air of the ossuary’s other catacombs, the bodies interred within it are remarkably free from the ravages of age and decay. Their burial garments have long since rotted away, but the cadavers look as if they could have been placed in their niches only yesterday. Unfortunately, this amazing effect is somewhat overshadowed by the lewd and graphic positions the bodies have been placed in.
Magic is detected in the entire room...

![]() |

Thessaly scrunches up her nose at the rather pornographic arrangement in this room.
"Right, I like a bit of bawd as much as the next girl, but this takes it to a new level, what with everyone all dead and all... reminds me of this story I heard in a pub once..."
(Link is to Oglaf, which if you don't know Oglaf, is ~NSFW~ as a rule.)
Thessaly looks around for anything worth taking, but likely doesn't find much as she's not a necrophile.

![]() |

Amelie's mouth drops wide open at the site of the vault and she starts to blush. "Ummmm uhhhh, I'll uhhhh start checking the next room" and she quickly turns and walks away, trying to shake the images out of her mind.

GM Andrew |

Thessaly finds some nice looking jewelry* on the bodies.
* Most of it is actual jewelry; necklaces, rings, and brooches. Some of it... we'll just call it jewelry to try to keep things PC there.
It looks like you could get a decent sum out of selling this jewelry.

![]() |

Well, this is being really fast...
Spellcraft DC 17: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
"Magic is working here. A spell has been cast to preserve all over here." Gentle Repose spell.
Appraise: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
"Maybe we can get some gold for these jewelry. No magical items here. We can proceed", Malakiah suggests.

![]() |

Thessaly sniggers at poor Amelie's reaction, and carefully pries valuables off the dead. "Someone remind me to wash my hands real good after alla this, okay?"
With the shinies harvested, Thess regrips her glaive and moves to the next section in their circuit.
A preemptive trap check: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17

GM Andrew |

The next crypt had the statue of Krune, Runelord of Sloth in front of it.
This crypt has a few carvings on the wall that show mages summoning devils and demons in summoning circles. However, it's only in the entryway and appears to be unfinished.
However, inside you see this fat, lard monster. A roiling wave of flesh gushes forward. Amid the fatty surge wriggle half-formed limbs and a dripping tumorous face. It attacks on sight!

Claw Attack (Charge): 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 + 2 = 22

"Ow," Thessaly says drily at the tiny slash. "Best you can do, Mr... demon, is it? I've had worse. Like from these damned statues. 's right, a bunch of carved rock hits harder than you do, ugly."
She moves back from the creature (provoking an AOO) to stand next to Kayde.
To the group at large, she says, "See the gold-and-silver colored bottle at my belt? Somebody grab it and pour some of that on your weapon. ...heh. I think you can also chuck holy water at these buggers. Cuz Malakiah said they're demons, right?"
(Thessaly has an oil of bless weapon, someone should feel free to make use of it on their wepaon as Thess doesn't want to spend the actions to apply it on hers right now)
Thessaly readies to stab at the thing when it emerges.
Readied glaive attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

![]() |

No flank applies; I wasn't threatening it while adjacent to it, because reach weapon, and I've drawn back from potential flanking now. Still, your eagle's first two attacks should hit anyway

GM Andrew |

Thessaly retreats, and the Lemure takes this opportunity to attack.
Claw Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Claw Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Malakiah summons an eagle. It hits 2 times, but doesn't deal any damage. Unfortunately, unlike Paladin smite, it doesn't bypass DR.
He then shoots a magic missile at it. A piece of lard goes clean off of it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
The Lemure charges at Thessaly (provoking from the eagle, although it won't matter...).
A myriad of attacks go off.
(Kayde) Longspear Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
(Kayde) Longspear damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Kayde hits the Lemure and Thessaly hits twice. Between all the hits, and the Magic Missile, it seems enough for the beast to pop out of existence. The party continues to be exceedingly efficient. :p

GM Andrew |

This crypt was guarded by the statue of Zutha, Runelord of Gluttony.
The crypt here looks like it has carvings that dedicate itself to the creation of undead. There are several bodies in alcove, but they have been picked clean by some beast.
Speaking of which, inside, there are two undead creatures! This humanoid creature has long, sharp teeth, and its pallid flesh is stretched tightly over its starved frame. They look hungry and attack!
