Botting Mylv and Gryne

Mylvwara was about to assist Shi in her bluff until Varian steps towards the goblin.

As soon as gets across from the table, the goblin screeches and yells at Shilyn. "Wait, you try to trick me! Graaaaa!"

Mylvwara approaches behind Shilyn and sees all of the alchemical items.

Mylvwara Int check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

Mylvwara notices a plethora of alchemical items on the tables. Seeing the jittery goblins, she vocalizes her worries about entering.

Orion moves up an holds an arrow at bay, reading it for something hinky.

A worry that is confirmed when the closest goblin moves under the table he's at and flips it over, shattering alchemical goods that turn into an elemental explosion!

Varian Reflex save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Explosion damage: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 3) = 11

Varian walks through the chilled, electrical explosion unscathed, however, his winged shadow almost etching itself into the wall behind him.

Orion fires his arrow at the goblin.

Gryne and Amnur move into the room, the former firing an arrow after his entry.

Not much of anything, goblins panic, people move in, goblin flips table. Shi did try to bluff her way though, which worked better than it should have.

I think that puts Varian at -2 (11 plus 5 is 16 damage and he was already down to 14 hp...Let me know if I'm wrong... otherwise, he falls to the ground...

@Varian: The 11 damage barely hurt you; the explosion is a mix of elemental damage (6 cold and 5 electric in this case) and you happen to have enough resistance to it. Actually, you only take 1 point of cold damage, so 6 damage total!

The remaining goblin, seeing Amnur and Varian surrounding him, tips over the table and lets the variety of alchemical goods shatter into a violent explosion!

This time, an explosion of acid and fire shoots out. Amnur's heavy armor takes the brunt of his, but the fire does wound Varian while the acid drops off of his skin light rain water.

Stepping closer so Amnur can flank, Varian moves up for the final blow.

You don't notice anything that strange in the room... however, you do note that in the door exiting south, there is just a hint of light coming from it (only your darkvision allows you to note the wispy streams of light coming from the other side).

No paperwork exists in the room, just a number of alchemical vials and bottles, a small sack, and a stick.

Amnur lets the other in on what he's sensed behind the portal, "There's some evil behind the door, just one." he lets them know as he stores the Tanglefoot bag away. "I could just open it and trust in my good old armor." Amnur suggests, clearly the option he'd prefer.

Since Mylvwara has been absent for a few days, I'll bot her as she investigates things in the room. Among usable goods, there are 5 potions of cure light wounds, a potion of bull's strength, a potion of invisibility, a jar of bottled lightning, and 5 jars of alchemist's fire. There are also 3 sets of Small masterwork studded leather armor and 3 Small masterwork short swords.

Turning to Gryne, Shilyn quietly lets the dwarf know that she's hearing a voice on the other side of the door. Slipping her bow back across her shoulders and putting her rapier away, she carfully opens the door and steps in.

As Shilyn opens the door, the room floods with light. The chamber she views appears to be equal parts study, laboratory, and personal quarters. A bed sits in one corner, and bookshelves line another. Before the recessed southern wall sits a table covered in a wide variety of alchemical devices. Thick green smoke pours from the devices, covering the chamber's floor in a foul-smelling vapor.

Across the way, you spot a man hunched over the table, muttering something about chemicals not working correctly. Over to the west, there is a wooden door with a snake made of metal curled up about 5' away from it. Neither of them seem to be aware of your presence!

If you guys wish, you get a SURPRISE round! If you wish not to take advantage of it, then each round I'll roll their Perception checks to notice you all.

Amnur resists his first impulse to charge immediately, instead readies a charge at the man if he acts hostile, and waits for the others to make their moves. Just don't get in my way! he wills the others to hear his thoughts as he tries to keep quiet.

If you do step in his way, fair move. He can't think to you! :)
