Poshment Galier |

"I see that smirk" Poshment says to Faria as they approach the prison. "Lady Faria is there possibly something in the water...the locals seem even more...challenged than I remember." While he's making small talk with Faria he will also be scanning the area. He is also curious to search the area where his father was found.
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18

Faria chuckles at the halfling's comment, then shakes her head. "Nothing in the water. Just ignorance. You and I have had the benefit of a wider viewpoint of the world, brother. These folk see just a tiny sliver. They have little need of education, or knowledge of outsiders, or anything else beyond the tools to eke out their living in this land."
After hearing the wolves howl, the priestess looks back at the deputy. "Perhaps you should roost in a tree while we are inside, good sir."
She turns back to the gate, waiting for Zorra and Sharien to pronounce them safe.

Though it is rather faded, Poshment can see the remnants of a bloody stain on the ground abut 40 feet to the right of the gate. On the wall above the stain, the stone face of a carved gargoyle is missing. The gargoyle carving is 20 feet up. The missing part is about the size of a basketball.
Riff looks around with worry, but remains resolute.

Poshment Galier |

Poshment looks at the blood stain and then back up at the statue and freezes in his tracks. "Sister...can you...I can't..." he stammers as he is over come with emotions.
Trying to ask if Faria and the rest wouldn't mind checking out the place where his father died and to see if the statue broke or was tampered with and so on.

Faria nods in understanding, patting the halfling's shoulder before proceeding over to the area with the gargoyle portion on the ground, looking around the scene. She eyes the wall above her warily as she moves closer.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

I don't know what that was, but it wasn't a trap.

![]() |

Surely it's GM Engleaktig's call, but how do you have a Wand of CLW, Grog? You don't have the Rich Parents trait, from what I saw.
Faria picks through the items, taking a few things before waiting for the others to get what they choose.
"I believe we should all carry a Haunt Syphon, just in case. Everyone get a potion of Cure Light, as well, and a holy water. And whoever is best with a bow should grab those arrows." Realizing she sounds a bit bossy, Faria quiets down, patiently waiting while the rest is distributed.
Sorry about the book-keeping call, friends. Just figured we'd need to know who was carrying what.

Mike was allowed to bring his existing PFS CORE character, Grog. I made a special exception for him because he's a former Venture Officer and has mostly run games rather than play them. Given his time constraints, and his desire to play an AP, it was easier to let him simply run with Grog. That character has only played one scenario, so he doesn't have a huge head start on anyone else. Mostly, it's just the Wand of CLW--which he intends to share with the party. :-)

![]() |

No worries...I was just mostly curious HOW he came to have it, as opposed to any issues about fairness or anything like that.
I played another mod with the GM. And after the mod I spent two prestige points to get the wand per the PFS Rules. Not trying to power game. I've just played one mod. Since we're getting chronicles. I just carried over the character. I also bought a masterwork weapon. If its and issue I'll start from scratch?

If we're inspection mode, I think our previous order of Zorra, Poshment, Grog, Sharien, Faria would be ok. If we're in 'fight' mode, keep it the same, just move Zorra back to third and move Poshment and Grog up. Unless someone else has a suggestion?

Riff is fine. Zorra leads the way. The very second she passes over the threshold marked by the gate, she halts suddenly! She has a sudden rush of claustrophobia and the split-second sensation that her skin is on fire.
Zorra Will Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6, Duration: 2d4 ⇒ (3, 1) = 4
The dwarf is shaken for the next 4 minutes.

Grog moves. The party closes ranks behind him.
I've updated the map. It's a very big map, and each square is 10 feet. So you have to zoom in a lot to see stuff. I've put a red square around the party to help you focus on the immediate area around you all. I recognize that it's difficult to see the grid when you zoom in that much. We'll all just to the best we can. :-)

Suddenly, a swarm of rats streams out of the tower!
The pink square is the rat swarm. Nobody is surprised; you all heard the squeaking. There's no surprise round; just normal initiative.

Sharien Oakfoot |

can't see the swarm on the map, but I'll assume I can hit them with this... Sharien, always the well prepared little wizardling, pulls out a scroll of burning hands and casts it at the swarm. fire: 1d4 ⇒ 2 x1.5 = 3 damage to the swarm.

Zorra takes 1 HP of splash damage for a total of 5 HP of damage thus far.
The swarm attempts a reflex save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8. The rats are on fire! They will take another 1d6 HP of damage (x1.5) on Grog's next turn.

Fortunately for Poshment, this particular swarm is made up of tiny creatures. They take half damage from his attack.
Sadly, the paladin's critical threat does not confirm.
