PFS 6-04: Beacon Below (7-11) (Inactive)

Game Master Sior

Thousands of years ago, a defeated order of Osirian sages sought refuge in the perilous Pillars of the Sun in central Osirian. Until recently they were presumed lost, but recent exploration has uncovered the fortress sanctum they left behind. When the PCs delve into one of its sealed halls, they find the sages’ millennia-old projects dormant but not dead.

We did not. Feel free to roll 'em now.

So what do ye do with the jewel and crystal? At this point you know someone's been taking stuff from the library and it seems the amethyst sage is up to no good. Then again, what about the sapphire sage, perhaps scorned from the diamond sage taking over? Or perhaps the diamond sage herself who left you all alone in this matter? The crystal offers a promise to locate any of them, though you doubt you'll be able to do it more than once.

Radiant is with the Exchange. Do any of these options promote trade or create more value for the group?

My gut tells me that helping to hunt down the amethyst sage is the right thing to do, but I have to remind myself that in truth I do not know the amethyst sage' motives. What are your thoughts? he asks the rest of his group.

The diamond sage is a valued friend of the Grand Lodge, I think we should what is her best interest, which I think is locating the Amethyst Sage.

Need PFS # for Grimnir

Deciding to search for the Amethyst Sage, the sands around the crystal start to shift and move while the ceiling above alters where light shines, almost as if projecting constellations.

Knowledge (geography or nature) DC 25[/spoiler:
The alignment of the stars suggests the amethyst sage jewel is somewhere in Katapesh or northern Nex.
The shifting sands form itself into an image; the sand shows the amethyst sage jewel set in a strange device next to a humanoid figure with no discernible facial features. The person startles and stares at the gem before the gritty tableau collapses.

At this point, with everything completed that ought to be, you return to the surface once again.

Tahonikepsu returns several hours after you emerge from the library, and reports that with time and care, she might be able to repair the beacon and use it to locate the other wayward sage jewels. She also compliments you on your resourcefulness, particularly with regards to the flawed sage jewel.

The actions of the Amethyst Sage trouble her greatly, and she muses aloud whether other sages might have also survived the Qadiran attacks and either passed their knowledge on to proteges or secured exceptional longevity. Either way, she notes your efforts may have
drawn the attention of the current bearer of the amethyst, and that sage might contact her and return to the order.
