Not a big deal. The hasted Radiant can spring attack 70 feat now and sneak attacks after moving 10'. So he would have attacked the remaining enemy. But I believe a 22 likely missed so it matters little.

![]() |

More asking for placement purposes, in the event that it mattered.
The construct lashes out again at the summoned creatures.
Archon: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (6) + 17 = 23

Damage: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (2, 1) + 7 = 10
Electricity: 1d6 ⇒ 3

We are down one eidelon!
My Friend falls to the floor (or given he's been tripped, lies still), unconscious, and Whitwood will spend a standard action to unsummon him.
The archon will continue swinging
Great Sword: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 212d6 + 12 ⇒ (2, 6) + 12 = 20
Great Sword: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 172d6 + 12 ⇒ (2, 1) + 12 = 15

The archon is unable to make any contact as Whitwood returns My Friend to its home plane.
Rest of the party is up.

Enjoying the range the Haste gives him Radiant moves up and attacks, the safely moves back to his starting position, all the while wondering about the sphere.
Dancing Spring Attack, Hasted and Banner but no flank: 1d20 + 14 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 14 + 1 + 1 = 245d6 + 9 ⇒ (6, 6, 1, 2, 6) + 9 = 30

![]() |

The zelekhut is almost able to move out of the way of Radiant's strike, but at least it manages to cover the sensitive spot that Radiant made the mad dash for. In short: Attack hits, no sneak attack damage.

![]() |

Grumble, grumble. At least the first d6 was a 6. So that tis still a total of 15 points. I am betting 5 get though dr. No argument, but I am unaware of a way to avoid sneak attack short of concealment or being a high level rogue. Can Radiant think of an way?

![]() |

Being seen. Even while being invisible. No other conditions would grant the sneaky-sneak. The only reason it counted before was because you called the attack from flank.

![]() |

Rats. You are right that he does not get the sneak attack but not right that no other conditions can grant it. Let me explain why I though I was right, and why I am not. Radiant has the Scout archetype. With that If he moves 10' he gets sneak attack. That is why he is spring attacking instead of getting 3 attacks a round. And that is his entire build in a nutshell. He gets this ability at 8th level. And he is 8th level. BUT he gets it at 8th level Ninja and he has a level of bard. So he is one level away from that ability because he mult-classed.
If someone can move to the south side of the creature I can do more damage Radiant notes after his damage is not significant.

![]() |

Grimnir and Sareth haven't acted yet this round.
I saw you had scout archetype and knew something may be in there what granted sneak (I have a knife master scout about to earn that same ability), but didn't see it on your sheet. That's why, I guess. Damn multiclassing, haha.

My apologies, I thought I posted. Dang it...I wonder if it went to a different PbP
Sareth brings forth another Hound Archon (it's on the south side.)
ATK 1: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21 DMG if hit: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (4, 3) + 3 = 10

Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 DMG if hit: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Meanwhile he looks about frantically for anything he can to block the path of the incoming disaster (device, dormant anti-distruction guardian, heavy bookshelf, etc.)
He moves south and tries again to use the jewel to stop it.

![]() |

The newly summoned archon swipes ineffectually at the zelekhut!
Meanwhile, Sareth attempts to once again command the sphere to stop its slow trajectory. It seems to be slowing down somewhat.
Grimnir!

I'll be AFK from 14:00 EST today until Monday morning. I don't want to hold up the game, so I'll post now. If 1 round isn't enough, feel free to bot.
Sareth will try brute force in addition to the jewel (assuming that's possible.)

Radiant will call out to the group Can anyone cast a Dispel Magic on the Sphere. It is certainly magical in nature and the spell might at least disrupt what is protecting it.

![]() |

Grimnir will move over to the other enemy and take a swing. Using Bane.. He burns a destructive smite as well.

Swing 2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21 Miss?
Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 Miss

The archon misses repeatedly. Meanwhile, Sareth swings at the orb which continues to slow down and slowly stops. Without further ado, the orb floats higher and higher until it rests on the ceiling, its glow simulating the rays of the sun as it seems designed to do.

Whitwood's hound stands
Due to init orders, everyone but Sareth had a higher init than Radiant, so two things: 1) Grimnir and Whitwood's archons got to stand without being AoO'ed (can't AoO while readying... which I now cannot find the rule for, but will rule it as such anyway. GM power!), and 2)monster's init moves to just before Radiant and Sareth already went so...
Grimnir and Whitwood up again!

Radiant, to spring attack with a flank, you'd have to move over 120 feet before attacking and then another 10. I don't think you have a 130 ft move speed. Regardless...
The two archons manage to take the guardian creature down.
Sareth hears a voice. It doesn't really use words, but you get the sense that it comes from the crystal to the north. You can use the power of the sage jewel to access the library from the sky vault... which apparently is the sun you were swinging at this whole time.
Sitting atop the crystal is a pair of glasses.
Finally, you get the message that the jewel's power can be used with the crustal to show the location of the other jewels carried by other sages.
And that's the end of Beacon Below! I'll have Chronicles out shortly via either Dropbox or Google Drive, links sent to your Paizo inboxes. We just need to see what you do with the crystal for reporting purposes. Then I will post the final conclusion. Thank you all so much for bearing with me! It was a long and rocky one, for which I do apologize. Thank you for sticking in there!
