I as well my friend, I as well. I'll carve out the details of my backstory and get all my profile crunch in order... are there any specific info bits you need on our headliner thingies?

DM Bloodgargler |

What you have is fine.
Just Hp, AC, Init, Percep.... and saves if your stats are through a link on your profile.
Our diplomacy checks may all very well become intimidate checks...
That's fine... intimidate is faster. (and usually easier to roleplay?)

Loup Blanc |

Posting in since I saw that I could in recruitment, and to assure you that I'm still here and interested. I've been rolling a lot of ideas around in my head and can't figure out which to go with, as it seems like each has their ups and downs as far as assisting the party goes. Here's what I've got of each so far, for your perusal--lemme know what you think of each.
Personality wise, he'll be like the archetypal gunslinger, similar to Roland Deschain from the Dark Tower series or the Man with No Name from the Dollars Trilogy of films. Quiet, subtle, and cool under pressure, Araden is smooth on the draw and a sharp shooter--and he knows it. He isn't likely to be a big talker, although he has a clever tongue when he needs to fast-talk his way out of a situation.
As a pretty much unrelated side note, it'd be a bit much to work into this game at this point, but the occult avenger archetype from Radiance House, along with their rules for binding various spirits are very neat.

That Other Guy |

They're all cool builds, I think that the Dune Drifter is the coolest concept-wise, and that that personality type would help round out the group more, as right now we're all kinda wartorn robots without a sense of humor or mercy...
I think our characters overall have some 'holes' tactically in combat, so then we would be more reliant on eachother during those situations, which might be helpful.
All are cool, but my vote/.02$ goes to Door #2.

Zazz the Clockwork Juggler |

Ah I'll post more later! I'm just finishing up a graduate class's project thats due today.. but I wanted to be sure I checked in
edit: and alter m ytag line since it doesn't show what i thought it showed

Zazz the Clockwork Juggler |

Maps are plenty awesome.
Photobucket looks like it'll work. I got a few ads Once out of the times I've opened it. But i'm not too worried about it I think it was something specific to that one time.
Is my info bracket missing anything? I'm not sure I did it correctly but I think it works.. and my name links to some info on my profile and my mythweavers page (which is easier to update for myself but i'll try both)
From what I can tell the set up should be
Quotes and bolded for spoken correct?
Then normal type for description/action?
and that ooc function that makes it blue right?

That Other Guy |

Personally, I would really appreciate it if you had a picture for your character. It helps me understand their make-up at a glance, and helps me visualize for roleplay. I might be out of turn saying that, and if I am then I'm sorry and don't listen to me haha. If you're against it or whatever for some reason, that's you, and I'm only saying this as a suggestion anyways.
You are correct about all of the formatting stuff.
Also, the dice expression works like this, without the l33t sp34k:
[dic3=Maul Attack!]1d20+4; 1d8+4[/dice]
To our mutual victories, friend.

Zazz the Clockwork Juggler |

Cool beans.. I'll try to find some sort of pictuer that's close.. Not very good at drawing but I can kinda get something that I feel is close enough. Just might have different clothing or something. Or ask my friend to draw.
no problem~
Should have one tonight or tomorrow.
also never hesistant to tell me to do something different~
I'm new at this after all
[dic3=Maul Attack!]1d20+4; 1d8+4[/dice]
d20 is to hit, and d8 is damage yeah? So we can just assume it's like that ? sweet.

That Other Guy |

yes. the semicolon is the most important part.
For the Picture: Your profile and aliases can have a picture on them. If you go to the aliases tab on your account page, you look at your aliases and choose to change the picture. You go to a gallery of thumbnails and choose a picture out of them. They're preset, so you can't draw one and upload it for your profile picture, but you could definitely add a link of it to your profile if you have the yearning.

Fraust |

Pretty pumped here as well. Recently had two roll20 games fall apart, one I was playing in and one I was running, do to half the group having little to no interest in engaging with the game in any meaningful way. Seems like this group is all very excited :)
Also, for whatever relevance it has, I threw in a linked picture on Mayze's profile. Her normal profile pic is only sorta kinda how I picture her (for one she's an elf, not a derro...) so just sorta mentally mix the two and season with a hint of female Mad Max and we're probably on the same page.

Zazz the Clockwork Juggler |

Oh. Haha I do have a little diplomacy +7. Since it's a class skill and i'm Cha based. but ya'kno worthless at sense motive. Since he just takes things at face value without obvious problems with it
I'm not very experienced in using it-since my normal group has one guy who absolutely loves being the guy who talks.
I did originaly intend to roll diplo to try and be friendly to the guard but I wasn't sure if that was the correct way to use Diplo.
Seems like it would be an odd thing to roll diplo to be friendly to everyone I meet. That seems like a lot of rolls
but if we'd like I don't mind putting more points in from now on and reading up on the skill~

Araden the Wanderer |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Alright, Loup Blanc with a finished (mechanically) character. Still thinking on getting out the in-depth appearance, personality, and backstory, but hopefully I'll get it shaped up decently by tomorrow.
Araden's very much going to be a mish-mash of archetypal gunslingers, as mentioned above, but with a focus on some of the more personable types. If you've played Red Dead Redemption, he'll probably be a bit like John Marston: friendly enough and with a sense of humor, if a tad eccentric. Araden's quick to laugh or fast-talk, not so much to bully--when things start going south, he lets his gun do the talking.
On that note, Araden is a bit brash, no stranger to combat and self-confident in a fight. He doesn't pick battles he knows he can't win--he's a little too smart for that--but if he thinks he can get out of it alive, he's the type to test his boundaries and see how far he can push before it turns into shove. He's also not the most aware of his surroundings, unfortunately, and relies on Titan (his horse) to keep an eye and ear out for trouble.
In the looks department, Araden isn't too bad, and in all honesty probably doesn't look too far off from a young Clint Eastwood or the like. Usually has a grin on his face, very much with the smiling eyes that turn take on a dangerous, piercing look at signs of trouble. Not clean-shaven most of the time, although he keeps things from getting out of hand. He also wears a distinctive poncho done up with tribal symbols, which will eventually become his banner.
DM Bloodgargler, I know you mentioned in Recruitment that a lot of the towns are like the Old West without the Old West feel, so if Araden's a tad too "Western" for your tastes, I'm happy to tone it back. As far as backstory goes, at the moment, I have the tentative idea that he was raised by (or at least lived with) the half-orc horsemen tribes from the Rag Grass Fields--does this idea make sense in the setting, or is it way out there? Just trying to get a sense of how to incorporate the character into the world at large.

DM Bloodgargler |

Looks good. Background and personality stuff sounds great.
A more "Old West" flavor is fine. Not terribly common, but there are others of a similar culture(?).
I might propose an entry to you tomorrow... starting you at the Rusty Palomino
(which coincidentally has an Old West-type owner Enid Burr, and regulars.)

I'm actually going to have to bow out, I'm sorry to say
A friend of mine invited me to a gestalt RotRL game, I couldn't say no, and I know my limits, I'm in several games already and have a full time job
So very sorry to inconvince you
Less sorry but still so that I am not able to play with you.
I do wish you the best of luck, and hope that you have a blast.
I might check in on you later.

Zazz the Clockwork Juggler |

I'm a bit new to post by post. But typically should we wait for everone to have a say after an event? or just post when we can and let it flow?
(I ask since I just finished finals, and have no work for the next two weeks. I don't want to over post or anything. and i'm not sure the etiquette on such things.)
or like "once a day" sorta thing?

DM Bloodgargler |

Depends on the group and situation, but usually around once a day works.
Both so people don't miss opportunities, and so they do not get behind>lose track>lose immersion.
Don't be afraid to post more if you have something. The big things are "moving on", and escalations of hostility without giving others time to contribute.

Araden the Wanderer |

Finally got background and such in the profile for your perusal. Araden ended up being an offworlder from Golarion, as you mentioned in Recruitment as an idea. Let me know what you think!

Zazz the Clockwork Juggler |

One of the red vested men (with a cropped mohawk and a scar like a tree branch from forehead to cheekbone) interjects, "Hey leave it y'old kook. The lady has obviously some issue to settle."
Another of the red vested men moves to his side, and silently draws his attention to the rest of the group. The scarred man hesitates.
Question.
Was "the lady" in that quote refering to Mayze? or some unseen party?
Thought I'd ask before I ask a question

Draught |

Phew! Finally got internet back after a crazy lady ran into the telephone pole outside my wife's parents' house yesterday. We had Christmas night with no electricity, and didn't even get to finish making Christmas dinner!
