Quoted from the fellow
""May I stress again the importance of things being well under control here. No one here is to know I've hired you until you return. Of Okorn Spring, only Councilwoman Burr, my attache Rhett Ives, and myself are aware of the arrangement."
So That means Captain Timney doesn't know the specifics of the mission but is potentially coming with us?
DM Bloodgargler
By the way...
The way I handle group decisions is that once I get a confirmation from a second player with no objections, I give a little time then go with it.
If two players say lets go left, and no one objects (either in gameplay or a quick "no wait, I have no time to post but right is better" in discussion)... you go left.
Zazz the Clockwork Juggler
Hum I wanna clarify I understand the current dynamics.
so Capn Timney doesn't know he wasn't explicited invited ( by the group at least)but he seems to solidly know that we're hired by that person for *something or other*. Since he told the kiddos to stay put and then got himself a mule, and was the one to lead.
I am right in assuming that the benefactor is implying that he wanted Captain to go with us? As he asked him to make preperations and used him to gather us.
So as far as the info presented to us. Having him along does not violate any of the contracts right?
Though while in character I don't know it. It might become problematic when we return for payments.
Lastly we've been with Timney for a while, long enough to develop enough trust to survive anyway. Right?
Thought I'd ask before I respond to anything (my sense motive roll was -1 haha (Timney sense motive: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (1) - 2 = -1 in case it breaks while I wait to press enter on the play page)

Sorry.. I think I missed something editing Lachlan's line.
This part is unintentionally confusing...
Bergen Lachlan wants this kept quiet from residents, and was listing names of residents who are aware of the arrangement.
What I meant by not explicitly invited is, he is obviously "in the know" as you said. But Mr Lachlan did not mention him going or not going with you.
You might assume Lachlan did not expect Timney to go along, but it would not be a violation of terms or affect your pay. I expected it to be unexpected for Timney to say he was going along, but did not intend the "confusion".
It is up to you whether Timney goes. He must have his own reasons for wanting to go. You know he has lost the will to fight, but has a pack mule.
Araden the Wanderer
Well, if we can't get mounts for everyone, that's fine--Araden won't be riding ahead without you and getting himself killed or anything. It makes for faster travel, but it's not too much faster than walking, so that's fine. He's mostly for moral support (and keeping Araden from constantly walking into traps), hehe.

Forgot to answer question about Captain Timney's poor decisions in the past.
I did not have anything specific in mind, but likely his "orders" for restraint or mercy have led to some deaths.
Regarding this encounter and future unclear unfriendly encounters...
You are now beyond being able to "break" my plans so feel free to make choices in character without worrying if it is what you are "supposed" to do for "the story".
EDIT: I'm not saying attack these guys... ;)

I'm movin across the country over the next day or so. In theory i'll have net. But if I take a bit to answer or anything feel free to skip over, or just attack. Just makesuree I collect my thrown gear stuff after the match.
Pretty sure i'll have net but just incase

Photoshop 5. I enjoy making them... They take a bit of time - I think 30 minutes for that one, but the more complex ones can take a couple hours.
I keep anything movable (characters and foes mostly) in layers, and each round I can save a copy as a flattened JPEG.
I have a few shortcuts. Like for buildings...
I use the rectangle selection tool > layer as copy > duplicate that copy (which will be the roof).
I color the lower part darker,
and the duplicate lighter then move it slightly so the darker part looks like a shadow of the roof.
Then I clean up the corners to turn the darker part from looking like a shadow into visible exterior walls.
I also use a png of a grid, and for the coordinates I use Courier font because every letter is the same width.

Hey all, with sadness I must say that I need to drop out of this campaign. Everything is going well with it, I just need to prioritize things right, and right now I'm a part of too many games and need to cut a few out.
I am honestly very impressed by you Bloodgargler. Your level of depth and detail are extremely immersive, and I would love to play with you, perhaps in another realm, in another season. Calvarot was fun, and this campaign looks like it will be pretty sweet, I know that this campaign will be successful. But I cannot follow you this time.
Please dispatch of Calvarot as you will, or feel free to use him as an NPC, or even an anti-hero turned villain.
If I find time I may peek in and see what's going on every now and again.
Godspeed you all.

Unlikely I'll be able to post today... At parents for the day, about to do plumbing and other repairs.
---
The manifest shows that there should be another wagon.
Feel free to make "investigative rolls" percept etc... there should be tracks - therefore survival to divine their direction of departure etc
Interrogate raiders, inspect gear (making know(engineering) rolls on at least sleds and rifles).
I'll do some nudging tomorrow if needed.
Zazz the Clockwork Juggler
I'm rarely if ever the guy trying this.. So hopefully I rolled what I was suppose to roll and worded that enough to be intimidating.. Hah This game I've been playing a very different style than before.. Hopefully i'm doin it right!
DM Bloodgargler
We OK? Just busy? Need clarification on anything? Any issues?
Not feeling engaged?
If there is anything I can do let me know... here or by PM.
EDIT: Everything in real life takes precedence - even just not feeling up to it. I'm only letting you know I'm here to provide somewhere around the amount of enjoyment you were expecting at the start. The question is for my end of things like "Man, I wish there was more of X" or "I was expecting Y".
Araden the Wanderer
I've just been kind of busy lately and haven't had much time or content to post. Considered assisting with the interrogation before realizing Intimidation is a social skill Araden doesn't have. Not sure what items to take if any... mostly just been busy, in all honesty. The game's a lot of fun though.
Zazz the Clockwork Juggler
Haha. I was surprised at the "kill me quick thing" since I figured we'd have to end up taking him back to town. but I guess he' rather die then get caught later having had this stuff occur.
the grappel guns are just neat.. and I bet would be plenty useful for some cool plans. though I don't have prof.. but it could be pretty amusing to yank people into the darkness for a melee person to gank haha.

School picked up quite a bit for me, specifically in the "I spend all day staring at a computer screen reading PDFs" department, so by the time I get home at night it's particularly hard to get online. That said I think I have things about settled where I can get on every morning on the week days. Though that will make it where I won't be available much if at all on the weekends.
I'm very interested in working out my schedule so this works though. Game is going very well in my opinion and I want to stay a part of it.
Zazz the Clockwork Juggler
Anyone else wanting to ask anyquestions? Otherwise I' have a few short questions before asking Dwindey if she'd like to kill them herself as I gave my word they would die quickly. and possibly asking her if she thinks kiling the other fellow first would make him talk more. or if we should kill this fellow and then question the other guy assuming we can get him up.
DM Bloodgargler
Your main decision will be if you will return to Okorn with the current info, or attempt to reach the camp to retrieve the supplies from here.
Though Mayze and Zazz were the ones to get the captive talking, anyone may interrogate him at this point.
Recap of important points...
Okorn is the only known outland settlement to receive supplies from New Anodos (the Corporate City-kingdom). While picking up this shipment of supplies from Hirogdin bunker, the Okorn militia who were sent to receive the shipment overheard a distress call from Dr "somebody" - originating from a communications tower.
Apparently just having knowledge of this was enough reason to eliminate the Okorn militia picking up the shipment (though the Corporate forces attempted to make it look like an ambush by barbaric wastelanders). Though some of the ambushers took the shipment to their camp, some remained to find and finish off the one that got away.
This camp of corporate forces have been taking over a facility, and defend the perimeter from others who get too close. They apparently do not have full control of the facility.

Autograpnel requires Martial proficiency (firearms). Any class or archetype with proficiency in all martial weapons or all firearms can use them. Any with proficiency more specifically in two-handed firearms can also use them.
(so that is everyone except Zazz)
Heavy Weaponry on the other hand requires Exotic proficiency (Heavy Weaponry).
Repairing tech weaponry requires the Craft Technological Arms and Armor feat.
