Alehouse - Vika

Mister Plugg

Traits
Human/Pirate

Check
Combat 14

Powers
BYA, succeed at a Wisdom or Survival 8 check or Mister Plugg is evaded.
AYA, bury a card.

NOTE: Temp closing of locations occurs before the actual encounter, i.e before the Wisdom/Survival check.

I'll take on this Buccaneer to close the Festhall. I'll discard my Mace to get an extra powerful oomph!

Combat 9 (8+1 for adventure deck number): 1d8 + 2 + 1d8 + 1d4 ⇒ (3) + 2 + (3) + (2) = 10

Defeated and closed.

The Exchange

Waiting on Ezren and/or Jirelle at the Tower before I attempt. No point in trying the BYA if he'll get shuffled in anyways.

I only have a d6 so can't close, and can't help Jirelle close.

Dex: 1d10 ⇒ 4

:/

The Exchange

Barring an unmentioned blessing (I don't have one) I think we're SOL.

I'll make a Survival check against Plugg:
Survive!(8): 1d4 ⇒ 4
and end my turn: discarding my pistol and drawing two

Just thinking a plan out loud here...

So Ezren is up at the tower and can push Jemma down one card. That would let Vika encounter Jemma. On my turn, I can head over to the Alehouse and be in the same location as Vika. To encounter Jemma, you need to take on the Shackles Pirate Ship. That's probably a Wisdom 6 check for Vika with 1d6+1 from me and a blessing from Vika for 2d8+1d6+1 (average of 13.5). Then Jemma is a Combat 21 check since we haven't defeated any of the stupid villains. Using the Lucerne Hammer, my discard power, and the other blessing from Vika, that's 3d10+1d12+2+1d6+1 for an average of 29.5. That should be doable, shouldn't it?

Sounds good to me. Should I even explore since I can't close this location?

With the only Boon an armor, and only 1 in 6 chance of encountering it, probably not. But I wonder what the others say.

WHat shall I do?

Oh dang, I forgot that you come after me rather than Vika.

So I head to the Tower instead of the Alehouse and let you encounter Jemma. You still get Vika's blessing and my power to add to your Survival 6 check for 2d8 + 1d6 + 4 (automatic). And then you get to you use your Cutlass against Jemma with my power and Vika's other blessing for 2d10+3+2d6+1d8 for an average of 25.5 (82% of making it). That's a bit less than Vika but still doable?

BTW, your last update only had 5 cards; I think you keep forgetting you have a hand size of 6?

Right I forgot to put the physical blessing card in my discard pile. Screwed with me

That's still only five cards, but I think you left out the Rapier? Having the BoErastil helps with the fight against Jemma.

In any case, Ezren, I think you just pass, move Jemma down one card in the blessing deck, then I move to Tower and pass, and then we let Jirelle do her thing!

Yep, that's what I was thinking.

Assuming that Ezren and I do that...

Turn 19

Ezren passes

Turn 20
Blessing: Blessing of Gozreh
20/10 (Jemma shows up on next turn)
Koren

Koren moves to Tower and passes

Turn 21
Blessing: Blessing of Gozreh
20/9
Jirelle

Tower - Jirelle

Jemma Redclaw

Traits
Human/Captain/Pirate

Check
Combat 21 (11 + 10 for Scenario rules)

Powers
BYA, recharge a card, then summon and encounter the ship Shackles Pirate Ship.
If undefeated, bury the bottom 1d4 cards of your deck.

Shackles Pirate Ship

Check
Dexterity/Disable 8
Wisdom/Survival 6

Powers
If your check to defeat has the Swashbuckling trait, add 1 to it.

Just a reminder:
Blessings available: Vika - BotG, BofCC
Powers available: Koren - discard top card of deck for 1d6+1 to a check

Recharging Crossbow, then facing the Ship.

Koren let's use your ability on that?

Survival: 1d8 + 1d6 + 4 - 0 ⇒ (1) + (5) + 4 - 0 = 10

Plunder roll plunder: 1d6 ⇒ 5

Now on to the cruel Jemma.

Discarding Erastil and Cutlass.

Jemma's defeat!:
Jemma: 3d10 + 1d8 + 1d6 + 2 - 0 ⇒ (4, 8, 10) + (8) + (3) + 2 - 0 = 35

You gents have to temp close as well

Actually, if I read the scenario right and the forums confirm this, we just have to defeat her. No need to temp close locations as she doesn't try to escape - you just have to beat her in combat.

So well done!

The scenario rules just say to defeat her.

Yay!

The Exchange

Hey so what do I do?
Oh. I don't get to hit anything...

Good work!

Yeah, I thought you might have to hit stuff, but you didn't. :)

Okay, for finishing the scenario and the adventure, here are our rewards:

Scenario Reward: For every scenario, 1 player can replace 1 item for Besmara's Tricorne and one player can replace 1 weapon with Vindictive Harpoon +1.

Adventure Reward: Card Feat. Each player unlocks the ability to play Jirelle.

We have the following deck upgrades to choose from:

Weapon B
Armor B
Armor 1 x 2
Item B
Ally B x 2

I'll take one of the Armors and trade my Magic Scale Mail for Eagle Knight's Dress Armor.

For my Card feat, I'll take an Ally and include the Teamster in my deck.

The Exchange

J, can you provide the card text for Besmara's Tricorne and Vindictive Harpoon +1, for future reference?
For my Card Feat I'll take a Blessing (BoTG from Box) and I don't care what upgrade I get since I won't use any of them.

Besmara's Tricorne
Accessory/Magic/Swashbuckling/Besmara

Powers
Reveal this card to add 1 to your Constitution, Fortitude, Wisdom, or Survival check, or 1d8 to that check while on a ship.
Recharge this card to add 1d8 to a Constitution, Fortitude, Wisdom, or Survival check attempted by a character on a ship at your location.

Vindictive Harpoon
Spear/Ranged/Piercing/2-Handed/Swashbuckling/Magic

Powers
For your combat check, reveal this card to use your Dexterity or Ranged skill + 1d6 + 1; you may additionally bury this card to add another 2d6. Add another 1d8 if the bane has the Aquatic trait.
If you fail the check to defeat a non-villain monster, and you are proficient with weapons, you may put the monster on top of the location deck, if it came from one.

The Exchange

Conversion to Tier:

If we are converting, its actually really simple: we have 1 of each feat and shouldn't have any cards above AD 1. We'd simply be Tier 2, and would gain a die bump with all other things the same.

Thanks, I threw the text in Vika's profile in case anyone needs it later.

I haven't played the Seasons before. Do you guys think it would be wise for me to pick up an Armor feat?

= wants the tricorne LOL

Ezren, Seeker of Knowledge wrote:

Seems to me that the Seasons aren't much different than the regular play in the appropriate box, so if you'd have Ezren take an armor in "regular" play, then go ahead. I'm not sure that you need it right now, though.

Good news for you gents is that the Rogue deck isn't too helpful for Jirelle

I'll stay with this hand unless I roll the Tricorne

So is anyone else after the Tricorne??

Not really. But you don't get it permanently - every scenario one of us can take that and one can take the Harpoon. I'm fine with the default being Jirelle though. :)

This is what I have for our hands and feats (with Jirelle's card feat TBD):

I don't think I'd make the best use of either loot.

That's right for me, J
