I think it was mechanical and walls block detect magic so you wouldnt have know there was a magical chamber behind the books.
You are 100% right. Kudos for knowing the correct application of all the rules. :)

The World Around You |

Actually I'm heading off. I'll leave you all to reflect for a bit. If I post tomorrow it will more than likely be later in the evening, or at night. Think well about your characters' ambitions before answering Temerlyth's questions. Remember, I said this campaign will be driven by your choices... Mwa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.

The World Around You |

I'll have time on and off throughout most of the day until about 2:00 PM, after that I'll be busy, but should get time to post around 9:30 PM or so as well.

The World Around You |

For those that are wondering, yes, indeed, Temerlyth is allowing you to take as many masterwork weapons as you can carry. Take into account there will be a limited supply, and he may not have some of the more exotic weapons. If you'll post something in the discussion forum to let me know what you'd like for your character, I can either confirm or deny the existence of such a weapon in Temerlyth's armory. Then once your choices have been confirmed you can do an in-game post where your character picks out the weapons. You can describe them however you want, and I'll then add them to your hero lab characters, and send you all updated sheets. :)

The World Around You |

No magic weapons, only masterwork. Yes Sadira can have a masterwork hand crossbow, any weapon made of silver is masterwork by default, so if she wants a masterwork Silver scythe, that is fine. If that is all she wants you may post in-game describing her finding those items and taking them. If you want to lighten your load you can just leave your mundane things there in the armory. I'll update your character sheet and send you the PDF.

The World Around You |

Sadira, do you want a masterwork breastplate as well? There certainly would be one available...
Edit: If so, make sure to describe grabbing that as well, as part of your in-game post in the armory.

The World Around You |

Would he all the arrows listed on the d20 weapons page?
No, just regular arrows and crossbow bolts.

The World Around You |

I was hoping to get a lot of new arrows, but oh well. Does he have a masterwork longsword?
He most certainly does. One even has a name inscribed along the blade in Sylvan.

The World Around You |

Quimkithe you currently have a hundred arrows in hero lab... I don't think I really need to add more, do you?

If I took a Scizore, I would also be able to take a shield as well since it is a one handed correct? Also the scizore has this weird thing that ups AC if I don't attack, but lowers attack rolls if I try to use it as a weapon. Here is a better description. If someone could explain to me what it is talking about with this that would be greatly appreciated.

A scizore is essentially a sword, that's just a bit shorter than a longsword, but is built into/connected to a combination gauntlet-buckler, except the buckler is not a disc, it is rather shaped around the forearm. Scizores add 1 to AC because they can be used as a buckler. However if you are attacking with the scizore you both lose the +1 to AC that round, and take a -1 penalty on your attacks, because they are not easy weapons to wield, due the fact that you can't really bend your wrist.

The World Around You |

So after we all get our weapons do we want to go to bed quick then wake up quick, and move on.
That would, of course, require that both Tamarelle, and Imfazl also partake of the weapon/armor getting, and the meeting with Temerlyth in the morning, as he will want everyone to be aware of his "terms" for their work together.

Kaze o |

Am I allowed to take armor as well? He only specified weapons when he said
...pick out any weapons and ammunition you deem necessary.but in your description of the armory you said
All of the weapons, shields, and armor are of excellent quality...
was this a slip or no, because I'm going to take armor as well if it isn't.

Kaze o |

Also another thing if at all possible. I realize we have not entered combat yet so I haven't use my feat Shield Focus. If it is too late to switch that out that's perfectly fine, but if not I would love to switch for Endurance. I always forget that one and how important it is for Medium/Heavy armor wearers.

Since there have been no encounters and your shield focus feat has not been used you are perfectly capable of switching it out for Endurance. I will make that switch and add in the new equipment Kaze O borrows from Temerlyth before I send you the updated sheet.

The World Around You |

Excellent post Kaze O! That was very well written, and really helped me imagine how and why Kaze O picked out the items he did. I'll get you your updated PDF shortly. Then I'm afraid I'll be logged off, more than likely for the rest of today, but I will get a chance to post again later tonight, around 9:30ish.

The World Around You |

Kaze O, just realized and am taking the time to post because it will more than likely make a big difference. Endurance DOES NOT prevent you from being fatigued when wearing heavy armor (which full plate is - even masterwork full plate). As far as I know there is no feat that lets you sleep in heavy armor and not be fatigued. Endurance only covers medium armor. This might make you want to reconsider what armor Kaze O is taking. If so, you can just have him reconsider over night, and go back to the armory and switch out the heavy plate for some medium armor. The only other option is to actually pick out some medium armor for sleeping purposes, and putting that into your backpack, maybe chainmail, or a breastplate...? Think about it, and post your decision.

Kaze o |

Seems odd because you aren't fatigued when you sleep in light armor, but it says on the D20 website under the Endurance feat,
You may sleep in light or medium armor without becoming fatigued.
so is it saying you can't sleep in light armor already? I'm wondering if it might be a typo and they meant heavy armor... Alright so I will grab an Agile Breastplate and just be Medium encumbered

The World Around You |

Could i also switch my feat in for endurance?
Is there any darkwood composite bows +4
an Elysian bronze trident and a Chthonic steel trident (Imfazl would take both) is there also an adamantine chainmail and a mithril heavy steel shield?
Yes since no feats have been used, you may switch it out. There is one darkwood bow, but it's just a normal longbow. There is a +4 Strength Rated composite bow, but it is made of normal wood. There are no elysian bronze, chthonic steel, mithral, or adamantium anythings. There are a few items made of cold-iron, and alchemical silver. There is one fire-forged steel greatsword, and one frost-forged steel falchion.

The World Around You |

Ok thanks! Are there two masterwork tridents available then?
Yes, there are two masterwork tridents.

The World Around You |

I'm guessing you wanted the +4 STR rated composite bow then? Did you want that in addition to your other bow, or in place of it? Also, with all that gear you're medium encumbered so your movement is slowed, and you have a penalty to strength and dex based skills... Still worth it?

The World Around You |

Ill have Imfazl get rid of the old bow and decide that the two tridents wiegh him down too much. Will that be enough to get back to light encumbered?
If you drop the old bow and one of the tridents you'll be back to light encumbered. You can have Imfazl drop those off in the armory on your way out after Temerlyth talks to you, or run and do it quickly before he shows up in the library.
