Pinning pg 196 of the core Dark Heresy rulebook
Coles notes version. Normally caused by someone using suppressing fire. A pinning check is a willpower test, those caused by suppressing fire are normally a hard (-20) test.
The effects of being pinned are:
May only take a single half action per turn
-20 to ballistic skill tests
Must move towards cover, if in cover can only leave to retreat
To stop being pinned you make a willpower test at the end of your turn, this test is easy if you haven't been shot at since your last turn.
Some psychic powers, being in melee, being on combat drugs and some talents may effect these rolls or the need to take them.

Just giving you all a heads up, just spent the past day and half in the hospital. Even though I took extra care with the crazy cold I ended up with the bronchitis. Add having smoked for 23 years and quit 8 days ago.. My lungs and such are going crazy. Im still inpatient at the va here. Using my dad's tablet to make these posts, ive read nothing between my last posts and this one. As either your DM or fellow player I had to tell ya all whats what. No clue how long its going to take me to kick this. But like I said doc said maybe discharge me tomorrow. This is just a mass post to all the game discussions atm.
