Muni, Keeper of Memories
" Wolves are dogs as much as you are a canary."
The bird rides the orc's shoulder for a ways as they lead the group out.
"Meh. It's all the same to me. Just 'cause they look different now doesn't mean that they weren't all wolves once. 'S Just humans breedin' 'em all funny that makes 'em less wolfy today. Same's true of horses, sheep, and lots of other stuff. Hell, I remember when Orcs were just really angry Dwarves."
Kiron WhiteMoon
KJiron laughs quietly at what must surely be a just by the spirit bird, Human's turned wolves to dogs and dwarves to orcs, I've always wondered at the mating preferences of the humans, seems like a bad call on everything but the horses. then again they have came up with donkey's at some point.
Chops the Defender Dworg
As Chops waits for the group to move out, he contemplates what Solvistania and he have shared, what it means for his future plans. She is as much orc as I am. She would be welcome in Verdent as I will. Would she even want to go? As Solvistania passes he gives her cheek a pinch along with his most pleasant smile. I guess we will see. That path might even be closed for me. After everyone has passed he follows along at his accustomed position in the rear, constantly on the alert for followers.
Perception 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
His desire to protect his new friends, and especially this young kindred that seems so intwined with him helps enhance his focus to defend this group from any danger.
Gilian
"Kiron, if we want to catch the ting, let's aim from where we saw the last corspes."
Gilian follows the group near Slovistania, Pebble walking right by her. Both of them open their senses to the natural wolrld around, trying focus on the hole that the Oruk presence leaves in the wood.
"Pebble, we hunt the big creature that killed all the Worgs and Oruks. this is not a natural one, keep your senses open."
Perception 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25

Kiron WhiteMoon
Kiron was moving with the speed of his kind and at a wolfs pace that allowed him to easily gain distance on the others, as he felt he was starting to get further away in his scouting he doubled back until he came to the group and at Gillian's request he lead the group to the corpse. a good start He knelt for a moment to study the dead.

Perception DC 20. And why is Muni taking orders from Ilona? Ragnar's doomed.
Check over the game log. He's been taking orders from her ever since she fed him back at the ruined tower.
And yeah, "Ragnar's Doomed" is pretty much the character concept. Ilona just makes the fall faster, harder, and more fun to watch."
perception 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30 That'll do.
Kiron WhiteMoon
Kiron bursts off into a sprint his part of the formation was to make a visual contact and hold in position, though for that mater, if the goal was to keep it away from the gate, then he might make that call, the alpha could always howl about it later.
Anang
Muni, Keeper of Memories
Muni looks down at the elf for a moment, but ignores it, swiftly passing overhead and concentrating on the Oruk. Flying over the monster's head he begins letting out loud caws, circling wide and generally making a nuisance out of himself far enough up that neither the Oruk nor the Elf can actually do anything about it.

A cold voice, terribly cold stills the forest. "I can sense you, brother, in your prison of flesh. You have sunk low. Come, I shall free you of that elf that chains you." The voice seems to come from the lips of large orc that you are following, but only elf among you is Solvistania. Could it be thinking of her? "I grow weary of this game between us. Let us end it for all eternity, or as long as Izrador chains us to this realm." The voice is not especially loud, but the ice in it carries the promise of death and cold shadows.
Solvistania Elghreah
Solvistania's red eyes widen on the voice, and she unconsciously takes a step back away from the beast. Control yourself, she thinks, others are depending on you.
She looks at the oruk, and studies its movements, trying to determine whether it is indeed possessed by a demon, and, if so, what it is.

Hearing the voice, Chops' first instinct is to rush forward and protect Solvistania at the mention of elf. But the word brother gives him pause, since he doesn't think of her as a brother. Hmm.

The oruk is obviously possessed. His skin turned midnight-black and the area where he stands in the shadows of the treas seams to be significantly darker than the rest of the forest.

"I see that you have brought company, brother. You are not playing fair. I should level the playing field, don't you think?"
Initiative order:
Demon
Anang
Kiron
Solvi
Ragnar
Gilian
Chops
Ilona
Sorok
Oruk raises it's hands above his head and with a voice from the other side of the grave calls: "Come to me, my children!"
The earth rips open and waves of darkness burst through, coalescing into shapes of three enormous bears with midnight fur and teeth and with eyes black as Izrador's mirrors. The bears roar and stand in front of the demon possessed oruk.
Ragnar Death-Speaker
Ragnar casts Protection From Evil (click here and check the third effect of the spell)[ on Kiron. The critters shouldn't know about it until they try to attack, so hopefully at least one of them will waste their turn. Extremely hopefully, the others won't be smart enough to learn from the mistakes of their mates.
"Kiron, do not attack the shadow-beasts. Only their master."

"Kiron, do not attack the shadow-beasts. Only their master."
Chops runs off oblique to the summoned bears, readying his new urutuk, courtesy of Ragnar. When he gets a clear line of sight past the bears, he releases the hatchet, which tumbles end over ended towards the oruk.

Ilona charges the bear on the left flank, running diagonally to keep it between herself and the others. Blade as black as night, gems filling the shadows with a violet glow she swings, a wide swwping arc that descends with the certainty of a sunrise, silver edge gleaming wickedly.

"Sorok, we take out his protection, nothing gets by us, understand?"
Even as she battles the feindish creation she locks eyes with the demon, promising death.
Demon is target of her distracting ability, -2 to AC, reflex saves and skill checks. And yeah here's hoping those bears do their jobs as bodyguards and go after Kiron.
Ragnar Death-Speaker
Is there anyway to prevent the spirit from fleeing the body, once the oruk has been slain?
There's usually some substance that deals damage to the spirit inside as well. With Astirax and most demons it's silver. Devils it's iron. There's other weird stuff out there to. Guess we'll just have to see what makes it scream loudest.

Gilian wrote:Gilian keeps her distance with the bears and demon and casts mage armor on Pebble. He's a familiar. Casting it on yourself cast it on both. That's what Share Spells does
I beg to differ. From SRD Share Spells: The wizard may cast a spell with a target of “You” on his familiar (as a touch spell) instead of on himself. A wizard may cast spells on his familiar even if the spells do not normally affect creatures of the familiar's type (magical beast).
Edit and I realized delivering touch spells is only for familiar level 3+.
Damn, I'll have to wait a little more for that.

I've been doing that all wrong for a long time...

Buggery, away from the computer for a day and suddenly its all going on. Seeing as the demon turned round to face the group and I was directly behind it I guess I am now directly in front of it. Also, as it went first I guess not flatfooted.
Anang steps out of the undergrowth, burning hatred clearly visible in the distortion of his features and the tension in his voice as he roars a reply at the demon."I am not your brother, your brother is long gone and this prison of flesh is entirely the domain of the prison guard."
The elf punctuates the end of the sentence by hurling one of his wide bladed knives at the demonic oruk, a new blade flashing into the empty hand before the old has even reached the demon.

Since this is a steel arrow, can it be recovered for later use?
