Guinevere "Gwen" Duchamp |

Map is up to date. But the doorways are not easy to see. The wall is three squares across, the door is the middle square.
Got it. So Gwen moves 5 feet to G13, attacks and misses - badly.

![]() |

Right, everyone has acted in that round now, though it's gotten a little confused. Guards have had their action etc which I thought we were waiting for!
So, Roj and Basil you are up, then the following happens, which I'll tweak depending on your actions (I haven't moved G2 on the map yet).
Init
Basil 12
Roj 11
Guard 10
Eric 8
Bordan 7
Gwen 4
The first guard enguages Basil, while the second backs up and takes a crosbow from his back to fire at Gwen.
Atk Basil: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 DMG: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Atk Gwen: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 DMG: 1d8 ⇒ 8
He then collapses.

Guinevere "Gwen" Duchamp |

I'm a bit confused, I thought Basil took care of the first guard? So there should be only one guard at the door?
The first guard goes down with Basil's sword still embedded somewhere in his abdomen.
The second guard Steps forward over the body, and attacks Basil.
[dice=Atk]1d20+5[dice=DMG]1d8+2

Basil Kettering |

Basil takes a swing at the guard that just attacked him.
Greatsword: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15, for 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 1) + 6 = 11 damage.
If possible, I will try to adjust to a flanking position for the additional +2 to hit.

Rojerick Alandsson |

Roj steps forward (H12) and places a hand on Basil's shoulder, letting Sarenrae's warmth flow into the man, fixing his injuries. "Push forward. We have to get to Erik!"
Lay on Hands: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Borden
Borden maintains his performance and thrusts his spear toward Guard 2, unless Devargo's still alive.
Longspear: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Damage?: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
If Devargo is still alive, Borden 5-foot-steps and coup-de-graces him instead. Something something former shiver addict?
Maybe Coup de Grace (If Devargo's Alive): 2d8 + 8 ⇒ (5, 4) + 8 = 17

Guinevere "Gwen" Duchamp |

Is Guard n. 2 dead - or incapacitated? If so, Gwen will step out of the room and go search for Erik. If not, she'll attack him:
Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 6 + 2 = 92d6 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (4, 1) + 4 + 2 = 11
Another spectacular miss. Gwen's greatsword needs filing.

![]() |

Guard two is so far uninjured.
Bordan moves to slice the throat of Devargo, who dies in a gurgle of blood.
Gwen attacks the guard, but fails.
Eric, looking at the map, you *may* want to reconsider that action.
Eric, Basil and Roj again then.... Map is about up to date.

Rojerick Alandsson |

Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 5 + 1 = 18
Damage?: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Roj steps into the meeting-room, positioning himself at the door between the lone guard and the rest of the ship. (G14). He checks his grip on his scimitar before slicing at the guard in a short chopping motion.

![]() |

Basil's attack glances off the guards armour. Roj steps forward and manages to engage, the guard growls in pain as the scimitar bites home.
The guard (G2) Returns Basil's blows. Atk: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 Dmg: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Erik Copper |

In game terms, he's holding his action till the guards are almost upon him, and then casting Color Spray from his scroll.

Guinevere "Gwen" Duchamp |

Apologies for the delay, I didn't realize it was Gwen's turn to act.
Gwen moves to I14 and attacks the guard again:
Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 6 + 2 = 212d6 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (5, 2) + 4 + 2 = 13
@GM, I'm not sure about concealment, in that case it's the defender that rolls the 20% miss chance.
EDIT: I just realized that perhaps now it's Basil that's standing right in the frame of the door. In that case, Gwen should be able to pass through his square and get out of the room (taking an AoO eventually) in order to go and help Erik. She also probably can't attack guard n. 2 from inside the room.

Rojerick Alandsson |

Gwen just acted, sorry I forgot Borden.
Spear: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 1 = 7
Damage?: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Borden steps up, still reciting, and thrusts at Guard #2, but his thrust slides off the guard's armor.
Move to Move to H13, Standard Attack, Free keeps up inspire.

Guinevere "Gwen" Duchamp |

Gwen just acted, sorry I forgot Borden.
Yup. Just to recap: Gwen passes through Basil's square, possibly getting an AoO from guard n. 2, then goes to help Erik. She ends her movement in F14 when she finds guards n. 6 and 7, so she strikes at n. 7 (can I keep the above attack roll? It's +22 with Borden's inspire)

Rojerick Alandsson |

If Roj can attack G6 from his position, he does so. If not, he attacks G2.Either way, full attack and a 5-foot-step to G15.
Scimitar Attack: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 3 + 1 = 15
Scimitar Damage?: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Shield Bash Attack: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 3 + 1 = 18
Shield Bash Damage?: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Roj swings his sword quickly at the guard, using the momentum to set up a bash from his shield. He quickly steps to the side to allow Borden to fill the gap.
===========
Borden keeps up his performance, stepping into the gap Roj left and attacking G7 with his longspear.
Longspear Attack1d20+4+1[/dice: 1d1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
4/8 rounds of Bardic Performance used.

2d4 ⇒ (1, 1) = 21d4 ⇒ 1
Roj steps and attacks G2, failing to hit with his sword, but catching him with the shield on the way past. Basil's attack glances off the guards Armour.
G2 strikes back at Basil.
G6 and G7 strike at Gwen.
G2 Atk: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23 DMG: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
G6 Atk: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20 DMG: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
G7 Atk: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16 DMG: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
[ooc]Ok, actions from each of you to get back to the guards actions.[/oc]

Erik Copper |

Erik is going to dart out the door to square E10, and there cast Color Spray on G8 and G6!
I believe currently G3, G9, G10, G5, and G4 are color sprayed, correct?
Leaving only G11, G8, G6, G7, and G2 up?

Rojerick Alandsson |

Roj waits until Gwen (hopefully) moves away from the pain train and steps into the square she vacates (hopefully). He launches another series of attacks at G6.
Scimitar Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 5 + 1 = 11
Scimitar Damage?: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
If I can full Attack, reduce attack roll by 2 for the Scimitar.
Shield Bash Attack: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 1 = 7
Shield Bash Damage?: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
==========
Borden keeps up his performance and attempts to stab G2.
Longspear: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 4 + 1 = 15
Damage?: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Guinevere "Gwen" Duchamp |

Since Gwen's init comes after Erik's, I'll wait to see the results of his color spray before my action. By the way, those pesky G6 and G7 both managed to hit Gwen :-(

![]() |

Eric steps out into the open, and reads a scroll. The guard behind him shouts something incoherent. One of the guards facing Gwen falls in a sray of lights, the other blinks but continues his attack.
G8: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
2d4 ⇒ (2, 1) = 31d4 ⇒ 2
G6: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Guinevere "Gwen" Duchamp |

Gwen swings her greatsword one more time against G7:
Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 6 + 2 = 222d6 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (4, 1) + 4 + 2 = 11
Then, if G7 goes down she 5'steps to E13, if not she moves to F13.

Erik Copper |

For Eric's next turn, he's going to cast Ghost Sound so that it seems that four rough voices yells from upstairs in desperation things like, "The city guard is here!" and "We're done for!" and "Everybody run while you still can!" Basically trying to panic the remaining guards into getting the hell out - Eric will cement this by yelling himself, "Everybody run! Enough fighting, let's all just get out of here!"

Rojerick Alandsson |

Roj steps into the spot vacated by Gwen, placing a hand on her shoulder. At the same time, he moves his shield into a defensive position, covering both of them.
Lay on Hands: 1d6 ⇒ 3
LoH 2/3 used, Shield Bearer trait used. Gwen gets +2 to AC for the next round.
==========
Borden casts Daze at G2, while maintaining his performance.

Guinevere "Gwen" Duchamp |

Gwen flashes a smile and a nod at Roj, then attacks G8
Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 6 + 2 + 1 = 242d6 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (1, 6) + 4 + 2 = 13
Does Borden's performance affect damage as well? If so, add +1 to damage to G8.
She then takes a 5' step to F12. If G7 and G8 are both disabled, she instead goes all the way to E11 to put herself between Erik and any approaching enemy.
"Hang in there kiddo, help is on the way!"

![]() |

Roj, you've posted two actions, both of which depend on Gwen moving for you, which she hasn't done int he way you intended.... Which are we going with?
Bordan strikes at the guard he's facing off against, but misses again.
Gwen takes out the guard she is facing, and steps around to put herself between the remaining two in the hall. Roj steps out to follow her, laying hands on and protecting her as he does so.
Ok, I need an action from Basil, Then the guards will go and I already havbe most of your actions for the next round.
Init
Basil 12
Guard 10
Eric 8
Bordan 7
Gwen 4
Roj 3

Guinevere "Gwen" Duchamp |

Gwen takes out the guard she is facing, and steps around to put herself between the remaining two in the hall.
Actually, G6 is down thanks to Erik's color spray, so it's just G8 as far as I can see on the map, right?

Basil Kettering |

Muttering something about poor luck, Basil attempts to take out a guard...
Greatsword: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 4 + 1 = 12, for 2d6 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (5, 2) + 6 + 1 = 14 damage.
...and groans as another swing goes wide.
Seriously, I have been having some terrible rolls in this thread!

Pretty much.
Seriously, I have been having some terrible rolls in this thread!
You can say that again!

![]() |

The guard facing Basil strikes back.
Atk: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18 DMG: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
The guard facing Gwen attacks her too.
Atk: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16 DMG: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
The final remaining guard also moves in to strike at Gwen
Atk: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18 DMG: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
The others remain uncoscious as far as you can see.
You are all up.

Guinevere "Gwen" Duchamp |

"Erik, take cover!"
Roj's intervention was just enough to save Gwen from another telling blow. Things are getting real hot real fast though, so Gwen opts for a more careful approach.
Fighting defensively, -4 atk +2 AC.
She strikes at G8 again
Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 6 + 2 + 1 - 4 = 202d6 + 4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (3, 4) + 4 + 2 + 1 = 14
then 5' steps to F12. If G8 goes down, Gwen goes all the way to E11 instead (moving through F12).
