Well, I could pick the game up as a GM, but I'd probably manage to post only once every other day. And we'd either need to recruit a new player or keep Ai'sha as an NPC in the party.

Irakelesh |

I've got an email out to a RL GM who's been GMing a game I'm in for the last couple of years. That game seems to be fading so maybe this guy will be interested in jumping in and doing the PbP game. I'll let you know.

Fitliss Phitzinger |

It sucks that we keep losing GM's. I hope your idea goes through Irakelesh, I really want to keep going with this. I don't have anything I can do myself though.

GM Pendrak |

Let me re-read through everything that happened while I was gone, and I'll get a post up today.

GM Pendrak |

Okay, I think I'm up to date. I'll recap briefly what happened so far, just to refresh everyone (myself, especially) since it's been at least 3 months since anyone has played and over a year for me.
The campaign began when your group gathered at the Tooth and Hookah to finalize the terms of your adventuring party, and give it a name: Pharasma's Seekers. The original line-up consisted of Fitliss, Irakelesh, Aliva, Ai'sha, as well as Selassie and Laroisael, who would ultimately not stay with the group. The group was to be part of a lottery: the Osiriani government was allowing select groups of adventurers to explore and clear out various sites in the necropolis of Wati, a desert city ravaged by a plague centuries ago.
The party was assigned the Tomb of Akhentepi. They explored this tomb successfully, despite immediately almost being killed by a dart trap. They battled a sandling, giant camel spiders, animated dolls (which gave them quite a bit of trouble), and ghost scorpions. Laroisael disappeared, and G'nock appeared. They returned to town, and then came back to finish exploring the tomb, where this time they faced even more traps, survived an animate sarcophagus (which swallowed Selassie whole before it was dispatched, causing her to eventually leave the party soonafter), battled beetles, and finally found Akhentepi's tomb, guarded by an iron cobra. The treasure of the tomb was theirs.
The party returned to the Tooth and Hookah, where that night there was a large get-together of different adventuring groups. Ai'sha met the Black Kiss, whose Sand Scorpions had fought ghouls in a perfume shop. Fitliss met Velriana Hypaxes of the Scorched Hand, who was looking for the Temple of the Erudite Eye. He also met most of the other people in the room, including the Dog Soldiers, the Daugthers of the Desert, and the Cryptfinders. Irakelesh hit on Sigurn from the Daughters of the Desert who warned him of the Scorched Hand's seeming obsession with the Temple of the Erudite Eye.
The group's next assignment was the House of Pentheru, a long-abandoned estate. Here they encountered a haunt of an angry mob, bashed in some skeletons, destroyed a deceptive sandman (very different from the sandling, earlier), fought flying heads called beheaded and a devil dog at the same time with the party split, were nearly overwhelmed by a swarm of scarabs, and despite some of them being paralyzed, dispatched some screaming vargouilles.
Now the group is upstairs in the manor, preparing to explore the last few rooms.
I believe you guys have been to the outer gates (B1), outer courtyard (B2), servant’s yard (B5), both guard quarters (B6 and B7), the foyer (B11), the parlor (B12), the bath (B13), the inner courtyard (B15), the chapel (B16), the dining room (B17), the servant’s dining room (B18), the second floor balcony (B20), and two upstairs bedrooms (B21 and B22).
You still have to explore downstairs the garden (B3, outside the mausoleum), the mausoleum (B4, stairs leading down to it, outside), the pantry (B10), the privy (B14), the kitchen (B19), and upstairs you have the office (B23), the guest room (B24), and the master bedroom (B25).
Does that seem correct to everyone?

GM Pendrak |

Alright, we're back on. Let me know what you guys want to do next, new post is up in gameplay.

GM Pendrak |

I wanted to get to the excitement as quickly as possible, so I streamlined searching the mostly empty rooms up here.

GM Pendrak |

Nice to have you back
Nice to be back.

GM Pendrak |

I sent an e-mail to Paizo's customer service to get that changed back.
Just so you guys know, I am starting a Strange Aeons campaign and you are all welcome to apply with characters. I'm doing a deal with another GM where we each GM a campaign the other wants to play in, so he is running War for the Crown for me.

GM Pendrak |

Welcome back, G'nock. Sorry for rolling so badly when I rolled for your attacks.

![]() |

<blush> I just cribbed off of your latest 'botting of g'nock; </blush> I'll check over my character this afternoon and post an amended shot then.

Ai'sha |

Next two weeks I'll be extra busy with work as I'll be training for a new position. I'll try my best to keep the pace but please bot me as necessary, things should go back to normal after that.

GM Pendrak |

I'll give a few more hours for Aliva, Ai'sha, and Fitliss (though I understand he's not getting to do much right now) to post, then I'll go ahead and bot. I hope you guys aren't losing interest, I know that this fight is quite a slog.

Irakelesh |

Not losing interest. Trying to think of something else to do. It wouldn't be so bad if we could actually roll decently.
Aliva, did you mean to post in the gameplay thread?

![]() |

Still interested here as well ... after we're out of melee, I totally need to level up ... then perhaps my attacks won't be so lame ...

GM Pendrak |

I did yes haha
When you get a chance just paste it into the gameplay thread with the dice-rolling left out, as a miss.

GM Pendrak |

You could also probably describe the creature to some scholar or something in town and learn about it's defenses. And then buy cold iron weapons. They're quite cheap, just double the normal cost of a weapon.

GM Pendrak |

You just get one day, or at least tomorrow you will have another assignment, but it's like a 15 minute walk or something back into the town. You could easily come back this same day.

Fitliss Phitzinger |

Sorry, I've just been leaving the gameplay thread open, so I keep forgetting to check the discussion. Not that I have much to add, going back to town is a good idea at this point.

Ai'sha |

So, training will probably continue for one or two more weeks. And my mother just had a surgery, she is fine and recovering well, but it'll be some time before she can do anything without help. That means I won't be very active for some more time, though I expect things to be normal again by the end of the month.

GM Pendrak |

So I was looking back, and after the first attempt on the first dungeon you each received 225 gold, 5 silver. You also should have 4 potions of cure light wounds in the party treasure, unless those were divided up at some point.
Another thing I want to have happen before you guys set out again is for G'nock to do two things. First, buy a two-handed melee weapon, preferably cold iron. He has Strength 16, and could easily be dealing a lot of damage in these fights but he has nothing to do it with. Also, he has a +1 composite longbow but his statblock does not reflect that. Basically he has been shorting himself 3 damage on each attack.

Aliva Kulthane |

We know where the creature is and if we can all connect we could probably kill it quickly, I mean yes the cold iron wpn lasts forever or until you sell it. The blanche can be applied to anything and is a solid investment in the long term.

GM Pendrak |

Hey, I actually did want some of those to be masterwork weapons and somehow I totally forgot, lol. We will say that there are normal and cold iron masterwork versions of any of the weapons you guys happen to want.
Also, Fitliss, that feat specifically points out that you can still wield cold iron weapons without penalty. So from a mechanical standpoint you're fine. However, from a roleplay standpoint I do like what you're doing: the idea that he is, nonetheless, a little leery about cold iron, and would probably avoid using it. Though I could see in a pinch, if his allies were in danger, grabbing a cold iron weapon and taking the risk.

Fitliss Phitzinger |

That’s the direction I was going with it. He’d probably be willing to use the blanch, but he’s not going to carry a cold iron weapon around.

GM Pendrak |

Sorry about the slowdown, had a spill on my bicycle Monday (the day I started a new job, which was fun -- always nice to make a first impression with blood on your jeans and a torn up hand and elbow) and it's been painful to type, but I think I will be able to get going again later today.
