Moving on; feel free to backtrack for Silvio's healing and anything else but trying to get my own posting rate back up after feeling lax for the last week...

Moving into the other non-collapsed entrance, you find a 10-foot-wide, 50-foot-long landing that overlooks a larger chamber to the north, accessible by a short flight of downward-sloping stairs. The entrance to the larger room is framed by dozens of skeletons carved into the 50-foot-wide arch, their bones intertwined with hundreds of carved snakes. Unnerving ripples of black smoke slither and dance among the carvings.

Knowledge (religion) DC 25:

This archway marks the entrance to the ancient Olman land of the dead, marking the chambers beyond as an ancient crypt, or perhaps a place where priests prepared the dead for their journey into the afterlife.

Beyond that, it's too dark for most of you to see, as the light from outside only extends so far.

Sekathral and anyone else if you produce some sort of light source.:

The floor of the large chamber at the bottom of the stairs once contained a breathtaking carving of an ancient city, yet time has taken its toll on the map-like carving, reducing it to a tangled mess that, ironically, almost seems to reflect ruined Tamoachan above. The walls are decorated with brightly colored frescoes depicting a royal court in ceremonial garb and a king arrayed with his magnificent armies. Pathways wind through the ruins, affording a twisting route through the rubble. In the center of the room is a wide plaza, in the middle of which rests a low stone table.

Kast casts Discovery Torch and allows the warming light of Sarenrae into the room (touching his shield), but immediately wishes he hadn't and stops short.

Silvio thanks Zstelian for the healing and turns his attention to the other tunnel. "Haha, Sekathral you jester. Silvio would have noticed if it was a lady with red hair. Not as much now that Silvio is in the company of the lovely lady Liamae, but a fiery red haired lady is hard to ignore", he laughs.

The chelaxian lights the way with his light enhanced sword and produces a manly "aah" the the light revels the floor carvings. "What city is this?" he asks as he moves up to the stone table. .... and get's electrecuted by the hidden death trap...

Yes, Sekathral, though it's sort of a moot point since you all made the saves. Moving ahead, since there's not really much to do, and this will happen pretty quickly anyway.

Round 3
A wall of fire suddenly springs to life along the length of the southern wall, crackling as it sends a wave of heat through the chamber and blocks your escape. Even worse, it suddenly begins moving to the north!

Mechanics:

I'm rolling randomly to determine where you are on the map, except for Silvio, who's by the table in the middle of the room. First coordinate is how many squares you are from the south wall; second is how many squares from the western wall.

There does not seem to be a way to disable it that you can see. There's nothing preventing you from going east. And in fact, you can see what appears to be some sort of natural vent leading farther east from the collapsed area of the eastern wall.

"Hey! Watch i....oh poopsies!" Kyson's tone changes from alarm to burning hurt.

Nice wall of fire. Wish I could so that. Sarenrae? Maybe someday?

Kyson, unwilling to be rushed anyplace, casts Resist Energy (fire) on himself. Resist 10 Fire for 50 minutes.

Kyson runs out through the wall back to where they came.

If he survives, he'll tell the party: "I lived! Come here if you think you'll live. I'll heal you!"

As Zstelian, Silvio, Sekathral and Urol rush to the hole in the wall to the east, Kyson steps through the fiery wall, which burns horribly even despite Sarenrae's protection. 11 hp, after the resistance

Despite his cries, Khazmia follows suit, the smell of burning half-orc flesh filling the chamber as her skin quickly blisters in the intense heat. 19 hp damage

The flame continues inexorably toward the north wall, moving a couple of feet a second 15 feet per round.

To the east, the tunnel appears to be a natural vent through the stone rather than a constructed entrance. It will likely be a squeeze for everyone but Urol, but you think you can continue through it.

"Oooh, fascinating," Urol exclaims. "We can go deeper."

He looks back over their shoulder. "I do hope they're OK over there. It sounded painful," before trying to push around Zstelian down the tunnel.

Khaz's eyes tear up with the blessing of her goddes. Her skin, scorched and blackened in spots will be a mark of her faith.

"I...yes, it is, Kyson." She grits her teeth to stay upright, but can't help the sigh of relief that comes with the soothing healing of the wand.

"We should probably go look after them, I suppose. But could you possibly hit me with that wand one more time before we go? Not that I don't appreciate Our Lady's Grace, but beyond this point could be anything."

Silvio looks indecisively between the oncoming wall of fire and the small vent.

If he hears Kyson and Khazmia speak on the other side:

Silvio dives into the vent as the wall of fire gets dangerously close. "Silvio heard Kyson and Khazmia talking on the other side. They seem to be fine", he informs the others.

Else:

Silvio looks at the raging wall of fire hesitantly. Finally he steals himself and says: "Silvio can't leave them there. Silvio will be fight back." Then he drags his tunic over his head to shield his hair and skin and leap through the flames.

It's not that small: You can squeeze through or into a space that is at least half as wide as your normal space. Each move into or through a narrow space counts as if it were 2 squares, and while squeezed in a narrow space, you take a –4 penalty on attack rolls and a –4 penalty to AC.

Silvio, you're about to dive back through the fire when you hear Khazmia and Kyson. After another few moments, the wall passes your place of refuge, continuing on to the northern wall, and you can see their blackened forms.

As Sekathral, Zstelian and Urol continue on, they find the vent empties into a room with walls covered with eroded glyphs and heiroglyphic images depicting what appear to be batlike creatures feasting on humanoids. The eastern wall beyond a low archway in the room consists of a strangely out of place sheet of iron.

If it is fire like Silvio's passion for life, then it should be embraced and nutured. But if it is a wall of fire manifesting out of nothing, then it should be respected and not played with! You of all should know that. Your goddess, the lady Sarenrae, has talents with fire. Silvio would guess that you put her in the first category. As Silvio understands it she has a very nice form.", he says and trails off. "Where was Silvio? Yes, the way forward to adventure lies here through this vent. We must hurry and catch up with our companions!"

"We'll wait here until we can catch up. I wonder how they are seeing without our light...oh yeah, the wall of fire. Duh."

Kyson waits to heal Khaz again, the delicate wilting flower.

"You could try. Maybe you could hack through it while *someone*," Kyson's gaze goes to Sekathral. "...someone should climb on top and see if it can be tipped."

Kyson feels around in his backpack.

"I think I might have a shovel or something. We can dig under it, maybe?"

Kyson fails to find a shovel.

"Does anyone have a digging thing?"

Kyson begins to look for some wood to dig with.

"Here, K... ", he begins, then thinks about what he's doing and turns suddenly away from the cleric, "Er, Zstelian. Take this and pour it all over the wall before you ruin yer bill. You might want to step back a bit while it does its business.Then, Grab Silvio by the ankles, take a bit of a run-up and slam him against it head-first a couple of times. That'll do it"

He looks dubiously at the wall.

"I can try to climb over it, mate, but I'm buggered if I'm having that thing fall on top of me if it can be bloody well tipped. Still, I'll try anything once."
