"perhaps we should sstore Killian with the other statues here while we complete our mission and pick him up on the way back."

![]() |

"Hopefully no one notices another statue added to the collection. While you all move him, do you want me to work on opening the door?"
I don't recall...did we have Killian hold onto one of the objects we are to deliver?

Maximo Incognito |

Maximo considers Killian for a moment, then falls back into character. "Seems to me we might want to have a little chat with this cult about Killian. Especially if they think he might have something they want." He twirls his mustache and chuckles. "He should be safe enough here for the moment, but I don't like the looks of those other animals. It could be that the Lissalans are keeping them in stone storage until such a time as they can be unleashed on other unsuspecting visitors. I say we shatter them."

![]() |

Smashing the others, leaves them to wonder why this one, he taps Killian, remains unbroken. They may be tempted to hide or destroy him in turn. Best we move him to one side and we can recover him at the end of our mission... for the Consortium.

He will be exceedingly heavy and we run the risk of damage to him if we drop him in a fight.
We could use him as a battering ram

GM Chris Mortika |

Kilian is indeed too heavy for one person to lift. If you want to set him down inside the area with the cages, he would probably remain unmolested until your return.
It might strike you as surprising that none of the Lissala-worshippers have come to investigate James' three gunshots. In the distance, though, you can hear a choir of voices, intoning a series of long notes.

"Do they expect us or not? Let me try to open this door, and see if I can get us inside."

![]() |

Happy Stone looks Kilian up and down.
I guess that answers the question of how high stack, uh,...coprolite.
Happy Stone looks around for a place to lie Kilian down to rest...you know, a bedrock.
Don't worry, Kilian...we'll get you back. I think you can still be a Pathfinder rockstar...time shale tell.
"Maybe we should cement our plans for Kilian?"
Sorry, I should stop punning and be gniess. But my puns keep getting boulder by the moment.

Happy enjoins the party at the door...still feeling a bit sedimental at Kilian's fate.
Happy will sheathe his dagger and draw his club again.

James' Assist: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13; he recognizes part of the locking mechanism, indicating that the key needs to be slightly magnetic.
Shel's Disable Device: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25 + 2 = 27; Shel makes short work of the lock. The metal bars open, and the black velvet curtain pulls aside, revealing a similarhallway to the one you're in.
Thirty-five feet down, there's an opening, a side-tunnel of some sort, on the right wall.
Fifty feet down, the hallway opens up to the left, and there is another, larger passage to the right.
About a hundred feet or so down the hallway, there's a third side passage off to the right. Just there, the hallway ends. The wall at the end has some kind of large picture hanging on it, but you're too far away to see it clearly.

![]() |

Shel will check the first tunnel, making sure nothing can rush up behind the party, quite spooked from the last encounter.

![]() |

Oblivious to James' faux paux Chun Hei nods and begins to head down the passageway, pausing for a moment to make sure the group is reasonably together, blade in hand still.

GM Chris Mortika |

You move ahead to the first fork in the path. The chanting is coming from up ahead.
To the right, the passage has a curtained-off area five feet down the right wall, a secondary passage to the left after 20 feet, and ends fifteen feet after that in another curtain.
From here, you can tell that if you continue farther straight ahead, the open area on the left has several tables with benches on both sides. It reminds some of you of the dining hall back at the Grand Lodge.

![]() |

Shel, not being able to resist the curtain, heads toward the first right, and then checks the closest curtain. If nothing is there, she will proceed down that particular hallway, checking the secondary left handed passage.

GM Chris Mortika |

Shel, you move down the right corridor, and push back the curtain in the right. You see a short hallway, 15-20 feet or so, with a mosaic on each wall. They have similar motifs: at the bottom, in simple outline, is a human figure (male o the left, female on the right). Then there are two scenes of ... modification. Burning, scarring, removing skin to expose muscle underneath. At the top of each mosaic is a figure (male on the left, presumed female on the right, but her breasts have been removed, so it's hard to tell) with its arms raised in glorious supplication.
At the end of the hallway is another heavy black curtain. Light seems in from around the edges of the curtain. From beyond, you can hear one person beginning a short prayer, and three or four other voices respond with the second half of each phrase, such as "...so we might become as her will demands." or "...as a tree, pruned and obedient." or "...I become beautiful in Lissala's eyes."
All the praying seems stressed, as if it were being recited through gritted teeth.

"I don't like the sound of that, but we aren't supposed to hurt anyone," Shel whispers to the others. "I say we leave it alone and head the other direction."

Maximo Incognito |

"Sounds like a lavatory to me." Akbar mutters, then whispers to the group. "And I believe our instructions, dear Shel, were to keep the hurting to a minimum, and avoid deaths. I attempt to follow this philosophy daily, but evil cultists often force a strict response. Also, I believe the word sabotage was used? Regardless, I think we should perhaps take a peek to insure everything is coming out ok in there."
Akbar proceeds to peek around the curtain.

Maximo,
One of the standing figures intones "Great is Lissala; inviolate, her will." All six figures then chant in unison. "Her blessings on those who hear and obey."

![]() |

"Sounds like its sick in there. Let's leave them to their vices and get our mission done!". Shel heads back down the hallway, and again begins proceeding down the corridor, looking carefully everywhere for more diabolical traps.

Chun Hei whispers
"We sshould not disturb their holy rite, let us do what we came for."

Shel moves further down the hallway, away from the sights that disturbed Maximo.
At the next fork, there's a passage left (east) or straight ahead (south). The passage left has two options: it turns back left again after 25 feet (probably turning back to that general 'dining area' and it also turns left abfter about 45 or 50 feet, probably also connecting with the large gathering area.
If you don't turn left, there's another black curtain, dead ahead (south) 15 feet. Shel doesn't hear anything coming from the curtained-off area. The chanting continues in the distance, behind the party (to the north).

![]() |

Shel stealthily moves ahead (south) to the quiet curtained off area. She carefully takes a peek behind the curtain, hoping this one would be less gruesome than what Maximo had witnessed.

Happy Stone follows along, trying not to get lost or confuzzled by the temple.
Forgive me if this is a bad question, but is there someone else who's run the mod who could map where we've been so far? I feel like I'm walking blind for lack of a visual reference, however, don't want to impose if that's an issue.
