Round Five

The last Ettercap tries to strike Umlo, but the Ettercap either missed, or the Dwarf Fighter Rogue deflected the attack.

The unique humanoid moves to attack Umlo. One of Droja's spider snaps at the Dwarf-like spider woman. The mistress of the Ettercaps misses Umlo.

Ragnir moves the Spiritual Waraxe and slices into the unique humanoid with it.

Droja's last spider attacks the last Ettercap. It missed.

Kaos demonstrates his interesting trick, and is unaffected by the flames. He then pulls a throwing axe and manages to get it caught up in the webs.

Umlo makes a wild swing with his Battleaxe. The right to left stroke misses the Dwarf abomination. But his left to right back stroke cuts into the humanoid.

Ulfgard jumps off the stairs. On his way down he swings not once but twice at the unique humanoid. He misses with both swings of Agrimmosh. The webs slows Ulfgard's fall. When he reaches the bottom it is like taking a single step onto a flat surface. Ulfgard is unharmed.

As impressive as Leira's first arrow was against the unique humanoid, her next arrow barely left her bow before getting deflected by the webbing.

Anga casts Magic Missile at the Dwarf spider-woman. The missiles do not get caught up in the webbing. They strike true. The unique humanoid dies falling back into the webs. Her now lifeless corpse tears through the webbing landing next to the upright Ulfgard.

Ingrahild draws out her bow.

Haskyll loads another bolt and fires. It sticks into the last Ettercap. The purple humanoid falls unconscious.

Webs stretch between the walls of the chamber at the bottom of the shaft, supporting two large, webbed cocoons hanging a few feet above the floor. A large circular stone disk stands in the eastern wall of the room, surrounded by a circle of Dwarven runes. Three more runes are carved on the face of the disk. The great disk is flush with the wall and has no visible hinges or handles.

Kaos will discover that the cocoons are setup in a way to honor the demon Mazmezz with bellies and mouths exposed.

Before Leira attempts to open the door she reads the runes. Written in Dwarven, the runes around the perimeter of the disk read, “Rest here until mine sons touch upon thy blessings.” The runes in the center of the disk are Dwarven symbols for “loyalty,” “duty,” and “strength.”

The circular stone soundlessly begins to slide into the surrounding stone. You can see a chamber beyond.

The tightly spaced pillars that line the walls of this wide chamber gracefully suspend a vaulted ceiling; walls, ceiling, and pillars alike have been cut from the surrounding stone. Centuries of dust coat every surface, and the air is stale. A large translucent panel is set in the center of the floor. On either side, a stone door sits inside a low arch.

DESCRIPTION

This amulet grants an enhancement bonus of +1 on attack and damage rolls with unarmed attacks and natural weapons.

Alternatively, this amulet can grant melee weapon special abilities, so long as they can be applied to unarmed attacks. See Table: Melee Weapon Special Abilities for a list of abilities. Special abilities count as additional bonuses for determining the market value of the item, but do not modify attack or damage bonuses. An amulet of mighty fists cannot have a modified bonus (enhancement bonus plus special ability bonus equivalents) higher than +5. An amulet of mighty fists does not need to have a +1 enhancement bonus to grant a melee weapon special ability.


Leira carefully enters the chamber. She does not find a trap. She checks the translucent glass. It is only translucent because of grime and a layer of dust coating the glass. She studies the glass for a moment, and realizes it is safe to touch. She cleans off a section of the glass.

Leira recognizes that she is looking down onto Nargrym's Selpucher and his sarcophagus. This chamber was designed to be a viewing room for visitors. But nothing has visited this chamber in a very long time. The sarcophagus has been opened and its lid pushed to the side, offering a glimpse of its occupant: a crumpled corpse dressed in a suit of scale mail armor. While the view is centered on Nargrym’s sarcophagus, Leira notices a large, broken cage in an alcove off to the side.

Leira will find the right or south door to be trapped. The left or north door is not.

To avoid the hard view, she decides to check the doors and soon she is preparing all her instruments "There is a broken cage in the alcove, in case you want to check out while I work in the doors"

Using ranged legerdemain to work at safe distance, the young girl tries to deactivate the right door, then the southern one.
