I've noticed two things:
1. I'm the only character that's not a human.
2. Our GM's main profile picture is of Lirianne, the iconic female half-elf gunslinger, yet the profile info says Male. WHAT ARE YOU!?!?!?!?
Emilio Cross |
@GM: Aren't we all? ;)
This is a question that has crossed my mind more than a few times when it comes to games where you create a character from nothing, especially a PbP.
What, or more precisely, who does your character sound like? If you had a Voice Actor read the lines of your character, who would you choose?
There is no time frame or genre limit. Anyone from any era can do your character's voice.
I'll go first.
Emilio Cross, a half-breed that just learned Common, would sound like Liam Neeson with his scottish accent from 1000 Ways to Die in the West.
Just imagine it, a man that has been Zeus, Ra S'al Ghoul (can't spell), your father in Fallout 3, and Quigon Jin (still can't spell), now imagine him roaring in a bloodthirsty rage, ready to tear you limb from bloody, mangled limb.
Terrifying isn't it?
EDIT: GM! You can answer too! What does the narrator of our game sound like?
Lucky Finn McDonaugh |
I think Finn might be voiced by Robert Downey, Jr ala Tony Stark. Enough snappy rhythm to it to make it fun to listen too, without being to rich or full of timbre. He might aspire to be more of an orator later in his career, but for now, he's still a pitchman, a seller.

Just a heads-up: A little later today I will be going out of town for my nephew's birthday and I won't be able to post again until the morning. I will catch up then, and, my apologies for the inconvenience.

@Allie: I posted this in OOC on the main game thread (not sure if you missed it or you just don't want to say), but I'll post it here as well: What colour is Allie's hair, eyes etc? There really isn't a definitive physical description of her on your profile page, so I thought to ask. Thanks. :) (Visual person, here, so I often ask this question.)
Allie "Cat" Calico |

She looks pretty much like the avatar image. Her eyes are a blue-green hue and her hair is strawberry blonde. She has a compact but feminine figure, busty but not top-heavy.
She is currently wearing an open-topped, long-sleeved blouse with a bodice (Ren-faire cleavage) and a pleated skirt that falls just below the knees. She's wearing soft, doeskin shoes that cut off at the ankle, leaving her legs bare.
Lera Satjian |
@Tru: I noticed that -- so was going by your avatar. :) I'm not sure from Allie's avatar whether her hair is a variant of blonde or white ... so I was hoping to get an answer. ;)
Edit: Thanks for that Allie! Strawberry blonde -- ah. okay. And for the rest. :)

I chose Chaotic Neutral because Allie's a survivor. She's ultimately motivated by self-interest. She is not without compassion, but that compassion has limits.
I would put her moral compass somewhere in the vicinity of Jayne Cobb, Jack Sparrow, and Han Solo (episode IV).

careful Han, you might grow a heart and go to war. Hehe.

I feel like I'm slowing the campaign down a little with how often, or more accurately how little I'm posting.
You guys don't mind, do you?

I think the dynamic between Lera and Allie will be interesting to play out -- Lera too is a survivour but she has a different life and perspective to Allie. Even after some horrible things in her life, Lera still holds onto compassion and goodness and her goals aren't motivated by self-interest. ;) But that certainly doesn't mean she is a goody two shoes. She has a little edge to her. :)

Honestly, I'm posting a bit more than I would normally. I'm enjoing the roleplay, and getting a feel for the characters' personalities.
Slow posting (in my opinion, anyway) is the person who only posts once or twice a week, and everyone has to wait on him or her before we can move on.

GM MatsuKeiji, I made some knowledge checks on the board re Emilio's necklace. Not sure if she is has any (great) knowledge of what it symbolises/represents, but I rolled a few checks in case Lera can give him a little information/direction? I will leave the ball in your court as to how to proceed on it and then I can post some dialogue to Emilio in regard to it. Thanks. :)

Different experiences and influences have shaped them:
Lera had loving supporting parents who were suddenly and brutally taken from her.
Allie never knew her parents. Her earliest memories were of living on the street alone.
I'm curious to see how it plays out, as well.

"I never said where I got this necklace."
He draws his dagger, standing to his full height of 7'. "Tell me what you know about me, or my blade finds a new sheath."
Intimidate: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
Just kidding. But really, I never said where I got the necklace for him.
Lera Satjian |
Sorry, Em. Jumped the gun. Edited my posting to say 'your necklace' instead. Nice intimidate check, btw. ;) I'm sure Lera will want to help you with that kind of attitude. haha. But maybe Lera has the second sight and just doesn't know it ... yet. ;)
Emilio Cross |
"Don't cross me again, human. And don't call me Em."
Emilio puts his dagger back on his belt, eyeing the archaeologist with growing distrust. Will save DC 10 to keep from being terrified. If failed, fort save DC 10 to keep from sh*tting your pants. (jk)
Looking back at it, I think a better voice/accent for him would be Stoick the Vast from How to Train Your Dragon 1 or 2, but maybe a bit younger.
Emilio Cross |
Wait a minute.
I have an intelligence of 10. I'm not a moron! I don't speak like some half-witted brain-dead slug!!
I am smart! So why am I roleplaying an idiot!?
Lera Satjian |
@Emilio: I don't see you playing him as an idiot. Emilio was raised in an orc tribe (and he was a half-breed to boot). The orc culture and their style of communication vs. the human kind would have major differences. So, it makes sense that Emilio would find communicating stilted and difficult, at first, in the presence of humans in a major town. He may become a better/more confident communicator the longer he's with them and develops an understanding of their mannerisms and speech patterns.
@Emilio: Lera and Emilio are on decent terms at the moment, right? Just wasn't sure whether the joking back and forth here in discussion was based on any IC reality ...
Lera Satjian |
I've been searching EVERYWHERE for a cool pic depicting Lera with her scorpion whip. Alas, the only ones I can find are of scantily clad fantasy women with very, very large breasts. Not really in line with Lera's image. ;) Haha.
Lera Satjian |
Well, we do have a brunette and a blonde in the group... so there is that, too. ;) We just need a red-head.
I like the Halfling lass. Nice touch with the Shelyn veneration.
