@GM MatsuKeiji: Have you decided if Ruby will be accompanying our group as a DMPC? I do like Ruby very much. She brings a lightness/sweetness to the group. But I'm sure there are more layers to uncover with his red-haired Halfling lass. :)

Lera Satjian |

TruStrike was just going to show Lera The Old Light from the outside until Bodert Quink comes into the story and Lera makes her request.
We don't have to stay by the ruin, if the group wants to see other things and we have the consecration to go to before dark.

TruStrike |

Finn shrugs and grins at the compliment, his eyes cutting to Lera to see how she responded. "I'm not so sure Miss Lera has much eyes for anythin' that ain't a thousand years old r'more, so maybe she's more got eyes for old TruStrike there, eh?" He winks playfully.
Ha! Ba-Zing

Lera Satjian |

Hmm. I had Lera protecting Ruby ... (unless Ruby has other plans via GM). I don't know how Lera moved away from her companions (going by her current position on the map). Her whip has 15 ft reach so she wouldn't go right up to the nasty lil buggers. She was waiting for them to move up, close enough for her to strike at.

If you need to talk about how to use Google Drive for maps, I am happy to work with you on it. Takes a little effort, but can be done. Since I've run RotRl before, I have all the maps prepped etc should you need/want them.

Emilio Cross |

You guys would not believe me when I tell you why I didn't post yesterday.
There was no internet yesterday on my entire center because we had to replace a modemn. Why? A mouse chewed through some wires. Really.
Still, that awesome second swing more than makes up for it!

Lera Satjian |

A nice treat to sink our teeth into, GM.
The last, recent encounter I had with goblins on the board: we had 15-20 goblins attack us at once and four of them had muskets riding atop wargs. ;) I like that you had 4 with dogslicers. :)

Emilio Cross |

"Nowwwww, no need to go comparing your tool to Emilio's. He's twice your size. He'd split someone wide open with that thing."
At 17 damage I'll bet I did. Care to try it on for size, kitty Cat? ;D

Emilio Cross |

Better than Team Edward or Team Jacob, that's for sure!
That wasn't a dated reference, was it? Would Team Sam or Team Dean work better?

Emilio Cross |

Aww, come on Allie, not even a well placed innuendo? We know you're enjoying this.
If this is getting too in depth, we can stop.

Allie "Cat" Calico |

I thought I did make an innuendo. In fact, I made one about Emilio's injury. ;-)
I just couldn't think of a good one about the singing goblin. I'll try better next time!
I don't know anything about the Winchesters, so I couldn't participate in that exchange.
No worries. If I were easily embarassed, I wouldn't have created the character of Allie in the first place.

Emilio Cross |

I just double checked something, and while it looks good as an out of combat post, you might want to know about this:
It states the following: Deft Palm (Ex): A rogue with this talent can make a Sleight of Hand check to conceal a weapon while holding it in plain sight, even while she is being observed.
Checking the Sleight of Hand skill, we find the following:
When you use this skill under close observation, your skill check is opposed by the observer's Perception check. The observer's success doesn't prevent you from performing the action, just from doing it unnoticed.
So while it was pretty cool to see you have those daggers disappear, you kinda did it wrong.
Just a heads up for later, thought, you'll be so awesome Ezio Audetori will be jealous.

Emilio Cross |

Just a thought, GM, one of my other campaigns with maps has the map link in the mini-info of the campaign.
For this one, that's where you put "Sandpoint needs heroes, be that hero!" Since updates go to the one google doc, that link will always be the most accurate link instead of having to search for one.

Lera Satjian |

Allie has taken the 'cutpurse' archetype.
Under that it says:
Measure the Mark (Ex): When a cutpurse makes a Sleight of Hand check to take something from a creature, the target makes its Perception check before the rogue makes her Sleight of Hand check, and the rogue knows the Perception check result. She can decide whether or not to make the check based on the results of the target’s Perception check. If the rogue elects not to make the check, she can make a Bluff check, opposed by the target’s Sense Motive, to prevent the target from noticing the attempt. -- This is only in relation to her taking something from another.
Deft Palm is a Rogue Talent and isn't listed under suitable rogue talents under the cutpurse archetype. Fast Fingers is, however.
So, I'm unsure why Emilio said Allie did the daggers in the sheaths thing wrong in rp, based on Sleight of Hand. Allie put her daggers back in their secret sheaths -- Lera simply noticed her doing so based on her successful opposing Perception check.

Emilio Cross |

I guess you have a point there.
I was assuming you couldn't perform the action while watched. Kinda makes you wonder why that rogue talent is even included, if you can put your weapons away in the first place, even when being watched.

Lera Satjian |

Reading discussions on the rogue talent: Deft Palm, it seems it allows the rogue to conceal a weapon with Deft Palm without having to actually place the weapon somewhere on their person. This then doesn't force the player to spend an action to draw it...
I have come across some clumsy-written descriptions regarding talents, abilities etc ... It can do your head in trying to interpret it fairly and apply it across the board ...

Lucky Finn McDonaugh |

Sorry for my absence the last few days, I have been packing and moving. Everything arrived yesterday, but my new refrigerator arrived damaged, so I am without one (the new house people took theirs) until Thursday...
I should have more time to spend on posting etc, now that things are beginning to settle down

Emilio Cross |

And that's all the PCs. Just missing Ruby and a resolve from the GM.
If you guys are actually editting the map, I can't do it due to system restrictions.
Could someone move me 30' straight down? I'd be in the same row as Allie.

Lera Satjian |

@Finn: Good luck in finalising the move.
@Emilio: Ruby's taken her turn by starting to sing again to counter the goblin's song and inspire us. It's the goblins' turn now.

Lera Satjian |

Ruby gasped and glared at the goblin wench, her singing was atrocious! So she began to sing once more to counteract the horrid song to boost her own allies.
@Finn: Bless is a morale bonus but Ruby is doing her inspire courage at the moment (you may have missed that on the board at the time of your posting) and that is a morale bonus too. They don't stack, unfortunately. Maybe conserve that spell?
@GM; Thanks for answering the question about the singing goblin. Purple circle it is. :)

Lucky Finn McDonaugh |

Ah, I missed the fact that both were morale bonuses. As such, if the DM will allow, I will withdraw the spell for future use, maybe once the bard's voice's start failing...
Thanks for pointing it out.
EDIT - I guess based on the below, I will keep the Bless in effect then. Can't be too lucky against these frisky goblins.

Lera Satjian |

Okay, looking at the specifics of Inspire Courage:
An affected ally receives a +1 morale bonus on saving throws against charm and fear effects and a +1 competence bonus on attack and weapon damage rolls.
The morale bonus from Inspire Courage only comes into play for saving throws vs. charm and fear and it's a competence bonus to attack and damage.
So in this case, they do stack. Huh. Strange I didn't pick up on the distinction earlier than this. Sorry for that, Finn. So, I suppose we can keep your Bless for attack and damage!
So we get +2 (from Ruby's Inspire and Finn's Bless) on attack and damage rolls and only a +1 for saves against charm and fear effects.
