Of course its OK! Alexandra would appreciate the sentiment. She would be surprised that you know, she will make a note that your hearing is incredible and how cool that is.
In order to keep everyone informed, Alexandra would also tell Harmini and Bambara that Velriana tried to bring her in to the Scorched Hand and trade sites, but not in an outwardly malicious way.
Alexandra Trazaron |
I don’t think Alex would have noticed the irony. She lacks the sense motive to detect it.

Some thoughts on Chui and his “relationship” with the First Servant of the Heavens:
It might make more sense to use the Contacts rules here (Ultimate Campaign, pp. 148-153). This section takes about allowing players to begin with one contact with a trust score of 2-3 (p. 151).
In terms of Chui and his character arc, the whole old Osirion gods and Bastet thing has the potential to become more important down the road. Right now, it’s more in the background of the character rather than the foreground.
There’s an interesting catfolk trait in Blood of Beasts, Adherent of Ancient Osirion Religion (p. 2), which suggests there’s a significant overlap between the Osirion catfolk community and worship of Bastet. Blood of Beasts also notes that the largest concentration of catfolk in the Inner Sea Region is in Osirion (inner cover map and p. 2 again). BoB talks about a “sizeable catfolk population.” Do we have any sense of what this means in terms of Osirion, in general, and Wati, specifically? BoB is more recent, 2016, than the adventure path, 2014, so I assume that this catfolk information isn’t in the AP.
For the time being, Chui thinks it’s neat that there’s cat god with domains such as lust, chaos, and trickery. (“Hey, did they design this god for me?”) He may or may not get more involved with it as we go forward. This will probably depend on how important religious affiliation and identity become in the AP. The whole Scorched Hand and Nethys business hints that this may become more of a thing.

I'd rather not add ANOTHER social mechanic to the game, on top of what we already have, so the contacts things is a no.
From the sound of it, Chui kind of sees it as a novelty, so seeking out the leader of such a group and starting a relationship with him seems at bit unusual. Is Chui curious about the religion and wants to learn more? Does he truly want to worship the gods (or even just Bastet) or is this simply his idea of something cool to be involved with? (Wow! cool I get to !@#$ as my way of venerating a god. And a cat god at that!) These are things I meant by what do you want out of it. Or do you want to start a cult of prostitutes that worship Bastet to compete with the Calistrian's in town?
Let's table this until you know what it is you want to do with this.

Tabling sounds good. Just a bit of an answer to your questions as a way of fleshing out Chui's character. Chui is, in his own way, sincere in his worship of Bastet, so it's not just a novelty. Assuming there are enough followers of Bastet for it to happen, Chui would regularly attend worship services, special events, etc. It's a moderate part of his life, but not something that's very significant or determining of his actions.
I'm going to go ahead and spend 25 gp on a silver holy symbol of Bastet. Here's what it might look like. This is a "Name Cartouche of Goddess Bastet." He would normally wear this on a necklace under shirt, armor, etc.
I'm also going to deduct another 10 gp as an offering/donation to whatever cleric/church might be appropriate. This isn't for formal relationship building or anything like that, just putting Chui's money where his mouth is in terms of religion.

I’m good and ready to start level 3 fun. As a last day thing that I will just do, I am grabbing 3 holy symbols of Nethys, wooden ones. We are going to a temple of her faith, so in real world terms it would be like getting a goy his own kippah if I was going to bring him to temple. Alexandra would ask that you put it on, but would not get mad if you didn’t.
Alexandra Trazaron |
The symbol of Nethys is a mask split down the middle vertically, one side black and one side white. If Harmini doesn’t want to wear it, Alex would still get one in case you changed your mind.
Chui and Bambara can add a wooden holy symbol of Nethys to thier sheet

One more format/set up improvement is now set up. On the campaign page there is a new spoiler titled Non-Player Character Images. Here you can see a visual of what some of the more notable NPCs, including all members of the Scorched Hand and everyone's favorite Div, Imanish. Others will follow shortly and continue to be added as more are encountered.

Very cool! I love Velriana's outfit.
To make sure that there is no confusion, my last gameplay post is not meant to hold up the next section of our campaign. By all means keep going. Maybe Bambara and I could have a nice long chat in character under a spoiler buttons.

I'd rather have all the RP done before continuing. I think it will get a little confusing having action, banter, and ACTUAL RP from previous time going all at the same time. I am okay holding off for a while if you want to do some RP but if it is just banter without actually developing the characters or exchanging information, I think that can be simply accomplished with "the party spends a night bonding as friends".
Until I hear more I am holding off on starting, downtime is more dictated by you guys, so take whatever time you want.
Bambara the Fierce |
my plan is to go around the west side of the ruin I am at. I can take a few hits so the guy on the top isn't a huge concern though chui said that the div is here and I remember that he can mess with my mind. I figure that chui has mr blue and I could probably take mr green down next round if I haven't already.
Alexandra Trazaron |
Dear god Bambara the beast. 67 damage. 67! The rest of the goons are almost certainly going to target you now that they saw you basically cast disintegrate with your hammer, so be careful. Solid hit though.
Chui Nyeusi |
I have an idea but id like input im asking jeremy about the walls of the ruined buildings. My plan is to attack the wall next to bring red guy down to me but im still on the fence with this plan. Groups thoughts are welcome
Seeing this encounter through the lens of Stalingrad, so I'd say that collapsing buildings around the enemy is perfectly acceptable. I can't speak to its practicality. It all depends on hardness and hit points of the wall (8 hardness and 90 hit points for a masonry wall according to the rules).
Talalmackk Chirronna |
I would say that the hardness applies but the HP is probably lower (though still in the 50+ range). And that only applies to a 5 ft section of wall. To bring him down I would say you need to hit two sections and bring them down, before he can move. I'll let you try but those are the rules that would apply to it.

Could I attack the net on Bambara with my acidic ray? What AC would I be looking to hit?
**edit. To clarify, am I looking to hit an AC of 5 since it’s an object, or am I looking at making a sunder attempt?

You certainly can try to hit it. I would say the AC is a 7 (5 + a size modifier, the -2 immobile object won't apply since Bam is moving). As an energy attack, the net will only take half damage but it does not have hardness.
Alexandra Trazaron |
With the damage reduction it isn't a good use of my time to, at best, deal 4 acid damage to the net and still not break it. My AC is now 17, 21 being prone. If these people believe I am the biggest threat, its best to turn into a tank.
Harmini Wakestep |
Would Harmini want to delay until after my turn so we can see if Chui kills the blue guy with a bow shoot while vanished and if there is anymore evidence of where Imanish is? In theory, the building where Chui is located should be fairly defensible.
Harmini really has no good reason to delay her initiative at this point just so Chui can take his turn sooner. Keep in mind that she has no idea where he is at the moment nor did he communicate any sort of tactical strategy with her in character.

Before he vanished, Chui yelled for folks to go to the building to his left.
I'm just a little worried about us getting scattered all over the place and then being picked off one by one.

The way I see it - Upon the failure of Alex's diplomatic efforts, Harmini was the first PC to react tactically to the situation (initiative order) by healing Bam (because he was adjacent to her at the time), shouting "TAKE COVER" then moving quite visibly toward the building to the north (away from the bad guys). It stands to reason that Chui should've followed her lead if he didn't want to split up the group. Instead, you decided to do something else (which is totally fine as long as you're prepared to deal with the consequences of your choices). No one's forcing anyone to do anything here. However, considering Harmini's where the bulk of the healing comes from, I think you should be a little worried about moving too far away from her at your current HP.
Alexandra Trazaron |
Its fine, no one is going to attack Chui anyway. I'm the tank now.
In all seriousness I am going to be making my way toward you, cautiously. Move action stand, convert my standard to a move and withdraw 30 feet, drop prone again. I am drawing their fire while being pretty hard to hit for now, lets use that to our advantage.
Chui Nyeusi |
A few thoughts:
1) The general issue is that we don't have any default plan for ambush situations such as this. Harmini has proposed that whoever has the highest initiative becomes the default leader, which is a fine SOP for the future.
2) In terms of "taking cover," Chui did move to the closest cover which was available given his tanglefoot bag-limited movement. It wasn't clear to me how much cover the ruins would provide, particularly against attackers with a height advantage. I just asked about this over the Gameplay forum.
3) The problem with moving away from our attackers is that Bam and Chui's primary skill is melee, not engaging in an archery duel. I think that fighting at range potentially favors our attackers.
4) We need to communicate better. I appreciate now what Harmini was trying to communicate but "Fall back and take cover" might have been better.
5) I'm still not fully prepared, and I have written BUY UNIVERSAL SOLVENT! underneath my running total of purchases.
6) If we have to burn all our ki points, rage, whatever here; that's fine with me.

So now i have a question just 2 though. Am i out of melee range with red guy so that a sunder attempt wouldnt provoke? He is avove me so im not sure?
He is 10 ft above you, so unless he has reach for some reason he is not in range for an AOO. Also, he does not appear to be armed.
