Idichi Kaburi |

After going through the items. Idichi asks Omor, Are these items ok for us to take with us? I definitely vote for leaving anything that you think would be offensive for us to take. None of the items quite piqued Idichi interests so he immediately turns his attention to the secret locked door. I should be able to unlock this door, but in case the trap is triggered we should all be ready to make a expeditious retreat from rolling boulders or poisonous darts...
Turning to his fellow team members he looks to see if they are prepared for Idichi to attempt to disable the trap.

Omor Al'Jamous |

So, the aura of conjuration is the trap or is there somethign else that is magical? I'm confused about that.
Omor gives his opinion to Idichi and the rest of the team. "We can certainly recover relics and antiquities like the items we found in the crates. That is our charge from the Pharoah. Most of those items have no particular interest to the dearly departed. The Lady's symbol is, of course, an exception and I'd like to use that in my supplications if everybody is fine with that."
Then, getting more solemn and bowing his head slightly, he continues. "What we must be careful of is disturbing or desecrating the remains of the people who are interred here. Do use extreme care when opening a sarcophagus or other grave, either marked or unmarked. Likewise, if we find an unburied body, we should perform rites."
After giving everybody a chance to ask questions, Omor continues. "I am ready to open the door. I presume we should stand back, just to be safe?"

Idichi Kaburi |

Me too Omor. I thought the conjuration was coming from the chests, but now I think it's either coming from the door or from behind the door. I also was thinking that it might be a "boss" behind the door. Kind of why I wanted to give everyone a chance to ready themselves before disarming

Idichi Kaburi |

I'm assuming everyone is ready. If not me unlocking happens after everyone is ready
Idichi takes a deep breath and looks the door over carefully. He takes out his crossbow just in case there's something behind the door that is less than friendly. He the takes out his tools and begins working on the door.
I have to very particular. Magical traps, I've heard, will launch if you even breathe the wrong way around them.
Disable Device: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29

Jabari Gamal |

I guess it's cobra time.
"Well... I suppose we must deal with this iron beast now," says Jabari as he hefts his khopesh. "We have seen everything else there is to see here. Or at least, it is all on your map, so you all have! I will need all the help I can get; it will be very hard to cut this thing up."

Omor Al'Jamous |

Jabari does seem unusually worried about fighting this cobra, thinks Omor. I wonder how we might get an advantage.
"Yes, the iron snake does seem to be the last thing between us and completing our survey of the tomb. Jabari, We do have some treasure already. Would using that to fund some different equipment or weapons make this fight any easier for you? "

Jabari Gamal |

Jabari thinks a moment and then says, "Not that I can think of. It's just that it's going to be very hard to dent, since it's made of metal."
I'm pretty sure this is a DR 5/- construct. The only thing we can do about that is hit it really hard over and over. Since I'm not a barbarian and I don't have Power Attack, this could take a while - a 1d8+3, 25% of my attacks will do nothing.

Idichi Kaburi |

I know I rolled before to identify it. Would I know any of it's weaknesses?
Hmmmm. What about the alchemist's fire that we have? They might heat the cobra up enough to soften the metal and make it easier to strike through.

Omor Al'Jamous |

Digging through all of the things that they found, Omor confirms with Idichi that he is open to the idea. "Yes, we could use both of the bottles of liquid fire we found on the previous explorer. We could toss one or both of them on the cobra from a distance and try to get it burning."
Honestly, it doesn't sound that different between using acid or fire based on the last update from our knowledge checks. That said, Omor will go whatever way the rest of the team wants.

Idichi Kaburi |

Idichi asks Aya, How many do you think we should purchase?
After a few more minutes of thinking Idichi says to the group Aya also had a good idea of wrestling it. Does anyone have a net, rope or bag? If someone has excavation tools we could even make a pit and push it in. We could potentially trap the Iron Cobra while we finish searching the last room. I selfishly wouldn't be opposed to not destroying the construct. I would love a chance to study it outside of the tomb.
I'm also ok with whatever the group chooses.

Daniel Penfold 357 |
To speed things up I am going to say you can go shopping and come back so will assume you have done so. Description of the room again in case it has been lost
A sarcophagus covered in gold leaf rests on a raised stone platform in the centre of this chamber. The casket's cover is carved in the likeness of an adult man with his arms crossed over his chest, and covered in a thick coat of dust. Two ornate chests sit beyond the dais in the northeast and southeast corners and between them stand two large funerary urns.

Jabari Gamal |

Jabari waits at the mouth of the tomb while the team heads back to the market, then returns with the requisite flasks of acid.
"Everyone ready?" he says, shield in one hand, flask in the other. "We all launch our acid at the metal snake at the same time, then I charge it with my khopesh. Yes?"

Daniel Penfold 357 |
With Aya and Idichi's acid the creature stoops moving
[ooc]Loot:
The sarcophagus is covered in gold leaf- if it is scraped off it will be worth 100gp.
A gold funerary mask worth 500gp.
Akhentepi's armour (see specific treasure list)
500gp
coffer worth 50gp
Potion of darkvision
potion of lesser restoration
pendant worth 70gp
assortment of gems worth 55gp

Jabari Gamal |

Jabari rushes up to the cobra, gripping his khopesh at the end of the hilt and preparing for a while swing - then he pauses.
He nudges the metal sheath with his toe, carefully.
He taps it with the khopesh.
"That... was far less difficult than I expected."
Wow. I did not realize that the plan was that good. Did this have fewer hit points than usual?
Finally he looks back over his shoulder and says, "It is no longer moving. I did not even have to strike it. I... uh... will keep watching it, in case it suddenly rears up again. Idichi, Aya, Omor, now is your chance to examine the tomb!"

Aya_Daijaen |

Okay, after we sell these trinkets and such we can split the wealth equally, hows that sound? The armor should go to whoever can best use it. Its enchanted. The potions should be useful so we'll keep those

Omor Al'Jamous |

"Great aim and many thanks all. I do think we were prepared for a significant battle. This is a good omen and speaks to our prowess."
Now that the danger has likely been taken care of, Omor looks around the tomb for other signs of historical or religious significance.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
Knowledge(Religion): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
"Agreed, Aya, we should split whatever we have found in equal shares. Some of the items may be of special interest to the Pharaoh and his priests. We may want to allow them to examine what we have found."
I have go back and re-read the early interactions between when we were given access to the tomb. Not sure if we need to do anything special with the items or if they are just ours.

Daniel Penfold 357 |
I was assuming that the acid bypassed the dr - never mind we'll just go with it
There is nothing here of any religious significance as such - the body has been preserved in the ancient Osirian way.You do not find anything else
You can assume the items are just yours as long as you follow the tomb exploration rules
