Blades did nothing. I wonder if my sling will even though aya's bolt didn't. Dox thought as she holstered her dagger and rapier and brought out her sling.
"Aya, how much room do you need to cast?' Dox asks after she lets loose of her bullet.
Sling(b): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
dmg: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
been along time since i rolled a 20. I roll another d20 to see if i succeed in the crit, right?
crit??: 1d20 ⇒ 12
Donnen Phelps
Donnen stays in crane style and fights defensively, trying to hit the creature with his unarmed strikes.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 Blunting
These halls are too tight! - complains the brawler.
Omor Al'Jamous
"I'm going to try to get clear of the creature!" yells Omor so the rest of the team knows what to expect.
Before backing up, Omor slashes out with his dagger hoping for some good outcome.
Attack with dagger, sacred weapon: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Damage: dagger, sacred weapon: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Then Omor moves back, trying to be as safe as possible.
Standard action to attack, then 5' step. The goal is to try to avoid AOO, but it occurs to me by looking at the map that this creature might be large so Omor is still in attack range.
Doxania
"Aya, if they don't move, just let loose with your fire anyways. We'll heal afterwards...." Dox says, as she fires her sling agian and moves back more.
Sling(b): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
dmg: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
crit??: 1d20 ⇒ 9
Move back more, if i do not open myself up to an AOO... lol at another crit.. lol and of course another fail...
Donnen Phelps
Donnen manages to barely dodge the creature’s attack, then tries to punch it again - still fighting defensively in Crane Style.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
On my cell so I can’t see the map - if there’s space behind Donnen, he will five foot step back
Omor Al'Jamous
&*(%*#@^% I swear I made this post last night before I went to bed. Must have been more tired than I thought.
Omor moves back next to Dox 5' step trying to avoid an AOO and drops his dagger on the ground. free action to drop dagger.
"It looks like you have had more success than I have when you use your sling. " He also draws his sling move action and fires it at the creature. standard action to use sling.
Attack sling: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14
Damage: sling: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Doxania
"Yes, whatever this creature is, it doesn't like our sharp blades. They just pass through it." Dox replies to Omor and asks "Aya, is it clear enough now to use your fire?"
Doxania
"Good job. Now that that's over, shall we continue?" Dox asks, as she heads back into the hall. Just before entering the next room, Dox pauses long enough to check the door for traps. After that, she slowly opens the door, ready for anything that may jump out at her.
traps on door?: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
traps in next room: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26

You do not find any traps on the door or in the room. A tapestry hangs from a frame against the south wall of this large chamber; it depicts an otherworldly vista where the souls of the dead, shepherded by strange beings, enter an ethereal river ambling though space toward a landscape dominated by an impossibly tall spire. Columns sculpted in the shape of Osirian warriors wielding khopeshes stand in all four corners of the room. The floor is tiled in a white spiral pattern on a black background, and this spiral pattern is repeated on the stone double doors to the north, east and west.
Omor Al'Jamous
After the sand creature crumbles to ash, Omor asks the group, "Is everybody OK?" Then, specifically to Donnen "It looks like the creature got a good smack in on you. Do you need any healing?"
Then crossing the stairs and rubble, Omor looks around for the signs of any other creatures or interesting happenings.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
Finally, in the room, Omor exclaims, "Now, this looks like Akhentepi had a good apprecitation of the afterlife! All these spirals must mean that the faimily gives the Lady of Graves her due."
Omor continues to examine the room.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
Doxania
Heading towards the tapestry, "See anything worth taking?" She asks her group as she pulls the tapestry aside.
"Think we should take this tapestry? It may be worth something to someone."
Anything interesting?: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Appraise tapestry: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
If nothing is of interest, she'll head on into the next area. The doors to the west.
Donnen Phelps
@Omor: The creature failed to hit me (my AC is 24 when fighting defensively in crane style)
Thanks, my friend. I'm still standing! - says Donnen, smiling back to Omor.
North, now? - the brawler turns to the entire party, taking point to go through the next door.
Doxania
"North is fine with me. That tapestry would be worth alot. Maybe we should get it on the way out..." Dox mules it over as she heads to the north door to look at the lock on it.
"Now to try to unlock this door."
Take 10?
Omor Al'Jamous
Sorry I missed that, Donnen. When I saw some of the hit rolls, I assumed the worst.
"I think we will have to collect many of these antiquities on the way back to the surface, " says Omor. "I guess that they are safe in the meantime."
Then, as the team decides on direction, "North is fine with me as well."
Daniel Penfold 351
Doxania, manages to unlock the northern door. The centre of this large octagonal room is a raised square platform a few inches above the floor, with a stone pillar at each corner. A gold-trimmed sarcophagus sits in the centre of the platform, flanked by two statues of humanoid beings with canine heads, each of which holds an ankh in one of its crossed arms. Stone double doors exit the room to the north.
Doxania
Doxania stared at the sarcophagus in awe. "It's so pretty. Why can't we get closer?" Dox walks around the room slowly, checking for any traps along the way.
traps in room: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Omor Al'Jamous
Omor looks around the room from the doorway while Dox searches for traps.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
"Aya, based on everything we have seen so far today, the sarcophagus could very well be dangerous. But you don't have to worry about desecrating the dead just by looking at them. As long as we don't cause damage on purpose or exercise due care, we should be fine."
Doxania
"I want to open it. Just to see inside." looking at it closer.
wonder what kind of treasures are inside.... dox though greedily.
"What's up with the statues?" Dox asked of those more knowledgeable than her.
Omor Al'Jamous
"Dox! Wait! Don't touch the sarcophagus!" shouts Omor abruptly, hoping she stops in time.
Assuming he interrupts her in time....
"It seems Akhentepi takes his security seriously. I'm not exactly sure what will happen if we touch the sarcophagus but look at this, " Omor says as he approaches one of the the torch brackets and points to a spot on it. "See how there is a joint here? I think if we turn or move this, it is the key to turning off the trap."
Omor moved up to what I think is one of the brackets but please move the chit if it's not in the right place.
Then to the whole team, "I think we should clear out just to be safe. Do I have to do the honors since I noticed it?" asks Omor.
Donnen Phelps
Go for it, my good priest. - says Donnen, giving space for the others to deal with the trap.
Doxania
Dox jumped as Omor yelled at her, "I wasn't gonna touch it, just wanted a closer look. Pull it, turn it, whatever." She fell back a towards the wall as he did whatever to the bracket.
Omor Al'Jamous
Once the trap deactivates, Omor breathes a sign of relief. "Glad we avoided that fate, whatever it was. That part of the job is stressful. Dox, I didn't realize how calm your nerves must be to deal with traps all the time."
After that, he approaches the golden sarcophagus. "Do you all want to give me a hand in opening it? This is where we need to be careful and respectful of the dead. Try not to drop or break it; we will need to put the top back in place once we have looked inside."
Do we need strength checks or anything to do this?
Donnen Phelps
Now, what in the husky muffins is that?
Donnen moves ahead as soon as his companion is attacked. Madu in hands, the brawler enters his defensive stance while his steps gain speed, and once he reaches the enemy, he unleashes a fast strike.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Damn it, this thing is hard! It's like hitting an object! - he exclaims to the others.
