M Cat Sorcerer 3 / Rogue(UC) 1, HP 28, AC16(FF12,T16), FORT 2, REF 7, WILL 5(6 vs illusions), INIT 4, Perception 9

One of the rogue talents is "ninja trick." You just can't use the ones that require ki points or smoke bombs etc.

There's also a ninja trick "rogue talent." So it goes both ways.

Queer Tiefling (Demon Spawn) Arcane Duelist 4/ HP:29/29, AC:20(T:14, FF:17,+2vs goblinoids) , Fort:3, Ref:8, Will:6, Init:3, Perc:8

I suspected that was the case, but you could spend all day driving into that list. (Zdena is doing similar for Slayer talents) thanks for clarifying

Female Half-elf Rogue (Unchained) 3, HP 26, AC18(FF14,T15,+2vs goblinoids,+1vs traps), FORT 2, REF 7(+1vs traps), WILL 5(+2vs enchantment), INIT 4, Perception 10 (11 vs surprise or traps)

One of the rogue talents is pick a ninja trick (with certain limitations), so I thought it was worth a shot. If not, no worries!

Aaaand JD types faster than I do, shocking literally no one.

F Half-orc Slayer 4, HP 41, AC 17(FF15, T12), FORT 8, REF 7, WILL 3, INIT 2(4 in Forest), Perc 10(12 in Forest)

I picked Camouflage as my first Slayer Talent, though I'm kinda waffling on it. Could be fun in the woods, though. I also grabbed an extra HP for the Favored Class Bonus even though Dave was all "BUT SKILLZ THO". I think everything is properly updated on my page.

F Half-orc Slayer 4, HP 41, AC 17(FF15, T12), FORT 8, REF 7, WILL 3, INIT 2(4 in Forest), Perc 10(12 in Forest)

Terrain Mastery was on my short list too, Ryll.

M Cat Sorcerer 3 / Rogue(UC) 1, HP 28, AC16(FF12,T16), FORT 2, REF 7, WILL 5(6 vs illusions), INIT 4, Perception 9

It's on my short list too, if I eventually take a second level of rogue.

Although I just found this crazy ninja trick Master of Shadows which is kind of amazing.

Yes the ninja tricks are valid with the ninja talent rogue swap. :D Enjoy

Queer Tiefling (Demon Spawn) Arcane Duelist 4/ HP:29/29, AC:20(T:14, FF:17,+2vs goblinoids) , Fort:3, Ref:8, Will:6, Init:3, Perc:8

How obvious is it that the town's herds have scattered and that some of them have wandered into the woods? It makes the most sense for the logistics to gather a herd now in the first map hex. But if we haven't seen any sign of them then we would just move deeper in to get further from the Hobgoblin's. Maybe we should make some Survival checks in the morning?

That's a solid idea, as people who live in Phaendar, you know some herds would be on this side of the River Marideth.

M Cat Sorcerer 3 / Rogue(UC) 1, HP 28, AC16(FF12,T16), FORT 2, REF 7, WILL 5(6 vs illusions), INIT 4, Perception 9

Just to be clear, I set out the numbers on the other thread, and I think that is sort of the "default" plan, but that doesn't mean it has to be our actual plan. For example, we could spend the first day with the villagers to boost their initial yields and morale, especially since the first day everyone will be at a penalty for sleeping without shelter. We could also do something more creative that's not on the list. We have a very odd mix of assets right now.

Queer Tiefling (Demon Spawn) Arcane Duelist 4/ HP:29/29, AC:20(T:14, FF:17,+2vs goblinoids) , Fort:3, Ref:8, Will:6, Init:3, Perc:8

I didn't have a better idea so I just stole yours and put it in gameplay.

M Cat Sorcerer 3 / Rogue(UC) 1, HP 28, AC16(FF12,T16), FORT 2, REF 7, WILL 5(6 vs illusions), INIT 4, Perception 9

Chrios, did you say we can take 20 on spellcraft checks to identify items? There are a couple things left to check over breakfast, just want to see if I should roll those. I would have thought you couldn't take 20, since it's only one try per day.

Queer Tiefling (Demon Spawn) Arcane Duelist 4/ HP:29/29, AC:20(T:14, FF:17,+2vs goblinoids) , Fort:3, Ref:8, Will:6, Init:3, Perc:8

taking 10 and taking 20
Looks like we can't take 20. But could take 10.

Malgrims correct you can only take 10, but that should be enough to cover the items

Also Ryll can take 20 appraise on the items that we don’t have values for yet.

M Cat Sorcerer 3 / Rogue(UC) 1, HP 28, AC16(FF12,T16), FORT 2, REF 7, WILL 5(6 vs illusions), INIT 4, Perception 9

Hmmm, good point. If Sighere gives me guidance, taking 10 is good enough for me on everything left except the DC 21 dust. (There's a DC 16 maple wand, a DC 18 potion, and DC 18 and DC 21 dust left.)

Probably we could also just ask Vane about the dust anyway.

Okay looks good, I’ll update you all in the morning. Now episode 2 of the mandalorian in

Male Human Shaman 4 34hp AC 15/14/13; Fort 3 Ref2 WIll8; init 5, perc 13

sorry, crazy weekend both working and setting up the office. I'll get caught up in the next day. Got to figure out my Hexes

Queer Tiefling (Demon Spawn) Arcane Duelist 4/ HP:29/29, AC:20(T:14, FF:17,+2vs goblinoids) , Fort:3, Ref:8, Will:6, Init:3, Perc:8

I'm working on a watch list and also weapon/armor distribution for the NPC's.
Lirosa and Taidel half elven hunters from the hay loft at the smithy have their own long bows and arrows. Did they have any armor?

Garret Tyndall merchant guard
Avis Thursbey caravan guard and spearwoman extraordinary
Both from the trading post, do they have their own weapons and armor?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

They all have their own gear for themselves as hunters and guards who were sort of 'working' - everyone else is unarmed and unarmored. Great questions!

Queer Tiefling (Demon Spawn) Arcane Duelist 4/ HP:29/29, AC:20(T:14, FF:17,+2vs goblinoids) , Fort:3, Ref:8, Will:6, Init:3, Perc:8

Also Pharus One-Eye, does he have his own gear?
Flemming Bjerregaard big game hunter?

Yes, he does as well. Sorry responding in between zoom meetings

Queer Tiefling (Demon Spawn) Arcane Duelist 4/ HP:29/29, AC:20(T:14, FF:17,+2vs goblinoids) , Fort:3, Ref:8, Will:6, Init:3, Perc:8

I'm assuming that Flemming Bjerregaard (big game hunter) also had their own gear. And the arming of the refugees is done.... In my notebook. Any preference how I put that info here on the site?

Flemming was only armed with a slight buzz... but youll have opporunities to arm him later

Queer Tiefling (Demon Spawn) Arcane Duelist 4/ HP:29/29, AC:20(T:14, FF:17,+2vs goblinoids) , Fort:3, Ref:8, Will:6, Init:3, Perc:8

I've added another tab to the loot tracker. It's the watch list. I divided the night into four watches. Each watch has five people with perception and three that don't, plus a party member. I'll fill in more cells to give them equipment later. I've got it worked out on note cards.

M Cat Sorcerer 3 / Rogue(UC) 1, HP 28, AC16(FF12,T16), FORT 2, REF 7, WILL 5(6 vs illusions), INIT 4, Perception 9

I added Premek to the third watch, with Ryll. We aren't that far away from the point where he can communicate with the other party members, but not yet.

I also added the Perception bonuses for Ryll and Premek in case that is helpful for Chrios to have in one place.

You all are doing a great job with the secondary and tertiary objectives FYI... We'll wait for Ryll and Malgrim to check in again before proceeding with day 2.

Also Gonzo's got work like mad.. so I'll be botting his actions in combat, don't expect a lot from him RP wise at the moment, other than simple answers.. I've got 41 other NPCs to manage as well.. :D

I have added all the NPC's assigned gear to the Watch tab of the loot tracker. We have a Masterwork heavy mace that I would offer to Sighere, and if he takes it then his current light mace could go to one of the refugees. After passing everything out we have 6 longbows with 20 arrows each that I held back to give our hunters replacement arrows as they get used.

We also have a Masterwork Breastplate and Masterwork light steel shield that I held aside for Zdena if she decides she wants them. All other weapons and armor are being used by someone.

Proficiency was based on npc race and class. A couple maybes, GM's call. Only one I push for is Herman Outen as the town butcher should get proficient with hand axe. Many of the refugees are taking a big minus to Hit by using equipment they are not proficient with.

Lets say Sighere will take the masterwork mace... and trade in his light mace.

Damn you all are efficient! that's a lot of damage without using a melee weapon... We'll see if Zdena puts the swarm down with her alchemist fire...

Ok Malgrim, so I'll give you the butcher has proficiency with the hand axe - easy. With the light mace in circulation that's another simple weapon. The NPCs aren't meant to do amazing things in combat, but provide RP/support roles for now.

You will get to level them as you go, depending on what else you achieve as a group. Almost like little side quest type things :D

Queer Tiefling (Demon Spawn) Arcane Duelist 4/ HP:29/29, AC:20(T:14, FF:17,+2vs goblinoids) , Fort:3, Ref:8, Will:6, Init:3, Perc:8

Cool, I just wanted then to not be totally defenceless if the camp gets attaked. Zdena pointed out to me that our town drunk Florantin is a carpenter. He might be able to make some clubs for us. Then more of the townsfolk would have something they are proficient with. And we'd get to sell the longsword to help fund the refugees.

Yep- you can detail basically anyone to do anything. The list isn't meant to be comprehensive, and in a few days you could have Kinig and Florantin churn out clubs for everyone who isn't longsword proficient. Since those have no real cost, we can figure it'd be 10/day he'd produce, with Kinig that'd be about 20/day. That would put you back into longswords being loot until you are able to convert some commoners to other classes.

Her +1 initiative bonus is nice if the camp gets attacked though!

I'm fine with adjusting the resource management aspect of the campaign - it could get a little clunky, but we've been managing it okay thus far I feel.

Male Human Shaman 4 34hp AC 15/14/13; Fort 3 Ref2 WIll8; init 5, perc 13

hey guys, apologies. Brain took a bit of a shock going from unemployed for 7 months to working 50+ hours (which has included a couple days a week on the road), and I fell a little behind on some other things. Job is going great though, and I'm settling into a routine (the dining room is now my office). So trying to catch up with this today and start participating again. I'll be home all week this week so it'll hopefully be easier. Thanks for you patience.

cool bro welcome back. FYI we used three of your alchemist's fires and got you a MW heavy mace. :D

F Half-orc Slayer 4, HP 41, AC 17(FF15, T12), FORT 8, REF 7, WILL 3, INIT 2(4 in Forest), Perc 10(12 in Forest)

Welcome back! Glad the job is going well even if the adjustment period was rough.

Queer Tiefling (Demon Spawn) Arcane Duelist 4/ HP:29/29, AC:20(T:14, FF:17,+2vs goblinoids) , Fort:3, Ref:8, Will:6, Init:3, Perc:8

Looking through my gear I remembered why I have a mule. I can't carry all my stuff. I had intended to have Serendipity come with us to carry stuff like my tent and camping gear. It's why I made sure to buy Feed as well as rations at character creation.

Male Human Shaman 4 34hp AC 15/14/13; Fort 3 Ref2 WIll8; init 5, perc 13

Sorry guys, was in the field all day up in NH (at Rob's old high school actually) Didn't mean to make you guys have to jump through all the translating hoops.

Female Half-elf Rogue (Unchained) 3, HP 26, AC18(FF14,T15,+2vs goblinoids,+1vs traps), FORT 2, REF 7(+1vs traps), WILL 5(+2vs enchantment), INIT 4, Perception 10 (11 vs surprise or traps)

No worries. Hope everything went well! At least it was nice out.

M Cat Sorcerer 3 / Rogue(UC) 1, HP 28, AC16(FF12,T16), FORT 2, REF 7, WILL 5(6 vs illusions), INIT 4, Perception 9

It happens. On Wednesday I was in NY myself.

It just provided the opportunity for a little game of telephone. If anyone thinks what the Leshys said came out the same after being translated by Premek from Sylvan into Cat, and by Ryll from Cat into Common....

On the other hand, right now Sighere should be able to understand Premek, so there's that.

F Half-orc Slayer 4, HP 41, AC 17(FF15, T12), FORT 8, REF 7, WILL 3, INIT 2(4 in Forest), Perc 10(12 in Forest)

Hey GM Chrios it looks like you put 12 damage on the monster, but that was a 12 to hit, which I assumed misses. I should've rolled damage anyway probably, but I forgot in my continued disappointment in Zdena's bow skills.

Oooops. No a 12 hits roll damage!

Hmmm, ok, as I see it...

Warrior is the only class that will make her better at fighting (at this level). She could pick up Handle Animal skill (not really needed though, we have a lot of that). She'd only add 3 skill ranks, probably Survival, Perception, and Stealth.

Expert would let her add 7 skill ranks for more skill diversity, and all of them could become class skills. Same three skills as above, maybe add knowledge nature, plus three more on top of those (a craft?).

Adept would be 3 skill ranks, but she'd be able to cast two 1st level clerical spells per day (plus three 0-level spells). Builds on her faith and could change her role. Might allocate one or two of those skill ranks to something else (knowledge nature?).

Aristocrat... 5 skill ranks... I don't really see any reason to pick this. The advantage is it comes with more class skills, but not enough ranks to actually buy them all. Same saves and hit points. Since Expert lets you pick your own class skills (10 of them), and she already has some from Warrior, I think Expert is better.

So, Warrior is the best fighting choice, that has clear value. Adept adds something different, we only have 3 NPCs with clerical magic (including Rhyna at level 2) and could push her to more of a leadership role (although to some extent that's possible with Warrior too). Expert would diversify her skills.

Male Human Shaman 4 34hp AC 15/14/13; Fort 3 Ref2 WIll8; init 5, perc 13

I like the idea of warrior, just to add the defense to the main camp when we are not there if we start ranging several days a field.

F Half-orc Slayer 4, HP 41, AC 17(FF15, T12), FORT 8, REF 7, WILL 3, INIT 2(4 in Forest), Perc 10(12 in Forest)

I'm fine with Warrior or Adept. Expert doesn't seem to make as much sense for her.

Queer Tiefling (Demon Spawn) Arcane Duelist 4/ HP:29/29, AC:20(T:14, FF:17,+2vs goblinoids) , Fort:3, Ref:8, Will:6, Init:3, Perc:8

I'm leaning towards Adept, since it builds upon her faith and character RP. But I like a second level of warrior as well.

M Cat Sorcerer 3 / Rogue(UC) 1, HP 28, AC16(FF12,T16), FORT 2, REF 7, WILL 5(6 vs illusions), INIT 4, Perception 9

Yeah, expert feels a little random, and I'm not sure what problem it would solve. We can handle diversity of skills by having a lot of people.

Warrior keeps her in her lane, but she's pretty good at that, especially archery. She already has a feat for it. And we don't really have an NPC who can take charge of the defense. I lean towards warrior.

Adept is a nice narrative though, I would not object.

OKay so we're between Warrior and Adept - we'll see what Ryll has to say on the subject! :D

F Half-orc Slayer 4, HP 41, AC 17(FF15, T12), FORT 8, REF 7, WILL 3, INIT 2(4 in Forest), Perc 10(12 in Forest)

Merry Christmas everyone, and wishes for actually seeing you all next year
