This is for any OOC conversation, questions, or anything :D

Once loot has been picked up, I'll be adding a loot tracker thread. Please feel free to drop an avatar picture on the Dramatis Personae link so we can use that for maps and having a repository for images for the campaign.

I've also included a link for languages, if you are speaking in a language other than Common, feel free to use Google Translate, copy & paste it in chat, and then put the translation behind a spoiler for people to read.

I'm excited to get this show on the road with all of you! As I said, I'm excited to merge all these stories together into an interesting and fun campaign with a group of great players.

I'm here!

F Half-orc Slayer 4, HP 41, AC 17(FF15, T12), FORT 8, REF 7, WILL 3, INIT 2(4 in Forest), Perc 10(12 in Forest)

I'm kinda amused that the only language I speak besides Common has a blank next to it.

I hope I didn't jump the gun too badly by just immediately posting to gameplay?

Awesome, that's perfect! I set the intro as very open for you all to sandbox explore town, RP, or whatever. If its got a blank next to the language, you get to set what it corresponds to then! :D

M Cat Sorcerer 3 / Rogue(UC) 1, HP 28, AC16(FF12,T16), FORT 2, REF 7, WILL 5(6 vs illusions), INIT 4, Perception 9

Probably not relevant for me, but where is that list of languages you're referring to?

F Half-orc Slayer 4, HP 41, AC 17(FF15, T12), FORT 8, REF 7, WILL 3, INIT 2(4 in Forest), Perc 10(12 in Forest)

Hmm... Maybe Polish?

Czy to ma odpowiedni klimat dla Orków?

Orcish:
Does this have the right vibe for Orcish?

Its the language guide at the top of the screen or Here

Zdena: yeah that works for me, update the document! :D

Queer Tiefling (Demon Spawn) Arcane Duelist 4/ HP:29/29, AC:20(T:14, FF:17,+2vs goblinoids) , Fort:3, Ref:8, Will:6, Init:3, Perc:8

Hello everyone.

Welcome!

So once we've had a few more introductory posts and people interacting with the town in the gameplay thread, I'll advance the story! :D

Some options: Sandbox exploration of the town, shopping, RP, something else I haven't thought of :D

Male Human Shaman 4 34hp AC 15/14/13; Fort 3 Ref2 WIll8; init 5, perc 13

Sorry I'm slow this week. Job interview tomorrow I've been scrambling to prep for, but I am here.

Oooooo jobbby job! Good luck

Queer Tiefling (Demon Spawn) Arcane Duelist 4/ HP:29/29, AC:20(T:14, FF:17,+2vs goblinoids) , Fort:3, Ref:8, Will:6, Init:3, Perc:8

Yay job interview! Good luck!!

Game question, how does dice rolling work here?

Look below where it says how to format your text

Or type [ dice = Diplomacy ]

1 d 20

+ 5

[ / D i c e ]

Without all the funny spaces

Hi all, if you can make sure your relevant stats and skills (AC, saves, skills, etc) into your profiles so I can quickly see those that'd be awesome

Thanks! :D

I'll just copy Erin's format since it looks like she knows what she is doing... :)

I mostly copied someone else who looked like they knew what they were doing :-P

Thanks, its helpful for me to do things like passive perception checks, initiative checks, and the like

F Half-orc Slayer 4, HP 41, AC 17(FF15, T12), FORT 8, REF 7, WILL 3, INIT 2(4 in Forest), Perc 10(12 in Forest)

And our first dice roll of the game is a 2, folks *facepalm*

Way to go RNG! *You are pretty sure your grandmother is pulling your leg... let's see waht happens :D* - kidding.

M Cat Sorcerer 3 / Rogue(UC) 1, HP 28, AC16(FF12,T16), FORT 2, REF 7, WILL 5(6 vs illusions), INIT 4, Perception 9

I rolled a 10 personally. I figured I could hear that. :)

Also if anyone wants me to input their characters into Hero lab I can, just let me know. It'll help check math and stuff for you! Sadly I'm working on someone else's account so I don't have room for other folks to get it.

M Cat Sorcerer 3 / Rogue(UC) 1, HP 28, AC16(FF12,T16), FORT 2, REF 7, WILL 5(6 vs illusions), INIT 4, Perception 9

Incidentally, my history in my profile is basically things any local could know, aside from the (spoilered) last paragraph, so feel free to read.

M Cat Sorcerer 3 / Rogue(UC) 1, HP 28, AC16(FF12,T16), FORT 2, REF 7, WILL 5(6 vs illusions), INIT 4, Perception 9

Also, that is some crazy first round rolling. Your 2 is fully redeemed!

F Half-orc Slayer 4, HP 41, AC 17(FF15, T12), FORT 8, REF 7, WILL 3, INIT 2(4 in Forest), Perc 10(12 in Forest)

Yeah, that is... kind of a stupid amount of damage for a first level character to dish out.

umm wow... you even forget your extra damage on the confirm damage...

Which begs a question, do you want to do standard crits, or use a crit effect generator instead? I've fine with either, the crits effects can be fun. Malgrim's played with them before I know that, but we'll go with the group consensus on them.

F Half-orc Slayer 4, HP 41, AC 17(FF15, T12), FORT 8, REF 7, WILL 3, INIT 2(4 in Forest), Perc 10(12 in Forest)

Malgrim says I probably shouldn't have added the +4 for prone myself, just let you worry about it. Will do that in the future.

He also said that just the dice double on a crit, so I left out the pluses on purpose. If there should be another +9 in there we are really getting ludicrous.

I'm probably going to be getting a lot of crits with the threat range on this thing. I'm willing to play with a fun effect generator, but I don't really feel strongly about it.

The bonus to the dice doubles, so your strength and power attack would double, but a sneak attack wouldn't double :D

M Cat Sorcerer 3 / Rogue(UC) 1, HP 28, AC16(FF12,T16), FORT 2, REF 7, WILL 5(6 vs illusions), INIT 4, Perception 9

I don't really know the system well enough to have a preference either way, personally. But I suppose I normally play in a system with more detailed crits....

so the online crit generator is here feel free to play with it and see what you think... It also has a crit fumble chart, which can get hilarious pretty quickly.

So for example: Zdena's crit on the downed hobgoblin could have looked like:

Brow Cut
Normal damage and 1d4 bleed. Target blinded while bleeding.

rather than just doing 33 damage to the hobgoblin.

M Cat Sorcerer 3 / Rogue(UC) 1, HP 28, AC16(FF12,T16), FORT 2, REF 7, WILL 5(6 vs illusions), INIT 4, Perception 9

The fumbles seem extremely vicious. The crits, too, but that's more expected.

F Half-orc Slayer 4, HP 41, AC 17(FF15, T12), FORT 8, REF 7, WILL 3, INIT 2(4 in Forest), Perc 10(12 in Forest)

Yeah, I'm not crazy about them having seen them. I'd just as soon do normal crits.

F Half-orc Slayer 4, HP 41, AC 17(FF15, T12), FORT 8, REF 7, WILL 3, INIT 2(4 in Forest), Perc 10(12 in Forest)

Premek, I think you jumped the gun there. We only just finished round one, and Malgrim acts first in round 2.

M Cat Sorcerer 3 / Rogue(UC) 1, HP 28, AC16(FF12,T16), FORT 2, REF 7, WILL 5(6 vs illusions), INIT 4, Perception 9

I took this:

Quote:
The Hobgoblin is unable to Act, the party is up again, Malgrim may act twice before the hobgoblin can act again.

As meaning all of us can go ahead and act (and Malgrim twice).

If the intent is that players only post actions in initiative order, that's fine, I just read it as "everyone go" for the sake of saving time.

F Half-orc Slayer 4, HP 41, AC 17(FF15, T12), FORT 8, REF 7, WILL 3, INIT 2(4 in Forest), Perc 10(12 in Forest)

Oh, I see. Yeah, I think you interpreted that correctly and I just assumed we were keeping the initiative blocks from last time and glossed over "the *party* is up again".

F Half-orc Slayer 4, HP 41, AC 17(FF15, T12), FORT 8, REF 7, WILL 3, INIT 2(4 in Forest), Perc 10(12 in Forest)

I'm really better built for a two handed weapon like my falchion, but uh... someone really needs to take that, narratively speaking.

M Cat Sorcerer 3 / Rogue(UC) 1, HP 28, AC16(FF12,T16), FORT 2, REF 7, WILL 5(6 vs illusions), INIT 4, Perception 9

*finger on nose*

It's a bit heavy for Ryll, too.

Queer Tiefling (Demon Spawn) Arcane Duelist 4/ HP:29/29, AC:20(T:14, FF:17,+2vs goblinoids) , Fort:3, Ref:8, Will:6, Init:3, Perc:8

Rolls a 1...I swear I'm good at this stuff

So, I'm a bit new to this style of play. Should we all assume that we notice the bouncing red light by the kitchen door? Is this something we should wait for our GM to let us know that we've seen it?

You can always notice your party's actions - keeps things going smoothly. :D

I've added a loot tracker to the top links, there are a couple things which will take skill checks to understand in the campaign thread. Anyone appropriate can roll them and see what's hidden. Allow that to stimulate RP, and we won't move forward until the party establishes a plan of action. :D

How wide are you applying spellcraft? Can we use it to shape the flavor / appearance of a spell, but not the effect? For example, can I make my Obscuring mist appear as smoke and function the same?

Yeah that’s cool for sure!

F Half-orc Slayer 4, HP 41, AC 17(FF15, T12), FORT 8, REF 7, WILL 3, INIT 2(4 in Forest), Perc 10(12 in Forest)

Zdena definitely just wants to go swat that guy, but Ryll got a bit shut out of the last combat, so I'll let her initiate if she wants. I'm okay at stealth if that's how you want to do it.

Is there actually space for more than one of us to engage? It looks pretty cramped on the map.

three could melee him, and then any others would be at range... Its narrow, but not completely obstructed to fight there.

M Cat Sorcerer 3 / Rogue(UC) 1, HP 28, AC16(FF12,T16), FORT 2, REF 7, WILL 5(6 vs illusions), INIT 4, Perception 9

I don't see much point in stealth here, if you get a surprise round already. The distance is short enough Ryll could get there and sneak attack in the surprise round without the need for stealth if I understand Pathfinder correctly (in fairness I am figuring this stuff out as we go).

And if there's room for two, she could do that coming in right behind you, the hobgoblin would still be flatfooted I think?

Although, I suppose stealth would serve a purpose if there is an additional hobgoblin just outside the broken door. Not to make you paranoid or anything.

that is correct, sort of. In a surprise round you can get a single standard action, so move, attack, shoot. To sneak up to the opponent would take a stealth roll, then the surprise round is all the attacks to which he cannot respond. Anyone is flat-footed until they act, which depending on his initiative could make it more or less interesting.

Basically if Ryll and Zdena sneak up to him and both hit his flat footed AC in surprise, he's basically dead. But that's where dice come in handy!

M Cat Sorcerer 3 / Rogue(UC) 1, HP 28, AC16(FF12,T16), FORT 2, REF 7, WILL 5(6 vs illusions), INIT 4, Perception 9

In a surprise round you get a single standard action which could be used to move OR to attack but not both?

So if they don't sneak, the movement takes up the surprise round, and he may not actually be surprised when they attack in the following round (if he wins initiative)?

Just making sure I understand correctly.
