Quain |
What was the intimidation roll for, too be clear? Are you trying to force us to act friendly towards you enough to do what you say? I'm just making sure you aren't going for the shaken option.
Quain is not trying to make any friends but to sort of "encourage" people to act. The roll should have no mechanical effect axcept convince people that's what he will do."
Justified* |
To Menas, Justified and Emilain: "Menas, take my place [O5], I'll stand there [P5] and Justified can stand there [N4] and Emilian just behind us. Let's see what the others do."
Justified moves quickly to the square directed by Qauin. A good plan Quain. If we fight together, we just might win this.
Then to the anti-Paladin: There is a place for your lance here beside me Cirnos. Let us strike this common foe as one.
Where do my hit points stand at the moment?
Haterivet |
Similar to previous ordeals, Haterivet studies his surroundings closely. He takes an interest into preparations of the group, watching who is doing what and listening to what some of them have to say. Then without a word, or any show of emotion which would signify that he has taken to knowledge Quain's threat, he moves forward. Reaching position close to the left side wall, some 20' in front of the group, he stops with wall at his back. Feeling quite a bit exposed, he says to himself:Risky Hat, quite risky...and yet it just might work
Haterivet moves to E10 and assumes ready position (might be subject to Edit based on response from GM)
Perception check 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Cirnos Duval |
Flexing his muscles at his new found strength, and marveling at his wounds disappearing. He emerges with a grin, looking around and seeing the lack of the 'sniper' makes a small *tsk*.
"And what of after? To be torn apart by your allies? Only five of us can leave this place, we all know this. You speak of 'working together', 'saving each other' and allies. Yet you have the blood thirstiest of us all among your number. Nor have you taken any risk on yourselves to save others. Only her and myself have ventured to save more than their own skin!!" Pointing to the tiefling priestess.
"Look around you prisoners!" Sweeping his arms to encompass the arena, " We are killers, convicts, heretics but not heroes! If you are looking for more than a onetime ally to stab you in the back, then make an oath as the orc has! But do it in front of all, by those you hold dearest in your souls, and may the gods themselves strike you down if you break it! I will not place my fate in the hands of a few words spoken in fear of death!"
Leaning his lance against him, he crosses his arms, "I have already made my offer, I only wait for another to take it. I know where I stand, and make no means to hide it, seeking only others that will do the same."
Justified* |
Justified shrugs and addresses Quain. He does not want to fight as a team in a team fight? Seems like the lawful tyrant thing to do to me. Justified stands "ready" for the gate to open, hoping that enough of the group fights together to not fail this challenge completely.
Justified takes the ready action to attack a foe it it closes to within his reach.
Menas Kriger |
"What oath would you have Cirnos? I think i have acted with honour through these trials, after all i put down the human hunter that would have happily killed us all when you simply turned on those you thought were weak and failed your "team" at every step..."
Menas readies his equipment and takes his position. With one last scornful look at the Tyrant, he spits on the floor at Cirnos feet and hisses "Weak!" through gritted teeth.
move to O5 and take full defense, i will either assist Quain on an intimidate against our new foe or will attempt an intimidate of my own once the portcullis opens.
DM_Slaughter |
Players, congrats on reaching this far. I will assume you know the Pathfinder rules with regard to cover, skills, combat, actions, etc. If you don't, you should not be playing this PbP. There will be no more excuses or second chances. This trial and the next are combat so there will be no mercy, from me in this one or from your fellow players in the next. Just be aware. Also there is a map, use it for your actions to tell me where exactly you move. If you don't post a square destination when it is your turn, I will assume you do not move, even if you make an attack roll. I will disregard it. I will not be chasing after you asking you where you move or to specify the square. I'm making that very clear so you all know ahead of time. Anyone not clear or have questions, ask them now.
DM_Slaughter |
The portcullis opens and there stands an almost 7' tall, monstrosity of a creature, with white fur that looks like a cross between a wolf and a man. He is garbed in chain mail, wielding a loaded light crossbow in his hands, and you can see strapped on his back is a falchion.
Voice: "For this trial, should the prisoners survive, the top 3 damage dealers still alive on the prisoners' side will receive their choice of rewards between Lucimar's armor, crossbow, or falchion. Assuming they win." The crowd boos at the notion!
Lucimar sees the 10 prisoners and smiles, especially at the notion that they will win. He walks in methodically, wary of your attacks, as the crowd cheers, almost deafening and Lucimar acknowledges them with a wave!
Emilian's readied action with his sling goes off before initiative.
Initiative:
Lucimar: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Cirnos: 1d20 ⇒ 3
Emilian 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Gaza 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Haterivet 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Justified: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Kor: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Kwin: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Menas: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Morgthar: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Quain: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Initiative Order:
Kor
Quain
Justified
Emilian
Kwin
Lucimar
Morgthar
Haterivet
Gaza
Menas
Cirnos
Good luck and don't forget square coordinates for your moves!
Kor Tiger-Spirit |
"Do you wish to advance or hold, Gaza? Either way, stay behind me."
Kor will take no other action than total defence. He will declare his dodge bonus against Lucimar. AC total = 19. Friendly reminder: Kor has the deflect arrows feat. I don't know if he can use that to protect Gaza as well, but he will if it is allowed.
Gaza |
Gaza will move to L4 (would be simo to everyone else moving over there if allowed), and to Kor "Let's stick with these guys for now and work together to take down this gnoll/wolf thing, we can whittle away everyone else afterwards so watch how they fight."
Gaza pulls out the dart.
Gaza takes the total defense (ac+4 = 17).
edit; my movement assumes that Kor moves with me.
Kwin Avassar |
Kwin starts to move along with Gaza. Then, seeing some of the others move forward, he tells her I'm going to see if I can help bring that thing down. Remember, five of us can survive this without having to fall on to each other.
First move to L3, second move to M7.

Total defense is a standard action; move is a move action; taking out dart when you don't have +1 BAB is move action. Can't do all these in one round. Pick the standard and one move action.

Lucimar's Turn:
The wolf warrior scans the field and sees the troupe of powerful warriors with reach weapons coming from his left side. He smiles, brings his crossbow to eye level and points it at the group and carefully measures a shot and fires! The bolt flies true and hits Emilian in the neck, spraying blood on Quain and Justified, dropping the warrior in one shot! Lucimar yells out, "That's how you do it, stupid human! Not with a rock!" The crowd goes crazy cheering! Lucimar then moves up to F20.
Crossbow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 8
Emilian: -5/12
Voice: "Now it's 9 versus 1!"
Morgthar, Haterivet, Gaza, Kor, Menas, and Cirnos are up to finish Round 1.
Haterivet |
Casting one last quick glance to the rest of the group, Haterivet frowns, and then starts to run. While his legs are pumping on the stone floor, distance to Lucimar closing fast, his mind is at ease.
Great choice, you idiot. For whom are you doing this? For the slowest and shallowest group of challengers this arena has ever seen?!? You know that this will pick you apart. You know that they will not raise even an eyebrow when your blood colours the stone, and they will yet curse you if they slip on your spilled entrails, you know that you're just playing into them - only 5 can leave...but if anyone is to leave, this has to die first
And with what might seem like a small smile to a careful observer, Haterivet attacks!
Charge Lucimar, my position F19
Unarmed attack 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Quain |
Sensing that it was the time, Quain suddenly pushes out from the wall and rushes towards the half-wolf. His guisarme is held high as if to strike the heavies possible blow. When he reaches the correct distance, he plants on of his fett to the ground and spins his weapon to Lucindar's legs, trying to sweep him off his feet.
Charge to H19 plus trip attack instead of the melee attack.
1d20 + 4 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 4 + 2 + 2 = 21
Menas Kriger |
unless DM askes you to post or repost could we try to stick to the initiative order, with this many posters it can get confusing who's action it is. I'd rather wait another hour to post than have some glaring mistake due to out of order posting.

Round 2 Initiative Order:
Quain
Justified
Emilian
Kwin
Lucimar
Morgthar
Haterivet
Gaza
Kor
Menas
Cirnos
Haterivet charges the opponent but his blow is clumsy and leaves himself exposed (-2 AC due to charge). Quain rushes up and sticks his guisarme between Lucimar's legs and with his great strength brings the champion down to the ground, causing the crowd to "Ooooooh!" at the Oread's bold maneuver (-2 AC due to charge and Lucimar is prone).
Justified, Emilian's stabilization roll, and Kwin are up.
Justified* |
Justified charges in and attacks Lucimar with his glaive.
He would like to charge to H21 if the charge lane is clear to that space. Otherwise he will charge to H19.
Atack is +2 for charge. 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 131d10 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Is that another +4 due to Prone or does the 4 come off the AC?
DM_Slaughter |
H18 is actually the clearest path since Quain is in H19. And the +4 for prone, you can add to future attacks, making this attack a 17.
Justified rushes up to take advantage of the downed champion and strikes with his glaive, but Lucimar's chain mail protects him from damage.
Emilian's stabilization and Kwin.
