Chez, all new characters will be 3rd level to match the other players (who will be 3rd at end of this fight). Just your WBL will be adjusted to match the other players in group so don't go by what's in the PRD. I'll let you know that amount later.

Max hps at 1st level, half HD+1 each level or you risk it and take my roll (that way you can't preview it).

I was reviewing my character and I noted that I have taken half hp+1 for my past levels.. as per this post.

Whenever there is an option for fixed hit points I always take it.

Could you please confirm your level-up hp rule. I would much rather take average than risk it on your die roll :)

HP 28/28, AC 20/14/16, F +5 R +5 W +7, Init +6, Per +9

Actually noticed the same thing about Baolo. Since I've already rolled this time, I won't switch, but I'll go back to the half hp+1 for future levels.

Male Orc!!!! Level 18 Orc King

On a side note, is anyone planning to go to GenCon this year?

I have a room booked at the Marriott right across from the convention center, and I am looking for someone to share it with. It has 2 queen size beds. Although I don't spend any time in the room, other than about 7 hours for sleeping, I really do like the convenience of having it right next to the convention center. The room costs me $200 a night, and I will be there from Wednesday to Sunday. If anyone is interested in staying in the room for $100 per night, please let me know. Thanks.

HP 28/28, AC 20/14/16, F +5 R +5 W +7, Init +6, Per +9

I'll be there, but I suspect I won't be solo. I'll let you know though if that changes.

I guess I've alternated between rolling and taking 1/2HD+1, but from now on the rule will be rolling. Sorry, it makes for more exciting play IMO. No playing it safe here.
1d8 ⇒ 2 for Baolo
1d10 ⇒ 5 for Gruug

HP 28/28, AC 20/14/16, F +5 R +5 W +7, Init +6, Per +9

Ha, alrighty then. All gambling all the time moving forward! 2 it is. New total hp will be 28 so I'll be at 27/28. Will update profile next.

HP 36/40; AC 21 (23 vs evil) /14/17; F +7, R +4, W +4; Init +3; Per +1; Channel 2/3; Fighter 3, Cleric 1

Okay I got Gruug all updated. Please subtract 1 more charge from the CLW wand.

Need to update map. Bogged down by work but I will update tomorrow without a doubt!

HP 36/40; AC 21 (23 vs evil) /14/17; F +7, R +4, W +4; Init +3; Per +1; Channel 2/3; Fighter 3, Cleric 1

I am on vacation from tomorrow until the following Saturday. Please NPC Gruug until my return. Basically, he just follows Ialda. He uses his falcion first now, as he thinks the scimitar might be cursed.

Out of the snow and off to Mexico for me :)

Mexico?! Sweet!

I have not abandoned you, just the ebbs and flow of work. Will update very soon!

Still here, just had problems with my PC. Bought a new one yesterday so hopefully no more issues from now own. Please hang in there!

I'll be out of town Thurs through the extended weekend, so feel free to keep things moving if Aeronniell is quiet.

Updated the old Loot Thread

HP: 45/45 (49/49 raging), AC 16/16/15; F +6, R+2, W+4 Init. +1; Perception +10

Wow, a ton of good stuff!

I think Ialda should probably take the magic greatclub. She will kick her +1 rapier into the kitty, as she isn't capable of two handing with that. She could also use the wand of Mage armor, as she continues to prefer using that rather than actual armor.

The Ring of Protection and the Belt of Giant Strength would be good for any of the melee people, so we can talk about who gets what after everything else gets divvyed up, IMHO.

HP 28/28, AC 20/14/16, F +5 R +5 W +7, Init +6, Per +9

Hop on over to the Loot thread. Gruug and I have posted a few thoughts there and I reposted Ialda's thoughts.

HP 28/28, AC 20/14/16, F +5 R +5 W +7, Init +6, Per +9

Left-Ear, think you can wander over to the loot thread or just post here with anything you want. I think we almost have it worked out. Then we can work out purchases and next steps with Lavinia in parallel.

HP 21/35, AC 17/12/15, F +3 R +6 W +5, Init +4, Per +4, Bardic Performance Left: 19/20, Spells Left: L1(4), L2(2)

Sorry, I came down with a fever over the weekend and this is the first day I've been vertical for longer than a few minutes at a time. I'm just now getting caught back up on everything.

HP 36/40; AC 21 (23 vs evil) /14/17; F +7, R +4, W +4; Init +3; Per +1; Channel 2/3; Fighter 3, Cleric 1

GM, do we have a chance to buy and sell items?

HP 36/40; AC 21 (23 vs evil) /14/17; F +7, R +4, W +4; Init +3; Per +1; Channel 2/3; Fighter 3, Cleric 1

Something that worked good for a party I was recently in, was where each player bought a wand of CLW. They would keep the wand holstered/tied to their belt at all times. This allowed for quick and easy healing... even if they were unconscious.

Gruug wrote:

Yes, you sure do.

HP 36/40; AC 21 (23 vs evil) /14/17; F +7, R +4, W +4; Init +3; Per +1; Channel 2/3; Fighter 3, Cleric 1

Gruug's Transactions:

Sold MW Falchion: 182.5 gp
Sold Cold Iron Scimitar: 15 gp
Bought +1 Cold Iron Falchion: 2450 gp
Bought Wand of Cure Light Wounds: 750 gp

Total cost: 3002.5 gp

In game terms, you have a week off to relax, heal, sell and buy items and and spend gold. Or anything else that catches your fancy.

HP: 45/45 (49/49 raging), AC 16/16/15; F +6, R+2, W+4 Init. +1; Perception +10

I need until the weekend to get everything finalized. Work is slowly killing me, lol.

HP 28/28, AC 20/14/16, F +5 R +5 W +7, Init +6, Per +9

I'm pretty close to set. Just upgrading
Add +1 enchantment to masterwork greenwood composite longbow (2,000 gp)
Add adaptive enchantment to same (1,000 gp)
Will replenish arrows once I have a chance to double check quantity remaining.

HP 28/28, AC 20/14/16, F +5 R +5 W +7, Init +6, Per +9

Ok, for arrows, will buy the following
40 regular for 2 gp
40 thistle for 40 gp
50 cold iron for 5 gp
20 blunt for 2 gp
2 slow burn for 300 gp
5 raining for 100 gp

Have Aero and Ialda completed their shopping?

F HP30/30 AC18 T12 FF13 F3 R4 W4/6 Init+3 Perc+9/+11 Oracle 4 (Stargazer)

Yep, as of the latest post in the loot thread, Aeronniell is ready to roll out.

Perhaps we can beseech Lavinia to supply the next wand once she proposes how she will be sticking us in harm's way on her behalf once again?

HP: 45/45 (49/49 raging), AC 16/16/15; F +6, R+2, W+4 Init. +1; Perception +10

DM, before I spend the cash, can Left Eye and myself find a way to heal our madness disease thing we contracted from the island? That will probably cost gold for a casting of remove disease or curse or whatever...

I've posted a recruitment thread for Mummy's Mask. If any of you are interested, you are welcome to apply but you're not obligated to do so. :)

HP 21/35, AC 17/12/15, F +3 R +6 W +5, Init +4, Per +4, Bardic Performance Left: 19/20, Spells Left: L1(4), L2(2)

I've already built a character for a friend's MM game, so I'll let some other folks get in on this one. Thanks for the offer, though!

The merchants are pretty easy to find. Need to know what you're asking accompanied by the relevant skill checks (diplomacy, sense motive, etc.)

Going to be out most of the day. Will pick up thread tomorrow morning.

HP: 45/45 (49/49 raging), AC 16/16/15; F +6, R+2, W+4 Init. +1; Perception +10

Take your time, L. We'll be here!

HP 28/28, AC 20/14/16, F +5 R +5 W +7, Init +6, Per +9

Need to find a way to boost your attacks a little Left-Ear. That's going to be a sad crit after that monstrosities DR.

Need to clarify thistle arrow damage. Baolo, why do you say it is a poison effect? I know the arrows are made from the sap of a poisonous plant but game effects say bleed damage. If the latter, magical healing ends effect.

HP 28/28, AC 20/14/16, F +5 R +5 W +7, Init +6, Per +9

I have found the source of confusion and I'd have to say that we should go with your ruling of bleed damage.

Thistle arrows were first introduced in the Pathfinder Chronicles Campaign Setting (3.5)

Pathfinder Chronicles Campaign Setting (3.5) wrote:
Thistle Arrow: These arrows are a specialty of the Ekujae shamans, who craft the arrowheads out of the thistles of a toxic plant that most creatures find highly caustic. They deal normal damage but then become embedded in the wound and deal an additional 1 point of damage each round for 1d6 rounds from their irritating sap. Creatures immune to poison are immune to this extra damage. A creature can remove an embedded thistle arrow as a move action without provoking attacks of opportunity, but doing so deals an additional 1d3 points of damage as the thorny barbs are pulled free. A DC 12 Heal check (made as a standard action) can pull free a thistle arrow’s head without dealing any additional damage. A single thistle arrow costs 1 gp.

Then, they were re-released in the Pathfinder Player's Companion: Adventurer's Armory (PFRPG)

Pathfinder Player's Companion: Adventurer's Armory (PFRPG) wrote:
Thistle Arrow: Crafted from the thistles of a poisonous plant, these barbed arrows deal damage as a bleed effect for 1d6 rounds after a hit.

Because the latter is a PFRPG source and the former is a 3.5 source, I'd say the latter clearly usurps the former. The reason for my error is Hero Lab which is still using the text from the Pathfinder Chronicles Campaign Setting. Not a good excuse, but that's my reason.

I haven't had time to see if that change was done to either slightly nerf the arrows or to bring them in line with a simpler way of handling the effect. In looking at the layout in the Adventurer's Armory, I'll say I half wonder if it was done to keep word count down. They were trying to squeeze a lot of items into that book.

Things get further confused with the introduction of the bleeding arrow in the Pathfinder Player Companion: Alchemy Manual

Pathfinder Player Companion: Alchemy Manual wrote:

Bleeding Arrow

This sharpened hollow tube looks like the narrow proboscis of some giant insect, but it actually comes from a carnivorous plant. A bleeding arrow deals normal damage when it hits a creature and deals 1 point of bleed damage. A critical hit does not multiply the bleed damage.

F HP30/30 AC18 T12 FF13 F3 R4 W4/6 Init+3 Perc+9/+11 Oracle 4 (Stargazer)

The rules for the PFRPG introduced "bleed" as a condition, where it didn't exist as a condition keyword in the original 3.5E rules, and thus every time an ability/spell/monster imparted a bleed effect, they'd print the full details.

HP 36/40; AC 21 (23 vs evil) /14/17; F +7, R +4, W +4; Init +3; Per +1; Channel 2/3; Fighter 3, Cleric 1

GM: I just wanted to confirm the damage Gruug took / current HP's.

With Gruug's current AC at 25, it looks like only the Girallon hit for the 21 damage. Gruug was at 13 hp, so this would take him to -8 hp. I can't find where the other 5 points of damage are from?

Good catch, my mistake.

HP 28/28, AC 20/14/16, F +5 R +5 W +7, Init +6, Per +9

Heads up that I'm likely to have few if any updates until Tue Aug 19 or Wed Aug 20 due to
1. Important pitch this week
2. Losing several days to Gen Con (every slot is full)
3. Taking my oldest off to college
Always a chance I'll slip a post in here or there, but please GMPC me as needed to keep things moving.

Really wish I had time to apply to your new recruiting thread Lucendar, but this week, there is no way :(

Have a blast with that one!

HP 36/40; AC 21 (23 vs evil) /14/17; F +7, R +4, W +4; Init +3; Per +1; Channel 2/3; Fighter 3, Cleric 1

My posting may also be infrequent until Monday due to GenCon.

HP 21/35, AC 17/12/15, F +3 R +6 W +5, Init +4, Per +4, Bardic Performance Left: 19/20, Spells Left: L1(4), L2(2)

I'm heading out to GenCon starting early tomorrow, so I probably won't be posting much of anything until next Monday. See you then!

Have not forgotten you guys. Traveling to NY for 2 days, so only access to internet will be cell phone. Updated post on Thursday.

HP 28/28, AC 20/14/16, F +5 R +5 W +7, Init +6, Per +9

I'm back from Gen Con and dropping Adam off at Iowa State so starting to catch up on all the PbP action I've missed. No worries if things are a little slow to resume.

I have not forgotten about you. Just convention delays and then work travels have kept me away. I will update by end of week. Thanks for your patience.

HP 28/28, AC 20/14/16, F +5 R +5 W +7, Init +6, Per +9

No worries Lucendar. Gave me a chance to get all of my end of summer events worked out!

This game is not dead. Hopefully, you guys are still around (I know Ialda is). I just misplaced the module from which I was basing this side-trek but I should have a new copy during this week. Hopefully, you will all still want to continue. :)
