Friye is able to improve the piloting system again, making it even easier to control.

No, I am sorry, I didn't mean to make it sound like that...but I am not sure how you got that. What can I be more clear with? The only team that you know of is you with Lemgem.

For your improvement, are you trying to turn the energy weapon into a kinetic one? Because I am not sure the benefit of that rather than mounting a new kinetic gun? Or were you trying to improve the gun? I will update the sheet once you explain.

You get a good look at Velocity's car, and it looks well armed! It looks like there are at least 3 guns, however, it looks extremely slow. It is not overly defended.

Upgrades!:

+2 piloting check
+1 attack bonus
1 energy weapon
+5 speed
Overload Engines-his modification allows you to press their engine during the race and double their speed for one round, but there is a 50% chance the engine could have an internal malfunction on the next round that permanently reduces the vehicle’s base speed by half.

What you know:

Lemgem-Alliance, random speed (SM=yes engineering=no)
Nyizin-Death wish driver. (SM=yes engineering=no)
Orsis-Heavy armored car, not particularly offensive or fast (SM=no Engineering=yes)
Ratrod- Fast, good armor, can absorb energy attacks to boost his car. (SM=no Egineering=yes)
Velocity-Well armed car, not very fast (SM=no Engineering=yes)
If you think I missed something, let me know. I decided this would probably be helpful for you guys. I should of been doing it from the start.

You had each driver listed in a seperate row except Velocity, "she" was added to the end of Ratrod's entry, so I thought "she" was part of "his" pit crew or something. I am sorry for the misunderstanding.

I thought each gun added was increasing the piloting check penalty, so I thought to convert the one that was there in the beginning into a kinetic one to give us options without further penalties.

First, I just went back up and you are right, I made a typo with Velocity. I am so sorry for that! "she" belongs on their own line. Second, no the guns are not giving you a penalty on the piloting check. How the mechanic works for guns in races work is rather than doing HP damage, if you hit a car, the driver gets a - to their piloting check that round so the minus is explaining the penalty for getting hit by that gun (the gun can be boosted to make the penalty 2 higher for each boost). The advantage to having more guns is that during the race, it would give more people something to do since you will have 1 pilot, and as many shooters as you have guns. For some reason, the adventure tells me to explain how the race works after the building phase, but I think if I ever run this again, I will be more transparent from the start.Knowing that information, should I assume that you were adding a kinetic gun? I will wait to record it just to make sure we are on the same page now.

Dexter's Will save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17 Dexter, you feel him try to reach into your mind, but you manage to fight off his spell. In your head, you hear Like I told your friend, don't you dare think about messing with my car!. You can tell he one of the middle of the road pilots in skill here. He takes pride in his work and cares about how he looks while doing it. His use of "detect thoughts" is used mostly to hear the inner praise people give him even if they won't say it to his face. You think that because of his pride, he would be unwilling to join a team with you, but you might be able to get a benefit for befriending him with a diplomacy check.

When you boost damage, you need to choose a specific weapon. I believe Alzandre will be adding a physical one, so I will give a boost to that one if I am correct.

Lastly, Navasi, I will allow you to change who you investigate because Captain Dexter successfully sense motive'd him before you. I will let you keep the roll, I just need to know who you want to investigate.

With a smile and a shake to seal the deal, Ceolor heads back to the pit that everyone is working in. He glances at the list of improvements that people have added to the racer, before shaking his head. having a lot of weapons doesn't do a dang bit of good if we move slower than a snail. This thing could use some extra speed. Hmm, maybe there's some good stuff in the junk pile out back...

Ceolor takes a moment to dig through the pile hoping to find soem sort of junk that can be of use. While doing so he covertly observes their main competetion and how the engine in his ysoki head works. Sadly being distracted by two different things results in him losing any grasp on the workings of either. Well, I see why no one's been improving that! It's all junk!

Velocity is probably the best driver on the track. But she has never won a race because she seems clueless when it comes to building her car. She does enjoy her guns though. You think that if someone spent the time working with her, she may be willing to join a team with you guys. Volkzari thinks that if someone goes and successfully boosts her speed, she will join an alliance the same way Lemgem did

Blehh... don't matter. I get to go fast now! I got your back in this face! But this is a one time deal. They have the happiest look on their face at the idea of going fast!

Kitty comes back with a report on Nyizin's strange car. Unstable black-market mods made of dragon bone and elemental energies fill Nyizin’s vehicle. He let's out a low whistle of appreciation before, "I just have to say, THAT is one slick looking ride. Way better than the debris fire Ratrod gets all the attention for. I was converting the original energy weapon into a electro-magnetic railgun so we would have something to shoot Ratgun with that wouldn't help him. If the number of weapons don't matter to the performance of the racer, then I would like to just add a new gun(the electro-magnetic railgun) for a total of 3 guns. Also, I am not sure but I thought someone (tried to?) improved the EAC but I'm not sure.

Okay, from last round, I will add a new weapon kinetic weapon and Captain Dexter will have upgraded it. This round, he fails the check to upgrade again. Dexter, socializing is its own action, you can not do both an upgrade and and a socialization in the same round so I will only count the first roll this round.

Alzandre, I think someone attempted to upgrade EAC, but failed. I will reread posts once I am done with this and if I am wrong, I will let you know.

Sorry, didn’t have much time today to get sat down and post something.

Ceolor not finding a dang thing to do in the junk pile decides it was a stupid idea for him to even try and instead stamps back to the group's bay. After asking everyone if there's anything her can do that might help that doesn't involve technology, he's glad to hear that Orsis might be amenable to a meeting.

He wanders over to their booth, sizing the lashunta up before deciding to move in a get a better look. |"You're Orsis, right? THE Orsis? I can't believe you are in this race as well! You're the best looking junk racer on the station by far, and your ride is always better looking than most cars today! Mind if I get an autograph?..." After a few moments of buttering the lashunta up, he moves on to a different topic. "You've probably already heard the rumors about this, but we’re trying to take Ratrod down a peg or two. The race will be on a 3000 ft circuit track. The first to cross the finish line wins. You are allowed to fire your weapons at any other car along the way.

If you hit, the pilots will take a - during Phase Two. Phase Two is the pilot phase. You make a piloting check. The target DC is 16 after all adjustments. If you fail, your car moves at half speed. If you fail by 10 or more, you don't move at all. You also choose before the roll if you want to use any special abilities (ie. Overload engines).

Everyone lines up on the starting line. Laboni is lined up ready to go, though she knows she will not be doing much of anything. After the drama between Ratrod and Laboni, there seems to be a larger than normal crowd. Everyone takes their positions in the pit crew. Even if a crit does not give any bonus, Ratrod is up to a -10 to his piloting check. Unless someone tells me I am allowed to add a bonus for crits, I think by rules of SFS, I can not give a bonus on crits (as much as I would like to). I will get back with a definitive answer as soon as I have one. We will move on to phase 2 once Ceolor posts.

Busy day yesterday and today! Sincere apologies for holding everything up!

Ceolor gives a low whistle as he watches the two kinetic shots slam into the sides of Ratrod's racer. "Remind me to never piss you two off in a fight!"

He then takes a moment to breathe before focusing his sights on Nyizin's racer and firing the weak electric arc his weapon creates.

Friye takes the first shot against Ratrod. The shot seems to of really messed something up as it found a weak point in the armor. Followed instantly with another shot to the same spot by Volkzari. Ratrod's car looks like it is in a rough place from the start. -20 piloting to Ratrod

Unfortunately, Ceolor and Navasi miss their targets with the energy weapons.

Oddly, Lemgem's car seems to lack any weaponry so she does not fire at anyone.

Velocity is having the time of her life as she is playing around with all 3 guns! Her first shot misses Nyizin with an energy weapon but strikes true with her kinetic weapon. She has a much more powerful gun she blats Orsis with but his heavy armor absorbs the blast. -4 to Nyizin

Nyizin fires back at Velocity with her kinetic weapon. But Velocity's car is able to take the hit with no real damage done.

Orsis decides it is time to take out one of the competitors who just roughed up the favored to win's car. He shoot's at your car! His shot seems to of thrown the car off balance a bit, making it harder to steer! You take a -4 to piloting checks.

Ratrod retaliates against you with a shot from his energy gun. He hits you, but for a lot less than you hit him for. -4 to piloting checks

Lemgem shoots head going faster than any of you have ever seen a car go!

The hit that Nyizen took but of messed her up more than it looked like because the car doesn't even begin to move!

Orsis effortlessly opens his car up to full throttle and flies down the track, trying (and failing) to keep up with Lemgem.

Ratrod is in a bad spot has his car is competently stalled out at the starting line. He is unable to move at all!

Velocity takes off after everyone else but even with her speed boost, she is still driving slower than everyone else who was able to leave the starting line.

Okay, it is your turn for Phase 2 to see how far you go! You will get your piloting skill (6) + your cars piloting boost (6) - your penalty for shots (8). Good luck! Also, I will allow people to start rolling their shots for round 2 phase 1!

Alzandre, no I didn't see the roll haha I was working on the post while you posted so I didn't notice, your roll will work.

Your car takes a stuttered start from all the hits, but it takes off trying to keep up with everyone else. You get message through the comm unit from Lemgem While I can't take out enemies for you with this car, I can make myself into the best target for everyone else!

Navasi lands a nice energy blast on Nyizin's car, making some of her systems short out. -4 Nyizin

Sadly, Friye's shot does not seem to effect Ratrod. She was unable to land that sweet spot she got last time. I am confused why you are getting plus 3 to hit? Your dex + Bab=2 as far as I can tell. Then you added extra 1? The car is giving you a -2 to your attack rolls

Volkzari is in a similar boat of hitting Ratrods car, but it just doesn't seem to be knocking it off balance. It has some nice armor on it.

Ceolor struggles to account for the difference in distance and his shot lands short of hitting Orsis.

Velocity tries to catch up to Orsis by giving him a nice shot behind with two of her guns. Despite his car being armored, her shots are well placed and both throw him off balance. Her last shot goes to the biggest threat in this race, Ratrod. But the fast turn around from shooting forward to shooting backwards does not go well for her and her shot misses him. -8 to Orsis

Nyizin makes a shot at Lemgem since she is so far in the lead! Despite the great distance, she manages to throw Lemgem off balance a little bit. [ooc] -4 to Lemgem

Orsis has the same idea in mind also takes a shot at poor Lemgem. But Lemgem is able to outwit him and makes his shot miss completely.

Ratrod, still in a feud with you guys, he takes his shot at you. His shot hits making it hard to control the car.

Since Lemgem is swerving back forth because of the loss of balance, she only moves forward half as fast as she did last before.

Nyizin is a bit wobbly but finally bursts off of the starting line. You can tell something is off with her car though because it doesn't seem to hit it's full potential. Now that she is moving and you can see her mods in action, she looks like a giant target because she would be easy to hit but those mods make the car fast even with moving at half speed!

Ratrod takes off, finally fixing the damage from to his car from that first pounding. HaHa Suckers! I back in it! The crowd is going wild!

Everyone's action! Alzandre, this round you are only taking a -4! You guys are doing good so far! If you move full speed this round, you will be in second place with your ally being the only one ahead of you.

Alzandre expertly pilots the car into second place and feeling comfortable there since the only person ahead of the group is an ally.

Volkzari takes aim at Ratrod, hoping to maintain the lead that you have gotten. His shot strikes true causing Ratrod a distraction while trying to make up for lost ground. -4 Ratrod
