"Flex Time" is a method of pbp which allows 'scenes' and 'conversations' to continue at the same point in time they started (basically), while allowing the GM to push the adventure along.
To do this, the one who wishes to post using Flex Time needs to put, in OOC (out of character) text, "Flex Time - Scene being flexed" at the top of the post. Then they can just post whatever they want in the scene specified.
The GM has the power to end flex time conversations at their discretion. Periodically a GM will state "All flex time conversations will be closed in the next 24 hours." This power lets the GM keep things relatively tidy in the forum and helps everyone keep things straight as to who is saying what and when they're saying it.
FOR EXAMPLE Lets say Jim and I just met, and our chars are still introducing themselves, but the GM wants to post the next step in the adventure.
---------------
Flex Time - Introductions with Dan
"So Jim, how many green aliens have you slept with? ...I meant taken pics of, yeah that's it!"
---------------
Jim could then reply using the same, or a similar, heading so I'd know it was our conversation he was 'flex time-responding to'.
It's not mandatory to participate in or initiate Flex Time conversations, but it does come in handy and keeps the story moving forward when it might otherwise be 'paused' waiting for conversations/scenes to finish up.
Sound cool had something like that haopen in another pbp where me and another player were discussing where a ckeric got their powers me being the cleric. so we did simething akin to this and it worked great.
Hmmm,I guess I should have gone in the Discussion tab before posting, Oh well...
The one with the Missionary trait would be me. I guess it would not be the recommended path for a non Sarenrae cleric, but let's see how this plays out.
My apologies for making you guys wait so long for my game post. And not being able to reply to everyone's direct in-characters questions/responses to the event.
Hope you'll all forgive me.
I'll check in throughout the day, but won't be making any follow-up posts until tomorrow night.
I must apologize for my lack of posting. Work has been crazy busy since Wednesday and my family and I are going out of town for the weekend starting tomorrow.
Everything should be back to normal starting on Monday and I should be able to resume a normal posting schedule. If you need to please feel free to 'bot me to keep the story moving.
Turok will spend his rounds casting Create Water on the flaming wagon until is extinguished.
I know the start has been a little bit shaky, but I'm sure we'll settle down after a couple of weeks.
After you guys reach 2nd level, I'll give everyone a chance to tweak their character if they want. Take a different trait, swap out a feat, etc. It'll be a one-time event, just in case there's something you're not happy with.
For anyone with a campaign trait, some of them may not kick in until later in the campaign (end of the first adventure), so just be patient. Eventually everything will come full circle.
As far as my posting frequency goes, I really am limited to once a day. I just got told I have 2 days to finish a job that should take 6. Groan. Between calls with my boss, and writing reports, unfortunately, until things settle down a bit, I have to put of posting until later in the day. I'll keep you all updated if anything changes.
Hey Tom, I have to report for Jury Duty Monday morning. Hopefully I'm not selected, but if I am someone might need to take Fahada over for awhile. Either way, I will definitely return asap.

I was on a jury once and we got 2 breaks a lunch and got to go home at night. And all i did was play on my phone during the selection process until.they called me up to the jury box.
I doubt they'll choose me to be honest, and they wouldn't keep me from the net unless it becomes sequestered. I doubt it's that serious, I haven't heard of anything that serious in the news as of late.
