Drael Kapernos |

Drael cringes away from Undrella as he draws his shortbow and looses an arrow at the approaching ogre. Make sure you all aren't around when he gets here, I don't want anyone getting hurt.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3
He pauses for a moment, considering the situation. Him being the obvious exception, I suppose.

![]() |

The goblin jester panics and races to the north, disappearing around a corner. As Layaali roars at the balcony, Drael's arrow plonks up against the massive creature's thick hide, failing to puncture. Hurvank chortles and cracks his own neck.
Razif, Rab-rab, and Min may act!

Min Bunnisbeldar |

Min quickly casts a spell on himself as he takes a step toward the edge of the stage. "Sumpeery koo kala!"
Mage armour.

Min Bunnisbeldar |

Oh actually, I already have it on and have used up a spell slot for it earlier. I had forgotten. Instead he uses a scroll of shield on himself.

Rab-rab Bunnis |

Rab-rab grabs Min's hand and hurries off the battle stage, then hides behind it's wall. As she hides a gust of wind swirls around her. Then it picks up speed! Soon it is a tornado around her, and in the wind are tiny wind rabbits!
She is hopping off the stage then gathering power. The wind doesn't actually do anything, but it's a part of gather power and is a 20 ft. radius around her. She is not actually hiding because gather power is a big flashy windy display.

![]() |

If Min drew and activated a scroll on his turn, then he could not have moved with you Rab-rab. That would give him three actions in a turn and would turn this game into a Pathfinder 2e game and I am NOT PREPARED FOR THAT.
Rab-rab moves and pleads with Min to move, but the sorcerer chooses to use a scroll instead as the kineticist gathers a cyclone of rabbits about herself.
Awaiting Razif.

Razif al-Akkuya |

The 2e revolution is here!
Heeding Drael's advice, Razif strides forward, both breaking off from the group a bit and closing the distance between himself and the ogre. Then, he strikes with his bow!
Deadly aim is on
Attack: 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (5) + 5 - 1 = 9
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

![]() |

Rab-rab, there's no wall where you are - you're huddling up against the side of the battle stage. Just a clarification for you.
The ranger steps in front of Drael. With trembling fingers, he looses an arrow that flies wide of its wide target. Hurvank looks over his shoulder where the arrow lands, shrugs, and charges Razif.
Melee Attack, Grapple, Charge: 1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 11 + 2 = 24 HIT! Razif, you are grappled, as is the monster. He immediately brings you adjacent to him as per the grappling rules.
The large creature rushes quickly at Razif, wrapping its tower shield-sized hands around the ranger and pulling him into a not-so-friendly hug. From the peanut gallery, a motley crew begins a chant in an odd language.
"Megfojtani! Megfojtani! Megfojtani!"
Hurvank chuckles.
It is Layaali's turn, followed by everyone else in Round 2!

Layaali Twice-Born |

Yeah, Rab-rab meant she was hiding behind the raised stage.
Layaali scowls at the ogre and bellows loudly, "DROP HIM!"
Command! The ogre must attempt a DC 15 Will save or let go of everything he is holding. (Which I assume also includes Razif!)

![]() |

The ogre is holding Razif; that's it. There's no 'behind' to the raised stage. It's the side of the raised stage; it's maybe two feet high. Rab-rab herself said that she's not hiding.
Will Save vs Layaali: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8 FAIL!
Hurvank will drop what he's holding - as per the spell's description - on his next turn.
Round 2!
"GAH-ga-ga-ga-ga-GAAAAAAAAAAHH!"
The harpy gives out a mad laugh then holds out her arm.
"Bird! To me!" she commands. In a curious moment, a gangly long-legged bird descends from a platform above the stage and lands on Undrella's arm.
Drael, Razif, Rab-rab, and Min may all act!

Drael Kapernos |

Drael drops the bow at his feet, drawing his blade as he walks towards their foe. Now glowing slightly with an arcane power, he steps up to the ogre and lashes out, doing his best to avoid Razif as he does so.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
Damage: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9

![]() |

Drael's imbued blade slices deeply into the monstrous figure's flank, drawing a roar of pain.
Razif, Rab-rab, and Min may all act!

Min Bunnisbeldar |

"Stay here, Rab-rab." Min says a little nervously. He moves closer to the ogre and takes careful aim as he rubs his hands together. "Nindralius boing-boing!" He shoves his hands out and fires an blast of icy snow and ice all over the place!
Burning hands that deals cold damage. He is aiming so he hits the ogre and not Razif.
Cold Damage: 3d4 ⇒ (2, 3, 3) = 8 DC 14 Reflex save for half damage.

Rab-rab Bunnis |

Rab-rab moves over a bit, hops up to her feet, and shoots a super blast of air at the ogre!
Ranged Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 6 + 1 = 13
Magic B Damage: 2d6 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (4, 4) + 5 + 1 = 14

![]() |

Reflex Save: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (10) + 0 = 10 FAIL!
The ogre roars at the combination of icy winds that tear at his form from the gnome siblings. He abruptly drops the ranger (as per Layaali's command) and focuses his fury on the nearest next target: Drael.
Melee Attack vs Drael's CMD: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26 HIT! Drael, you are grappled. Razif, you are prone!
Hurvank wraps his massive hands around the suli warrior and heaves him to the left as he re-positions himself away from the adventuring gang, using Drael as a shoulder. Hurvank shouts over his shoulder.
"Gyere fel és segíts engem, idióták!"
GM roll: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
Layaali, may go. Drael and Razif may take their turns at the top of Round 3, but no further in initiative order, please.

Layaali Twice-Born |

Layaali casts her arms out to the sides. "Surrender while you can, brute!"
Casting bless. All her allies within 50 ft. get a +1 morale bonus on attack rolls and saves against fear.

Drael Kapernos |

Drael does his best to break the ogre's grip, then lashes out with his sword in the newly created space between him and their foe.
CMB Check: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Damage: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

Razif al-Akkuya |

Razif gets back up and braces himself for the ogre's next attack.
Move action to get up from prone, followed by total defense. Can't exactly use a ranged attack from here...

Drael Kapernos |

He's currently raging, which gives a +4 to Strength. I've added alternative stats to my stat bar for ease of reference.
I did just check my math though, and realized that his attack roll after breaking the grapple should have had a +9 modifier, if that makes a difference.

![]() |

Drael roughly shoves Hurvank the Strangler away from him as Razif struggles to his feet. With a vicious upswing, the suli warrior paints a gaping red ribbon on the underside of Hurvank's throat. The ogre grabs in futility at it before sinking to his knees and collapsing in a pile.
Just at that moment, a trio of bugbears springs up from the drinking perch where Hurvank originated from. Bearing morningstars and spiked clubs, the creatures growl and launch themselves at Drael and Razif!
Green can't reach y'all, but will instead attempt to demoralise Drael, Razif, Min, and Layaali. Red will attack Drael; Yellow will attack Razif.
Intimidate Check from Green Bugbear: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23 SUCCESS! That's enough to give Drael, Layaali, Min, and Razif the shaken for 2 rounds.
One of the bugbears screams a blood-curdling battle cry, swinging its morningstar in a circle around its head as its two colleagues advance and attack!
Melee Attack on Razif: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 181d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 HIT! 7 pts of damage, Razif!
Melee Attack on Drael: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 111d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11 MISS!
Min, Rab-rab, and Layaali may act!

Rab-rab Bunnis |

Rab-rab shoots a blast of air bunnies at the yellow bugbear close to her brother!
Ranged Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 6 + 1 = 21
Magic Bludgeoning Damage: 2d6 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (3, 1) + 5 + 1 = 10

Min Bunnisbeldar |

Min hurries back and away from the bugbears then rolls his hands over each other faster and faster. "Kskooo kskooo!" He mutters over and over. Getting louder and LOUDER! Then he thrusts his hands forward and a beam of ice shoots out of his hands!
Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 5 - 4 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 5 - 4 - 2 = 19
Cold Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Confirming a Critical Hit: 1d20 + 5 - 4 - 2 ⇒ (11) + 5 - 4 - 2 = 10
Extra Cold Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6

Layaali Twice-Born |

At the start of Layaali's turn her lifeline activates on Razif.
With a shimmering of light, Razif's wounds knit themselves back together, while the same wounds open on Layaali herself. Razif heals 5 and Layaali takes 5.
Then she pulls out and loads her crossbow.

Razif al-Akkuya |

Gritting his teeth at the hit and still shaking from the howl, Razif drops his bow, draws his scimitar, and slices at the bugbear that hit him!
Melee attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

![]() |

Sister Rab-rab punishes the lead bugbear with a gout of wind. Brother Min manages to give the same foe a mild case of frostbite. Layaali heals the ranger.
Round 3! Razif, I'll delay your actions as it's not yet your turn.
The unflapped harpy crows at her gangly bird companion and then points a taloned finger at the bugbears.
GM rolls: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 201d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21 SUCCESS!
The bugbears growl and shake their furry heads, but nothing else occurs. The ranger swings his scimitar at the injured bugbear but fails to connect.
Drael, it is your turn. You are SHAKEN.

Drael Kapernos |

It's nice to be back!
Drael flinches for a moment, before steeling himself and lashing out at the closest bugbear.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Solid start to the year...

![]() |

Drael misses with his heavy swing. The injured bugbear on Razif's left howls and charges the female gnome, incensed enough to leave himself open to the ranger's reprieve.
Razif, you may taken an attack of opportunity!

![]() |

Razif swings over the head of the charging bugbear who bears down on Rab-rab, his wicked morningstar singing a deadly song.
Melee Attack vs Rab-rab, Charge: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 5 + 2 = 161d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 HIT! 5 pts damage, Rab-rab!
The bugbear bearing a spiked club swings at Drael as the intimidating bugbear enters the gap vacated by the charging bugbear, attacking Razif.
Melee Attack vs Drael: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 101d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 MISS!
Melee Attack vs Razif: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 101d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 MISS!
Rab-rab, Min, and Layaali are up!

Layaali Twice-Born |

Layaali takes a five foot step to the side, waits for Min and Rab-rab to step away from the gnoll (they will definitely do so on their turns), then fires her crossbow at the yellow gnoll.
Ranged Attack: 1d20 + 2 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 + 1 - 2 = 6 (-2 is for her Dex penalty)
Piercing Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 3
As her bolt misses and lands in the stands she reloads her crossbow.
Reminder to allies that bless is active.

Rab-rab Bunnis |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Haha! My mom typed gnolls but meant bugbear.
"WAAAAAHH! You meanie!" Rab-rab shrieks in pain. "Save me, big brother!"
Rab-rab takes a five-foot step back and throws her arms out, gathering wind around her that becomes a tornado! Gather power. Then she shoots a mega blast of bunny wind at the yellow bugbear! Air blast with the pushing infusion.
Ranged Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 6 + 1 + 1 = 18
Magic Bludgeoning Damage: 2d6 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (1, 1) + 5 + 1 = 8
If Hit: Bull Rush: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23 (This bull rush can move the enemy a minimum of 5 ft.

Min Bunnisbeldar |

Min takes a five foot step back, then yells at the bugbear in anger! "You'll pay for that!"
"Santy rabbanty!" he shouts, sending a blast of rainbows over the bugbear that hurt his sister. Colour spray. Will DC 14.

Layaali Twice-Born |

Rab-rab meant maximum. Her bull rush can move the enemy a maximum of 5 ft. if it succeeds.

![]() |

Layaali's crossbow bolt fires high, but Rab-rab's blast of bunny wind and Min's spray of magical colour hit the hapless bugbear at the same time, collapsing it into a pile of limbs.
Round 4!
Undrella calls out to Drael.
"Finish them quickly, love. I will make certain that those who fall trouble you no more. We should seek out Kardswann with haste!" A murderous intent flashes in her eyes as she viciously brings her morningstar down onto the fallen ogre, crunching in the back of its head in a spray of gore.
Coup de Grace damage: 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (5, 7) + 4 = 16
GM roll: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Drael and Razif may act!

Drael Kapernos |

Drael rolls his eyes as he again swings at the closest bugbear, frustration showing on his face as he hacks viciously into its side. Maybe you could help with the conscious ones first?
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
Crit Damage: 2d8 + 12 ⇒ (3, 6) + 12 = 21

![]() |

Drael crushes the ribcage of the bugbear with the spiked club, dropping it like a sack of potatoes.
Razif may act!

Razif al-Akkuya |

"Nice one, Drael!"
Following Drael's example, Razif attacks the remaining bugbear near him.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

![]() |

Razif's attack misses. The bugbear responds with a snarl. Not foolish enough to square off against both swordsmen now that his brothers are down, the bugbear beats a hasty retreat to the west of the battle arena, seeking allies as it ducks behind the wall separating the gallery off from the arena proper.
Full withdrawal. That bugbear now has full cover. Layaali, Min, and Rab-rab may act!

Layaali Twice-Born |

Layaali glances around herself, then lets out a healing burst, praying aloud for Vildeis to take their wounds upon herself. (Using selective channeling to ensure she doesn't heal her dying/unconscious enemies)
Channel Energy: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 1) = 6
All allies should be at full hp except for Layaali.

Rab-rab Bunnis |

Not quite sure if the yellow bugbear is dead or just unconscious from Min's rainbow blast, Rab-rab shoots another blast of wind at him while he's down!
Ranged Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 6 + 1 + 1 = 9
Magic Bludgeoning Damage: 2d6 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (4, 2) + 5 + 1 = 12
That doesn't include if there's any negatives for attacking a bad guy laying down.

Min Bunnisbeldar |

Min hurries over to his sister's side and casts a spell on her, to protect her from these evil bad guys!
Protection from evil on Rab-rab.

Layaali Twice-Born |

Oh, she knows. She just didn't check what she rolled after posting it.

![]() |

Rab-rab blasts the field once more with an air buffet, failing to connect with anything in her chaotic state. Min and Layaali provide arcane and divine support, respectively.
Round 5!
GM rolls: 1d20 ⇒ 61d6 ⇒ 6
The crowd roars with fury as the galleries teem with blades and snarls of challenge. None step forward yet, however.
Razif and Drael may act, but there are no combatants in range at present. Delaying is an option.

Drael Kapernos |

Drael twirls his sword, waiting for the next opponent to make themselves known.
I am tired of games. Come here, and let us end this, Kardswann.
Delaying for now.

![]() |

Kardswann, looming three stories up above the torch-lit battle stage, does not reply to Drael's casual challenge, but instead withdraws into the shadows. Two separate clutches of Kulldis warriors do respond though, charging from both the east and the west galleries, their chained flails whistling viciously over their heads. Just behind them, the lone bugbear combatant charges wildly at the gnome siblings.
Undrella snarls and crows at the lone gnoll that dares to engage with her, swinging her own morningstar at it in rapid successive strikes as it approaches.
"Flee, mewling dog!"
Melee Attack #1: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 201d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 HIT! 7pts of damage
Melee Attack #2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 111d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9 MISS!
The harpy strikes the gnoll true with her first blow but misses with the second swing.
Drael and Razif, you may act!
