A Starfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 1-4.
A missing Starfinder ship's distress signal would have gone unnoticed were it not for a passerby detecting it and selling the information to the Society. The PCs are to travel to the crippled starship, and once aboard, reach the bridge in order to piece together the tragic story of the vessel's lost crew. Only by unraveling the mysteries of the drifting starship can the PCs hope to uncover information critical to the Exo-Guardians future operations.
Content in Cries From the Drift also contributes to the ongoing goals of the Exo-Guardians faction.

I haven't really played Starfinder that much, but I'm beginning to feel AC doesn't matter much. At least for PC's. I mean a lvl 1 character can hope to have max KAC around 18, and this enemy (similar to most of the other enemies in other scenarios) attack bonus of 12 - so it'll hit very easily even the best armored PC's.
I understand the dynamic of SF is to "Go down" far more often than in PF, and then just use RP to spring back up. But I'm wondering if there's any point in investing in armor?
How do you guys feel?
(I'm ranting because I'm wondering if I should retrain the heavy armor proficiency away...)

It matters more later - look at the pregens for ACs by level. Soldiers need AC more than casters unless you are planning being in melee.
If you look at the creature CR charts in Alien Archive you can get a feel for how hit advancement works and when you'll need armor.

The Alien Archive boon is like a Chronicle sheet. Players get a line signed off each time they play through a session, and at 6 and 12 sessions, they earn more races that they can play as with new characters. Anyone can start one, Liam can send a new one for you, though you will have to have a copy of Alien Archives to play any that you earn.

There is and I'll send it to you. I went and saw Infinity War tonight instead of being a good GM and working on sheets, but I should be done in a day or so and have them out. The big rush was getting it reported so HQ can do whatever it is they do.
