I just realized that I forgot to ad Lilias bonus spells known(for Int bonus) when I looked over Tobias crunch and noticed how many spells he had.
If it is ok I would add Adhesive Spit, Crafters Fortune and Shockshield to her list of spells known(and the languages I still have'nt added).

Adhesive spit is an awesome choice given you're an Amazonite.

Also fine.
While y'all are RPing in the other thread (which I love) why don't we handle any prep work here.
So, sound off!
I want a statement from each of the five of you as to what you're doing to get ready for the mission tomorrow. Even if all you're doing is getting a good night's sleep. Seriously, if you get a solid 8-10 hours in I'll give you a bonus on the first roll you make the next day.
Lilia Aconite |
assuming Lilia has her Mutagen(+con) already prepared, she will prepare cure light wounds and leave her other extract slot open. She will go over her equipment once deciding what to take with her(weapon armor, food and drink, her alchemy stuff and the usefull small stuff) and get a good nights rest.
Tobias Taviston |
Tobias is going to prepare a shield extract and leave his other extract slots open.

Okay, then. Did anyone want to do any of the things Gil suggested? Try to find more information on the tomb or the warrior inside? Find out more about the other adventuring groups? Does everyone have the gear they need?
If everyone's set, I'll go move forward with the adventure in the morning. By which I mean the real world morning (that's roughly 12 hours from now for me) and not the in game morning. Which it will also be.

Please take a moment to visit our Roll20 map site:

Create an account if you don't have one already and confirm that you can move your token. Once everyone's confirmed they can we'll move onto the next phase of the exploration - what's on the other side of the door.

@JGray: just a few random questions on the setting:
Do Planetouched(tieflings, Undines, ...) exist on Krystallos?
Have you found a place for the fey in the setting?

I can confirm that I can move my token. But, you didn't say that you were using roll20 before. I can only use it at home, and don't have the time to use it more than once every other day or so. (Cannot use roll20 at work, leave for work before dawn, get home from work after 9:30 pm.)
While Roll20 is better than many other options, it will make things much more difficult for me. Using google docs is an option that I can use at work occasionally.
I will try to keep up, but, I may have some issues with tacticals.
Dorian Quartz |
If you'd like I can move your token for you when you are unable.
The big issue is not moving the token, but understanding the tactical situation. Swashbucklers are all about the tacticals.

We are in combat!
A surprise round has occurred and we are now in round 1.
Initiative is at the top of the thread in the campaign information.
Dorian, a link to a screen capture of the battle map is at the bottom of my post in the gameplay thread.
Here are some things to keep in mind as we continue:
- Feel free to post your actions out of order. I realize that with PbPs you post when you are able and the timing isn't always optimal.
- If you feel the need, set yourself up with if/then statements in your actions. For example, you might say "if X steps up to the monster on one side, I'll step up to the other so we're flanking" or "if monster Z is still standing by my turn, I'm gonna bash him in the head with my mace".
- As you make your posts, please keep in mind the turn order. If someone with a lower initiative has posted their action before you have, try not to take into account what they did - since it hasn't happened yet.
- If you go later in the initiative order but have posted your action and find you want to change it based on what someone from earlier in the initiative order has posted, make a new post to let us know. I'll allow it.
- I will try to update as often as possible but will keep initiative order in mind. For example, if initiative order is player X, player Y, player Z and players X and Z have both posted, I'll resolve the attack of player X but not of player Z since player Y hasn't posted yet. That is, of course, assuming I get a moment to do so during the day.
- Please keep track of your hit point, spells/extracts/X per day powers. It is important to do so.
- Finally, please do not give me your next round's actions in advance. I will announce when each round ends and the next begins.
Any questions?

Is it possible to craft some safety goggles (aviator goggles style) from the scorpions shell?
If yes, what craft skill would be used? How much would it cost? And how long would it take?

Yes, it is possible. You'd need to treat the shell, though, because it is translucent and not perfectly transparent. Alternatively, you could easily make them into Smoked Goggles, which help protect against gaze attacks (at the price of a penalty to perception checks).
I would rule Craft (Carving), Craft (Armor) or Craft (Clothing) would work for the skill.
It would cost 1 gp for the supplies to make smoked goggles, 2 gp for normal goggles.
It would probably take you a solid day of crafting either way.
The DC would be 12.

@JGray: just a few random questions on the setting:
Do Planetouched(tieflings, Undines, ...) exist on Krystallos?
Have you found a place for the fey in the setting?
Sorry, Lilia. I missed this.
Planetouched do not exist (or don't seem to) in Krystallos. They are certainly an unknown.
Yes, I've found a place for the fey. I'm still working out the specifics but what I have so far are that fey are strange creatures/beings who divide their time between our world and the fey world. Scholars have determined that there isn't one fey world but several and that these worlds occupy folds in space tucked away inside objects (in other words, fey worlds are actually in Krystallos. They're folds in space contained inside objects that are bigger on the inside than the outside). Fey are relatively benign if alien but can transform into demons under somewhat mysterious circumstances (in other words, fey are the "seelie" side and demons are the "unseelie" side of each faerie). As a result, fey are extremely difficult to deal with as one never knows when they'll go into a rage and turn demon.
Fey are not crossfertile with the mortal races.
Lilia Aconite |
first a natural 1 followed by a natural 20...
@JGray: so Krystallos has two kinds of demons, the unseelie fey and the "normal" extraplanar demons.
Is the lack of planetouched connected to the lack of magical bloodlines?
Lilia Aconite |
Hrmm Odd, Humans CANT mate with everything under the Sun.. astonishing.
maybe thats why Krystallos has no dragons with their ability to mate with EVERYTHING that is alive.

Actually, there aren't the standard extra planar demons. There's very little contact with the other planes in general and Tiamat's slave-armies did not use demons or Devils.
Summoning is probably the most poorly understood form of magic and mostly it functions more like teleporting, pulling creatures from elsewhere in Krystallos.
And yes, humans are only cross fertile with elves (and vice versa) leading to some speculation that they are branches of the same race.

Well hey, Dorian basically pounced into the new room saying, "Hey, who's going down the pit of death? Anyone? Anyone? It should be me. I can go down the pit of death."
And Tobias just nods to everyone slowly.

Weren't the entrance doors like sealed with cement? I'm surprised our tomb robber friends were so thorough.
And yay for 100 posts, here's to hoping for thousands more.

If you go back and reread the flavor text:
"The doors are on concealed hinges and swing open outward, not inward. There are traces or mortar around the seams and jamb of the door that have since crumbled (or been chipped away). That indicates that this tomb was meant to be sealed permanently and not intended to be opened again."

Yeah that's a pretty good representation. Since they're a guild sized organization most of their profits would be made from reclaiming and then redistributing raw materials that would otherwise be difficult to acquire in a dessert.
Antiques, while not under their "official" purview, would probably be something they can get their hands on easily. However, doing so is probably frowned upon by the government which means that moving antiques are down on a smaller scale by Guild members who are "in the know" so to speak.
Whether it is a sign of corruption or simply something they do because they've come to sort of understanding with Shibattis government is up to you.

Gotcha I missed that part the first time round.
I have to admit, I like my version of courteous grave robbers better lol.
