Zartana |

im still up. these wolfs will make nice pelts

![]() |

My bad, I should have stepped in sooner, Alexio attacks the wolf facing him but fails to hit.
The wolf to the left steps up towards Kazz and Zartana and fails to hit. Just then a large, but not Large, wolf with intelligent red eyes races up and attacks Zartana on the flank, with clear strategic intent, Natural 20 Right in the ear. The wolf rips Zartana's ear off. 14 damage, 1 int damage and 1 bleed. It fails to bring her to the ground at the same time.
Facing Ammanas the wolf misses it's attack
Facing Alexio the wolf, on it's last legs, bites him for 5 damage and fails to trip him.
Look on the bright side Zartana, you'll save on earrings.

Zartana |

In theary, a heal and putting ear back will give her that back. I aint loosing my ear to a wolf!!

Zartana |

She steps away, biting down on pain and firing an arrow at the dog
Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
But the bleeding wound throws her attack off
I need a healing potion! She hisses through the blood and pain

![]() |

Just you and me Zartana. Kazz fires an arrow from his bow but it hits only darkness. Ammanas claws the wolf facing off against it twice, but it's claws do not do much damage.
Alexio attacks his wolf with his rapier and manages to put it down.
[url=http://beta.ditzie.com/57724/53a2f6559a19dThe wolf and the larger wolf preposition to flank Zartana again and continue their assault on her.[/url] Energised by fear and adrenaline Zartana manages to evade bot their attacks.
You are up again.

Zartana |

The elf steps back and attacks the remaining wolf, skewering it
Take that you mut! And thats my ear!
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
Confirm: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
3d8 + 12 ⇒ (8, 5, 6) + 12 = 31
GM u can do the card roll/draw for crit

![]() |

Nailed in place. Doubles the damage, so you're x3 becomes x4 and the target cannot move. 31 is already more than enough to kill the wolf, so no need for more damage. The wolf howls in pain and dies as your arrow goes through it's paw and into the ground.
We'll give Kazz and a Alexio another chance to respond, but if we don't hear form them in a few hours, I'll just push this combat ahead, so we can get you guys back to Stag Fort.

Zartana |

If possible, I CLW potion so I can heal my ear back again. Luckely the damage will go away after a few days. So no need for lesser restoration atm

![]() |

I guess it's just you and me for now.
There are 4 of you and only one regular wolf and one large wolf left. The larger one turns tail and runs. As it does so it calls out, in common "I'll be back for you dark meat." The smaller wolf, faced with Ammanas the shadowy eidolon, is not certain what to do at first and is torn apart by the eidolon's claws.
You down a potion and splash some on the wound for good measure. The ear grows back, a bit stunted and scarred. That's no longer your best side, but it will serve the purpose.
Alexio and Kazz offer to hunt the strange wolf down, but you can see they are just as exhausted as you.

Zartana |

Knowing the dark is no place for tired and beaten people, she suggest to head back to the fort. No use in drawing this out

Zartana |

When time allows, Zartana looks around to find Raven. When she does she will call her to one side, prob a place where they can share a drink and talk in private
"Well, finally we have some one on one time. Hope all your preparations are baring fruit. Mine is coming a long slowly, a bit more time consuming what I plan."
-Posted with Wayfinder

Raven of Bonespire |

Raven smiles, sitting down next to Zartana. "Isn't that always the case? It will take more time for me to build the temple to the Queen of Ravens, but She is most patient with me." Raven makes a spiralling sign over her chest.
Looking back at Zartana, she says, "So, you wanted to know about my.. change..correct? What do you know so far?"

Zartana |

She laughs
"All business. All I know, you almost died, I barely stopped the bloodflow. And you changed as I watched. Noone else saw it..."
-Posted with Wayfinder

Raven of Bonespire |

Raven nods at Zartana. "Staring down Death has a way of making a person, well, a little detached. I apologize. I did go through a change. I experienced life, death and rebirth all at once. The Raven you knew before, she did actually die. Her spirit lies with the Queen of Ravens. Her soul...my soul...was given new purpose and a new vessel with which to make it happen. She gave me that when She spoke to me... commanded me..." Raven nods towards the broadsword leaning up against the wall, it's solid black blade drawing the eyes in with swirls of deeper darkness.
She looks back at you and smiles. "I felt your presence while I was... elsewhere. I knew you were trying to help and I can never repay you for what you have done to preserve what is left of my reputation. While I am here to help the community grow and celebrate the birth of new Life, what most don't understand is that I also represent the opposite. The necessary balance of Death. While I build this temple, I am also keeping a look out for enemies. Not only the mundane ones, such as bandits and other nations trying to attack us, but more spiritual ones. Those who would seek to circumvent Death's touch. I am to bring War and Death upon all our enemies."
Raven lets that sink in before continuing. "Now you know my secret, even more than before. I am the ambassador of Life and Death, the Cycle of Balance. A spark of the Queen of Ravens lies within me. What you do with that secret is up to you, I can no more command you than I could a goddess, but I do not think that I would want to either."
She lets Zartana think about that as she takes a sip of red wine.

Zartana |

The drow grinned. A very odd but knowing grin. Anyone who has ever escaped a drow, would probably run screaming for the town guard if she grinned like this at them
"Your secret is safe with me Raven. It always will be. If ever you do send someone to your goddess, all I ask is to be present. I wont ask to hold the dagger just yet" she gives her a wink
"Dont get me wrong. I do not have murderous tendencies. But those who deserve it, I will dish it out. Most seem a bit too good for these actions. I myself am not the perfect daughter. I have had my own confrontations with what some would call inherent tendencies. So far I have not succumbed to them. Which I am proud off I have to admit" she drinks some wine too
-Posted with Wayfinder

Raven of Bonespire |

I will keep that in mind," Raven says as she sets down her drink. "I'm quite sure we have many battles ahead of us before this place can truly be called 'settled', and I would gladly have you by my side as we send them all to Her."
Thinking for a moment, Raven takes up her glass and raises it. "To the Queen of Ravens, Mistress of Death Dealers and to Sisters in Darkness, may She claim those who would come against us."

Zartana |

"May the Darkness protect you from the Sun" she drinks with Raven
I think it sounds like a drow formal greeting. But thats just me
-Posted with Wayfinder

Raven of Bonespire |

Raven smiles, toasting Zartana and taking a drink.
That it does, but I won't fault you for it. It is your heritage.
-Posted with Wayfinder

Raven of Bonespire |

"Zartana is right. We should get moving soon.", Raven says as she climbs on to Blackfoot's back.

On a clear summer morning Zartana, Raven, Jenya, Kyras and White Eagle mount up to head out in search of a worg.
Zartana and her companions last saw the creature due west of Freewater. Taking the newly built bridge over the river you head into the rising sun.
Once out there I assume you'll want to make some survival/perception rolls.

Jenya P. |

Jenya knows that CWE and Engolmat have perception and survival skills that dwarf her own but she still does her own reconnaissance as they head into the unknown in order to aid them.
Aid another Per and Survival: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 191d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21

Zartana |

Survival: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20

Chief White Eagle |

site is back...yayy...will start to work on the map again. so heading west from the staglord fort hex
guess I should rename the stag lord fort to Freeport then
I really need the maps from team darkness to update my map. so i know which Hex we are heading into
As they reach uncharted territory, White eagle sends Elangomat out to scout ahead about 3/4 of a mile out.
perception Elangomat: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (11) + 16 = 27
White Eagle keeps a sharp eye at ground level.
perception CWE: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32
survival: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25

![]() |

Heading east you begin crisscrossing the hills in search of some sign of your quarry Elangomat flies high over and a-head and eventually calls your attention to something, you circle carefully around, prepared for anything.
What you find is a small watering hole, little more than a large mud-puddle. Nonetheless this watering hole bear tracks in the mud. The normal sized wolves and one much larger one. They stopped here to drink, perhaps 2 days ago and headed further east.

Chief White Eagle |

White Eagle calls Elangomat back
he examines the tracks in an attempt to identify how many. and to begin tracking the wolves.
survival: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (6) + 13 = 19
or can I take ten for a 23

Zartana |

(Insert GM description here)
Will see what GM says

Chief White Eagle |

agreed, these tracks are no more than 2 days old.
It is easier to track on foot. unloading some weapons from his horse, White eagle hands Zartana his shortspear. Here, this is useful against such a beast. It is likely to run upon you and use its weight to drop you to the ground. Use the spear like this, it will give some measure of defense White eagle demonstrates to set it against a charge, but he does his best to assume he already knows the proper use of the weapon, it is more of a suggested tactic than actual instruction.
White eagle uses the Nettle's ranseur and tucks his handaxe in his belt.
i ask that we concentrate our efforts to only eliminate the threats. we are not butchers of innocent animals for pleasure. let us spare what life we can. perhaps wolf pups, if raised right, could prove to be useful allies.
White Eagle then sets to track the wolves to its lair.
survival: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25

Zartana |

Zartana nods.
"That was my plan from start, I just want to kill the thing that messed up my ear. And thanks for the spear, I will keep it close with me. But my plan is to end it quickly. I have a few doses of liquid that will hopefully stop it in its tracks. Its not very potent, but when it works, it works well. All I ask is to avoid damaging its head too much or not at all if it can be helped."
Take what ever you can find, but the beast is mine!
On the tactics side : We observe and see where its lair is. At night we attack it as it comes out. Zartana will find a tree and try to make a make shift sniper's nest. Our melee will keep the regular wolves busy and I will try to take it down
-Posted with Wayfinder

Zartana |

just my suggestion. Anyone else can add ideas too! Zartana seems a bit too eager to kill this thing. Her tactics might not be as sound as she might think :P
-Posted with Wayfinder

Chief White Eagle |

CWE will do his best to keep you safe yet ensure you get the revenge you seek. Zartana the Worg Slayer.

![]() |

You track the trail for several more hours, up and down twisty hills.
Darkness successfully explored this hex before being attacked, but their maps are hardly detailed enough to lead you through every crack and crevice.
As the sun nears setting you start to wonder if these beasts are just leading you in circles.
Do you plan on tracking through the night? or making camp?

Zartana |

My plan is to find out where it sleeps during the day and set up an ambush
