Multiple Attacks Question

Rules Questions

I'm not usually bad with understanding how multiple attacks work ... but I just can't figure out how many attacks this character is supposed to get.

There is a character from Rise of the Runelords who's stats look as follows:

human fighter 4/ranger 2
NG Medium humanoid (human)
Init +1; Senses Perception +10

DEFENSE

AC 18, touch 12, flat-footed 16 (+6 armor, +1 Dex, +1 dodge)
HP 53 (6d10+16)
Fort +11, Ref +5, Will +2; +1 vs. fear
Defensive Abilities bravery +1

OFFENSE

Speed 30 ft.
Melee +1 battleaxe +10/+5 (1d8+7/x3), +1 handaxe +10/+5 (1d6+5/x3)
Ranged composite longbow +7/+2 (1d8+4/x3)
Space 5 ft., Reach 5 ft.
Special Attacks favored enemy (giants +2)

STATISTICS

Str 18, Dex 13, Con 14, Int 10, Wis 12, Cha 8
Base Atk +6; CMB 10; CMD 22
Feats Dodge, Double Slice, Great Fortitude, Power Attack, Two-Weapon Fighting, Weapon Focus (battleaxe), Weapon Focus (handaxe), Weapon Specialization (battleaxe)
Skills Climb +9, Craft (stonemasonry) +7, Knowledge (engineering) +5, Perception +10, Profession (siege engineer) +6, Survival +10
Languages Common, Osiriani
SQ armor training 1, track +1, wild empathy +1
Gear chainmail, +1 battleaxe, +1 handaxe, composite longbow with 20 arrows

Could you please explain to me how many attacks he gets when two weapon fighting?

Thanks.

If he can take a full round attack, he gets a total of 4 attacks, 2 with the battleaxe (one at +10 and one at +5) and 2 with the handaxe (again at 10 and 5).

If he moves more than a 5' step, he is limited to only one attack one of the weapons (his choice), and his bonus would be +12 at that point, instead of +10 or +5.

It does not appear that you have Improved TWF, so you only get one attack with the off-hand weapon.

So, two attacks with the battleaxe (one at highest BAB + modifiers - 2 for TWF, one at that same number -5), and one with the handaxe (at the highest BAB + modifiers -2 for TWF).

He doesn't have improved two weapon. He should only have 3 attacks. Battleaxe +10/+5, Handaxe +10.

Also doesn't qualify for double slice.

Rise of the Runelords forums have suggested alternate feats for this guy I believe (If it' who I think it is). I'll see if I can find a link.

here you go.

A quick search may turn up others, and there are further links within the post itself, but RuyanVe's answer is pretty much all you need.

It is the guy you think it is. Seems like there is a few mistakes with his stats. Thanks for the link and the clarifications.

He is a level 2 Ranger, so if he has the Two-Weapon Style, he can pick Double Slice as his Ranger feat since he doesn't have to meet the requirements.

But yeah, he would have to have Improved Two-Weapon Fighting to get that second offhand attack.

But back to the original poster: The way the stat block is written (if you were just going by that) he would get 4 attacks. Two with the main hand, and two with the offhand.

The problem is he has TWF and Double Slice, neither of which he qualifies for. The second level Ranger feat only lets him take one without meeting prereqs, and that'd have to be TWF.

EDIT: Well, technically it wouldn't have to be, but it'd be dumb as hell to take Double Slice without having TWF.
