Regarding the Festival, I am seeing the following deductions from peoples Kingdom turns towards the Festival through Turn 10. If I've overlooked anything please point me to where I need to be looking:

Dolgrin 4 BP
Govannon 1 BP
Lucius 1 BP
Galendir 0 BP
Flaith 0 BP

I don't know if I'm just overlooking something or what, but I just wanted to double check.

I didn't know if we were deducting during the winter to stock pile or if it would be spend say in Month 11 the month of the festival. Galendir will do the 1BP a month and subtract 4 from his Treasury so ending turn 10 Balance of 28BP

A I think 4 BP is somewhat A LOT. That would culminate in a 20 BP festival which is WAY too much. If each of us donate 1 and Flaith two, which she will do in the month of the festival, we have a feast worth 24.000 gp which is a LOT!

That is a good point. I know my population is only 1100 I'm sure everyone's is around that so 24000 on 5000-6000 people is a extravagant festival already I think. So yeah adding 3BP back :) balance is 31BP

Yeah, I agree - we should drop 1BP each on the party, which is already a ton of cash for such a small population. :)

You guys can by all means contribute whatever you want. But for Dolgrin to do his requested part, he has to arrange for transport of a lot of goods and people across a large chunk of land safely in the middle of winter. Gonnna be a bit costly for him.

Could Lucius retroactively spend more? What he wants isn't cheap.

Started to write something up, but then realized...I don’t have a list of who you guys invited!

The man from Varnhold made some suggestions, but I’ll need an official invite list to detail this properly!

Galendir writes personal letters of invite to both Maegar Varn, Baron of Varnhold, and Lord Trine Fervourblade the only two people he knows outside of the group and his populace in the area.

So, the guy said: ”Also, Lord Varn asked that I pass along suggestions for a guest list. The folk of Dunsward will be in attendance. An invitation to Baron Drelev would be appropriate as well. Also, the Swordlords and Surtovas and other noble houses of Brevoy would be insulted if an invitation wasn’t extended. Perhaps an invitation to Mivon and other River Kingdoms would be appropriate?"

I'm down with all that. I'd definitely add our Dragon Benefactor. Our Fey Allies/Neighbors.

Geographically, perhaps the other River Kingdoms? Numeria and Galt are semi-close, but I'm not sure who we'd invite from either. The deposed Galtan nobles of Gralton might be good fodder. Maybe someone from Kyonin?

Lucius himself wants to invite scholars/experts on dragons and performers/artists/actors/celebrities of the day.

I concur with those lists. Govannon knows no one of note outside the group and the dragon. He'll arrange to invite the dragon if everyone agrees as he's close.

Remember he did send hire folks in the fall, and utilized them again in the spring, to spread the news among the local folk so commoners, petty lords, etc. may all join in if they wish.

The first 3 gods could have some clerics close. The others not so.

Humble request:

Instead of lumping every conversation you seek to do into one post, let’s just focus on one at a time. That helps keep a flow of things chronologically, as well as makes my job of replying easier. As is, if I’m replying to multiple people at once, it already becomes a big phone post. Lump 5+ conversations from one person and it becomes substantially more difficult. Especially from work.

But smaller, focused conversations with one person at a time each, those are manageable. That way if I have to pause and step away due to RL, I can just post after whoever’s part I am done with and come back to the rest and new posts when I’m free again.

I’ll change the map over to a dining hall to visualize seating arrangements some time this evening. At work right now. Then trick or treating.

Dinner map is set up with tokens for each of the major NPC's present. You should be able to see their names and move the tokens around. They are color coded based on the delegation they are with. If you have any questions or problems drop them here and I'll address them ASAP.

If you want anyone else to be present, name them and I'll get them a token made. If you have a reference image for them, even better as that will save me time and will be able to get the appearance right in respect to your image of the character.

Long, terrible story short, after over a year of limbo my work related hearing started today. So for the next month there will be days where I can't post and some days where I just don't have it in me. The good news is the end is finally in sight. Will get a post up tonight or tomorrow. I've still been reading, just haven't been able to channel Lucius, if you get what I mean.

I understand. I’m kinda waiting in limbo for others to verify things for the dinner and arrange there seating at the table so I know for sure who is where and can know how to handle table interactions more realistically.

This is just the sort of thing Lucius would love. It's just rather hard to get in that mindset with my real life job on the line. Don't hold up for me. I'll get at least something down tomorrow.

Hey guys sorry we lost 2 of our state offices in the Florida panhandle from the Hurricane. I'm the IT manager for our bureau so I have been busy accounting for lost IT equipment and securing replacement stuff and what we are claiming against insurance. So it may be another week or two before getting completely caught up so need to keep Galendir's stuff basic so don't have time to fully worry about the seating and the performances in detail need to keep it abstract sorry :( Please move forward. I will still be posting in my games just detail may be a bit less than normal for a bit.

Just a quick thing I've been meaning to mention:

There isn't any need for you guys to toss Diplomacy checks in every post. You likely won't be able to win the friendship of every faction present, so it's pointless for you guys to try.

What this RP is scene is here for is to give you a feel for your neighbors, let you get an idea of who you might want to consider allies to your Houses, and who you might consider as enemies.

Example:

Galendir and Govannon may find that they are quite fond of the Mivon Swordlords, while those same people may feel that Lucius and Dolgrin are not to their own liking.

Meanwhile, Dolgrin may find an ally in Baron Varn, but Lady Surtova, Baron Drelev, and the folk of Brevoy annoy him with their pomp.

Lucius, however, may develop a kinship with Baron Drelev, and find Baron Varn's uncouth nature a bit displeasing.

Finally, Flaith may wish to maintain ties to her kin to the north, therefore trying to mend relations between Surtova and the Issian Houses with the Aldori and the Rostland Nobility. Doing so, however, causes distrust from her neighbors in Varnhold and the Drelev Demesne, as well as drives a wedge between Mivon and House Aredhel.

Granted those are just examples and not likely to develop that way.

But at the end of this festival, I will ask for Diplomacy Checks from each of you and, based on the RP, I will decide what level of Starting Attitude these factions have with each of you and see if your checks will improve or harm those relationships in any way.

So for now, worry less about the mechanics and more about the interactions.

I figured something of the sort. That's why I didn't do one for the queen I meant it more for the sword lords as trying to smooth out a tense situation not really trying to win them over because of a high roll. Makes sense. I won't put one in unless you request it :)

If each of the Baron´s can focus on a neighbour, we can improve the standing with each of our trade partners alot.
Flaith will focus on Restov and her old house, but still kowtowing a bit to the Surtovas, to make no one angry.

Thank you for your patience, everyone. It's not over yet, but things are looking better for a happy conclusion, as evidenced by the fact I could finally get into Lucius' head again.

I’m going out of town this weekend for wife’s birthday. I’ll try and keep some small posts going (DM posts take more time and typing than one can reliably do via phone). But otherwise, expect the games scene to be posted Monday, as I am off until next Thursday.

Well maybe just take the weekend off and give your wive lots of attention.

Sorry for the late post and retcon but last night we prepared my little daughters adventskalendar. This took quite some time to fill and prepare.
For those that don't know the tradition. An adventskalendar is usually a box with 24 doors, to be opened on each day from december first till 24, each holding a small piece of choclate.
For little children there are also the option to fill it with little toys or other cheap knick-knacks.

Birthday shenanigans this weekend. DM posts will come as able.

I feel I should say that I have no interest in explicitly writing Lucius' sex life, though it is a major part of his character. If I ever step over a boundary with the innuendo please let me know.
