I got the impression that Bearik is done at the moment answering questions. Is he offering to help us? Or is he making sure we are addressing the issue.

As for what I was going to say next I was going to announce that over the next few days the Wardens would be making many decisions and that we would have much to celebrate in regards to the charter.

As for shipping some discussions or short handing some things that is fine with me especially ones we hashed out previously.

Though we need to consider if the new infrastructure at Oleg's might make for a good first city.

Also we have Bearik and the Djinn as possible NPCs to consider for officers.

Yes, the next to discuss is the upgraded Charter but since we kind of already went over it, we don't have take a huge amount of time to go over it again.

As for Oleg's, I thought Quince was concern if Oleg wants to have the first city in the Belt?

Quince is very concerned about it and still wants to speak with Oleg but as a player I am picking up on what 1- Maybe story teasons it might be good to focus here. 2- Oleg's wishes might be different than Svetlana's.

Yes you do need to decide on where the first city will be built and likely your capital city. Likely a subject to be discussed in character. Oleg and Svetlanna are at the table right now.

Now that we have Oleg's acceptance of the inevitable. Do we want to consider Oleg's as our First city. We can always move it later. But if start at Oleg's we can control the goldmine, and the hexes toward the Erastil temple sooner. If we start at the Staglord fort priority becomes the road north toward Oleg's and the river crossings. Also Bearik's improvements add to whatever we build there.

It is dumb to ignore the mechanical bonus's of a central location. I have stated before the meta is very important. They made kingdom building very hard at the front. After a year or so in game it swings the other way and become quite easy as long as events don't throw things off as well. But every little number matters up front. I don't want this long running game to end because the kingdom fails. Stag Fort is my vote.

It has been awhile since I looked at the bonuses. I was under the impression that the sites were equal in regards to starting. The conversation I remember had more in character discussion about water supply. I am at work is that binus listed in the kingdom rules. My quick glance couldn't find it swiftly.

No, its in the adventure rules. Having a central location which is the Stag Fort provides a +1 bonus to all 3 rolls. Also it has a structure to build a castle at half cost. The Castle provides +2 to all stats as well as a +8 defense. It also halves the cost of a townhall which we probably would want to do month 2 as it is a +1 to all stats and halves the cost of future defense buildings like watchtower and barracks.

We talked at length about this before. You can claim one hex a month. You can't build on hexes you have not claimed. Olegs is a defense nightmare in a wide open field with no natural protection. I'm not saying it won't work, and it is a fine second city, but as a capital its poop, and an uphill battle. We fail one or two economy roles early on and we don't build as we are out of money and unrest builds as we expand but we can't control it because we can't build and our kingdom fails in the first year.

Gotcha. I will have to go back and read. I thought that there were positives for Oleg's as well. I also wasn't sure if the magic infrastructure added on changed things.

I believe it is half cost to build stables and either a Tavern or an Inn, don't remember which and they are both kind of cheap to start with comparatively.

I wasn't voting for Olegs to be the capital, we already decided on the Stag Fort and later maybe the island in the middle of lake (#38) if the restrictive Kingdom Rules allow it.. It was already decided on Stag Fort but doesn't Olegs need modifications in the Kingdom building rules? In real life, it does.

As it stands you will be making Stag Fort your capital. The proclamation needs to happen in Gameplay thread so the 'workers' know where to go. I assume you will be guiding them to the location.

Could someone please post the positions for your kingdom again. We should create a google document to keep a running list of the kingdom.

Let's see, we pass the Upkeep Phase and go to Improvement Phase. Spoilered for sack of space.:

Improvement Phase
Step 1 - Leadership: it appears to be picked though you will need to talk with those mentioned.
Step 2 - Claim Hexes (Max 1 now): Stag Fort Hex (using 1 BP)

Step 3 - Establish a city: Prepare the site using 1 BP, but you may start the construction of one building this month since the hex is plains...

Step 4 - Build Roads: 1 BP per hex to connect your kingdom... crossing a river doubles the BP! (later)

Step 5 - Establish Farmlands: Each hex you have a road established you can make into farmlands. 2 BP for plains/grasslands and 4 BP for hills. Each farmland reduces Consumption by 2 BP. (later)

Step 6 - Edicts:

Income Phase

Step 1 - Deposits of 4,000 gp in loot for investing to make 1 BP.

Step 2 - Withdrawals from the deposits. Unrest increases by one and you must make a Loyalty check. Only 2,000 gp for each 1 BP.

Step 3 - Sell Valuable Items: Economy check (see details).

Step 4 - Economy check against your Command DC. Divide by 5 and add that much BP to your treasury.

I will, I have to look back through some things, but all our stats went up a point I think so that explains why things are all a few points different. At a glance it looks correct except you and Angeus's bonus is one bonus. So its a +10, this can't be applied to two categories until we hit a hex size of 30? maybe 50? I'm going off memory and can't recall. Also I can't get to D20psrd any longer. When they changed their site and I changed jobs it is now blocked at work :( I will give it all a look tonight.


It looks like we are about ready to move ahead a month and get things started rolling.

Month 7 will start with Consumption 8, Farm -6 So if Stability earns 1BP we will go down to 8BP to start this month.

So that is what I propose for our first 6 months. The book recommends we do a year before starting back to the AP of book 2. So we need Wolf to tell us if we are doing the whole year. Now BP probably will be Higher then 8 at the end again I did the minimum each time. So probably 5-10BP higher depending on luck of the dice. Events could change how we build but I think we all can agree we are expanding toward Olegs to start and get the mine. Some events may generate Unrest but the stability check each month lowers it by 1 and as long as its 0 we earn the 1BP a month. If it goes higher we may need to build a house here or there or a building that lowers it I have no idea what the events are. I can't remember I know there are good and bad ones so lets hope for good. Once we get to Olegs we will be size 7, we need to expand to 11 so 4 more grassland tiles that can be farms. 11 This will let us build 2 buildings a turn and claim 2 hexes a turn. Now we probably will not have the BP for this but we can reach this by month 10 we should be able to expand as above, we can go go a bit cheaper the next 2 months putting graveyard in the capital and Olegs month 7 and 8. That would make each month cost 8 these boost Economy and Loyalty which we need Loyalty at this point to stay ahead, also give a place to honor the dead as lets face it the stolen lands are rough. Even explored area's with roads have a 5% random encounter rate. That means 1 out of 20 that travel or venture out to work farms die as they are commoners :). That should be plenty for now. Let Wolf get going with events. And you guys can read over and give input on what you want to change if anything.


Quince you would only get to do one diplomacy check with each NPC, luckily for you it is advantageous that it works that way. All NPCs asked accept their roles.

I didn't do the break down each month I just added the building each month to the proper score, but in month 1 the location bonus is on the bottom of page 8 in book 2 and runs onto the next page. The building bonus is from the castle. The rules state you get the building bonus the month you start it. Kingmaker has super builder as it takes them only a month to do the castle and yet it takes a month to do say a smith :)

I suggest Hexes 7,30,6,5, The hex to the right of 6 and 2. I don't think we have the cash to pay Bearik to do more.

Are you guys good with the first 6 months. Wolf went ahead with the events but I need you input I don't really know a better way to do it of PbP normally we could discus sitting around the table but if we wait for replies here we will never move forward so I made a proposal

Month 1: Stability: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (11) + 23 = 34

Month 2:
Monthly Stability: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (7) + 23 = 30, Economy: 1d20 + 29 ⇒ (2) + 29 = 31

Month 3:
Monthly Stability: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (12) + 23 = 35,Economy: 1d20 + 30 ⇒ (15) + 30 = 45, Loyalty: 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (18) + 26 = 44

So through month 3 we made the rolls and earned 9BP in month 3 so we end month 3 with 22BP

So next two months look good We end month 5 with 20BP due to Economy and event.
