Tristan Morgan
Yes we are, first time. Family reunion is the weekend following it in West Virginia. I will be gone from the evening of August 3-13th.
Kevros Droverson
Double cool! It is definitely something that everyone in the SCA should take part in one or more times.
Kevros Droverson
Tristan, we passed the Pennsic Battlefield on the way to my Aunt’s house yesterday and they are already making preparations.
Tristan Morgan
yep, it opens this coming weekend. We are heading up there on the 3rd.
Tristan Morgan
Sorry I didn't see it in time :(
Kevros Droverson
Anyone looking at the playtest and what do you think?
Also remember, unless something came up, Tristan is up in Slippery Rock, PA for SCA Pennsic War 47. Although possible, we may not hear from him for about a week depending how medieval he wants to be.
Kevros Droverson
No problem, have fun! That's OK since Tristan is playing Knight this week.
Angeus
Hi Guys,
Recent events have had me re-evaluating my commitment to the games I'm currently involved with here on these boards.
As you've probably noticed I've had a few noticable absenses this summer, again due to the fact I've become quite
a bit more busy, usually leading to a rushed decision late at night...do I logon and get some posts in?
Ultimately, it began to feel more like a job than a hobby...<< I have to get a post in...don't want to hold the game up >>
It slowly dawned on me that I just wasn't looking forward to posting, even though I enjoy each of the games I'm in immensely.
When something you enjoy becomes something you don't, it's time to re-evaluate.
Though it's a hard decision, I've decided to take a hiatus from the boards.
Apologies to players and GMs leaving you in the lurch, so to say.
Extra thanks to GMs for allowing me in to your games.
Happy gaming and take care, Al.
Kevros Droverson
I am here, I was letting other people post before I post.
I know how you feel Angeus, come on back when you are ready. Online Gaming Boards are such a different feel than group table games.
Quince Medvyed
Take care Angeus. It was fun.
GM Wolf
We understand Al, when you get back we will keep your seat warm.
Now we can keep the queen home... that sound good to everyone?
I was pretty sure you were around Kevros, just checking.
What do you guys think, should we try to add one or two more PCs? If so should we open it up to the public or make an invite each?
Kevros Droverson
I don't mind adding more, but I would like Tristan's vote too.
Tristan Morgan
I'm back. Kingmaker is really popular so adding someone would be pretty easy. I'm good either way. We lost our queen and Quince his wife or soon to be wife. Sorry buddy :)
Kevros Droverson
How was it and did you win? ... lol
Quince Medvyed
I have a sneaking suspicion that Angeus and Quince were bound for heart break.
She was carefree and doesn't want to settle and Quince is very set on things like marriage being important. So one of them was going to cave or both resent each other.
Tristan Morgan
Was good, I enjoy Gulf Wars more I think, though there were way more merchants and cool things to buy. It was just hot and a long drive :) I'm sure I will go again just don't know if it will be next year.
Tristan Morgan
1 person marked this as a favorite.
nothing super cool, I have a new helmet being made that I custom ordered last year. Most of the purchases were my wife, new roman tunic, some inks for calligraphy, a shield basket (it protects your hand holding the shield), some cool tent pole shelving unit thing that you can hang clothes on as well. Other than that just food and drinks :)
No one in mind. Open recruitment should be fine. What type of character are we looking for. A wife for Quince?
Kevros Droverson
I watched some videos and Gulf War does look like an event I would like more than Pennsic too especially if I had a calm Arabian or Andalusian horse to match my persona.
Quince Medvyed
LOL King okay.
Seriously are we going with more of a traditional monarchy at this point.
I thought we had ad nauseum developed a Council with a head of state.
Kevros Droverson
I thought in the open, we pretend to be a monarchy but something different behind close doors like Waterdeep?
Tristan Morgan
Yeah we rule by council, but behind doors the mechanics of the kingdom have names associated and for that purpose Angeous and Quince were our rulers :)
Kevros Droverson
Testing 1 ... 2 ... 3, does this thing work. At least until Hurricane Florence arrives?
Kevros Droverson
If we start posting Friday or weekend, I may be delayed. We decided to give Florida a break and take the first Atlantic Hurricane this year. While it is currently forecasted to move to South Carolina, we may get hit by gusts, floods, and bad drivers during the event that knocks out our power.
GM Wolf
So sorry folks, first off Paizo was broken for me and others for a whole week. Then I was starting school/making sub plans. Then in the hospital for 5 days (earlier than expected), you would think I would have time on my hands but with the stress of labor I was sleeping or worrying. Though on the 8th I had a healthy baby boy delivered to me!!! Then the next weeks were filled with making sub plans, sleep, and taking care of my wife and newborn Zeke. I was able to play some video games yesterday and now I return to you with great interest to continue.
I hope Kevros is safe and toasty, tucked in from the hurricane.
Tristan Morgan
Glad your back and well. For what it's worth I think you will always have the 3 of us at least anytime you need breaks just come back and we will be here :)
Quince Medvyed
Congrats on the baby. Here's to future sleepless nights.
Kevros Droverson
Congrats GM Wolf on your new son and like Quince said, here's to three months of sleepless nights. I hope you receive your reprieve on the 4th month like I did 16+ years ago. As for Flo, she basically missed us. Yes, the two or three of us lurk here so don't worry about taking breaks. In fact, I may be a little rusty posting. I am still getting over a cold so please bare with me over the weekend if I am delayed or post more unusual than normal but I should be back to normal Monday.
As for color blindness, I am red/green color blind so yes that does play a nasty role in determining colors. It's that I am not totally color blind but shades of red and greed really screw me up. Numbers would be better if you want faster came play? Thanks!
Unless something happens, I will post tonight when I get home.
And Welcome Back everyone!
Kevros Droverson
Do the small bushes or players provide the large wyrm any cover? I imagine the trees/large bushes, statues, and Krazok would.
The Vagrant Erudite
Hey guys. Wolf gave me a link to read this thread (I'm applying to fill a spot) and I just wanted to say I'm loving reading it. I just got to Masota leaving...too bad, I really liked the dramatic interpretation of good debates between her and Kevros. Seriously, I'll finish in a couple mre hours causs I'm entrenched.
Anyway I wanted to ask if you guys think you need a role filled. Not a class per se, as so many classes can fill a given role, but you know...
Nice talker, mean talker, trapfinder, tracker, animal person, healing, battlefield control, knowledge monkey, etc.
BTW, I used to be thegreenteagamer, so if you're curious my style I've quite a few examples of aliases on that old handle (though I mostly GM'd my Fallout Savage Worlds games)
Hope I'm not intruding!
Kevros Droverson
I thought it was good too but I think the player that played Masota took them seriously and departed but I could be wrong, it could have been coincidence. Irregardless, no hard feelings for the player or the character.
We just lost our rogue/sorceress diplomatic character. The female character filled other roles too but you don't necessarily have to fill those.
GM Wolf
Yes Kevros the bushes give soft cover.
So nice talker, trapfinder, battlefield control, or knowlege monkey, at least I think those roles are not completely filled.
No you are not intruding, I put out quite a few feelers, first come first served is my attitude.
If you have any questions please do ask.
Kevros Droverson
We are currently using Gestalt so don't forget a second class.
The Vagrant Erudite
Gestalt, eh? Are you cool with gunslinger? Cause I love the Wyrmsniper/Siege Gunner combo of archetypes...it keys Grit off Int and uses big guns. Could pair QUITE nicely with alchemist. "Spells? F$~# that. I can blow s!#* up with cow s!~!, a garden hose, oil and a peanut butter sandwich!" I can take large and in charge and/or bruising intellect and be a scary MoFo. Half orc, to round out the team, maybe?
I'm thinking he's a bounty hunter bringing in the half orc from early on in chains. With nobody to pay for his hard work since the paladin disappears. he blames the rest of the Wardens and demands recompence...and so they give him a job, he earns their trust, etc. Just an idea.
He'd make a great chief engineer, or I noticed your tax collector is only Oleg. I'm sure my potential character could do more...creative applications...with the nation's treasury.
Quince Medvyed
We are without rogue (role not class). Honestly though anything you want to do would work these days. Its really a matter of what you want to drop in with.
Quince Medvyed
I owe everybody and apology. With as sporadic as things have been I have totally spaced out on the fact that as an Oracle I have a curse. I have said a few things over the last few round. Not a whole lot but anything I would be saying is in Celestial. Which Katrina might now to glare at me. But not everyone knows that.
I will try to remember that.
The Vagrant Erudite
44 pages in and I'm still on 2013 yet it seems you're not even 100 0ages in. Things must've slowed down a lot eventually.
I'm still leaning towards a gunslinger/alchemist. The combination can serve a lot of roguey roles, and has decent social skills between them, tons of knowledge, and the like.
I'm thinking a genius frustrated that traditional magic never quite worked for him, qhich is why he got into gun tinkering and alchemy.
If the GM isn't down with guns, a psychic/unchained rogue could be a neat combo.
Kevros Droverson
If you think you can fill the rogue roll with an Alchemist side of Gestalt, sounds good to me. Just please don't blow us up ... LOL
I like the Gun Chemist myself ... :)
Although, Trap breaker looks better ... :)
Then you can always make a grenade launcher. Too bad, Gun Chemist didn't synergize with Trap Breaker.
Pietro Morvan
F$*$ disabling traps. I'mma blow them up. Permanent disability.
Grenadier allows you to attach bombs to ammo, so...I can sorta make a rocket launcher with a blunderbuss attached to a grenade...and the grenadier lets grenades blast in angles instead of radius, so I can even keep you folks out of the blast radius. Usually.
I'm gonna level up and gestalt this alias...Pietro Movran. Personal bounty hunter, inventor, chemist, and all around tinkerer. I'm thinking of maxing craft alchemy and gunsmithing to see what crazy gadgets and toys I can make.
The real fun comes when I can craft a cannon around mid level. They're an absolute beast to man, but shrink item + permanency + quick draw = pulling a huge gun from hammer space like Bugs Bunny. Don't act like the visual isn't amazeballs.
Pietro is neutral. He isn't as goody goody as the rest of the party...but like most neutral folks he gets along woth goodly folk and dislikes evil. Just feel like stirring the pot a little (if the party dislikes this my character can be changed. I hate when people say "but my character would..." For a stupid action to the party. I write my character so I can change him!
